I DIED AND WAS REINCARNATED AS ..... A GOD?

Chapter 26: Gift

"Hmm, I might be overdoing it a bit, but with these features, it should serve you well for a long time. The core, from a Level 54 Magferacelis bird, has enough power to last a while. Although, to be honest, this wouldn’t even be worthy of a god. Ha ha. 'Here you go, girl, here’s your gift. Don’t forget to "imprint" it,' Zandor commented as he handed over the compressed bracelet, adorned in vibrant scarlet with neon black and purple patterns."

“Wow… th-thank you, Mr. Zandor, I will appreciate it so… wait a moment, what are these stats!!!!?”

“This is at least EPIC + grade!” Lua shouted while Irv looked on in confusion.

“But sister, objects of that grade are only possessed by high-ranking nobles; only dukes and archdukes of at least centuries-old can have such objects, and they would be a family heirloom!! How is it possible that this young man created one?”

“Oh, right, I forgot; you were unconscious. I’m a god, so creating something like this is child’s play for me,” Zandor replied, not understanding the exaggeration of her reaction. In his inventory, he had items approaching Eternal + level, gathering dust.

“G-g-god?” Irv couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Her surprise was palpable; although she wasn’t completely skeptical about the existence of gods, she thought they were just humanoids with extremely high levels. Her thoughts were unusual for a 15-year-old girl, but she was different from others her age: more intelligent, though she knew how to play the role of the sweet and naive girl.

[Sir, you shouldn’t be going around proclaiming yourself a god; it could cause chaos among the lower humanoids of this world. We should focus on what you came to do… speak with the primordial spirits.]

“Right, almost forgot. I got carried away by these two girls… I suppose I don’t have many opportunities to interact and be, well, ‘normal.’ Anyway, it’s time to say goodbye.”

“Hey, Lua, right? My stay here has extended beyond what I expected. It’s time for me to continue on my path. Perhaps we’ll meet again in the future. Goodbye, girls, and be more careful next time.” Zandor said his farewell, while a light enveloped him and he shot off like a comet toward the heart of the forest.

“He left just like that… without even letting me thank him for such a relic,” Lua commented, somewhat disheartened.

“Goodbye, future brother-in-law!” Irv shouted as she waved her hand.

“Urgh, I don’t know what to do with you, super-intelligent girl. First, we need to get out of this forest. Hopefully, the horses are still where... where they... THE GUARDS!!! Some might still be alive!!” Lua commented, worried and exhausted.

[I’m a bit worried about those girls; who knows what challenges await them in their lives…]

“Hey, you were the one who insisted I stick to the original plan. I was planning to accompany them to their academy and observe how magic develops in this world. What I’ve studied in the mansion library might differ from what’s taught at A1. Besides, we’re not in a hurry; the gods’ meeting is still far off. I want to keep exploring this world,” Zandor commented as he headed to the largest tree in the Grove.

The mana readings he perceived suggested the presence of a primordial spirit in that tree, although it could also be something else. After millennia, it’s possible that a spirit had been born outside the control of a god like him.

Upon reaching the base of the tree, Zandor noticed a white marble temple with golden veins, adorned with arcane runes of camouflage, disorientation, and weakening, as well as several enchantments designed to reduce the power of any visitor, leaving them at a level close to 10. It was very strange, considering that a primordial spirit, one of the first beings of this world, shouldn’t have enemies capable of posing a threat. This increased both Zandor’s and Sarasvi’s caution.

Although they had joked about Sylvan’s absence to welcome them, they knew it was unlikely unless something had prevented him. The spirits created by Zandor had in their subconscious that he was their master and lord, capable of sensing his presence from the moment he approached the planet.

The fact that none came to pay homage suggested that something had happened to them. Not even the Evanescent Triad, the spirits responsible for preventing any uprising, had shown up.

“Sarasvi, scan the other continents, locate the other spirits, and put the information on the tablet. I need to find out what happened here,” Zandor ordered as he landed in the temple. Although the place was dazzling and could fascinate any mortal, Zandor was not interested at all. The architecture left much to be desired compared to that of the Almarhonia Empire, situated in what was once Europe on Earth.

Upon inspecting the temple, he noticed that, although it seemed intact, there were signs of a battle inside, along with faint golden stains. Primordial spirits do not bleed; instead, they have a golden liquid, similar to mana in many ways but volatile when in contact with solar plasma.

“Hmmm… yes… I have no idea what could have happened here. It’s better to ask someone who was present,” Zandor commented calmly, while gently clapping. That applause contained a drop of D.E., designed to trigger a chain reaction that destroyed all the camouflage enchantments, revealing a pile of carbonized humanoid bodies. All were in battle positions, and at the end of the temple, Zandor distinguished a female figure with ebony skin and short greenish hair. She was curled up, floating inside a cocoon formed by the roots of the great tree, apparently in a state of hibernation. Her body showed multiple lacerations, and she wore a delicate dress made of autumn leaves.
