I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy

Chapter 19: Please Leave Me Alone

She looked at her contract husband when he said that. Would she still have feelings for Vincent if one day she and Sean got married?

Feelings that could make her heart waver as it was right now, would that happen?

She felt at a loss as to what to answer, her blue eyes slowly dropping. She didn't know what to answer in a situation like this, but there was one thing she could probably tell him.

"I will try to stick to my decision. If one day I change my mind and choose to marry you, I will love you with all my heart as I used to love my ex-husband... No... Maybe more. It's just that... Like I told you, I need time," she replied while holding Sean's arm.

The man fell silent, stopping the car at a red light. He returned Odelia's gaze to him, seeing how she was sincere in saying what she wanted.

"I need time to be able to love you, to be able to truly love the man who is in front of me right now. Will you wait for me? I really want to love the father of the child in my womb, I want this child to have a father like you," she continued.

"Odelia..."

She shared that she felt so sad and lonely when she couldn't grow up with a father figure. When she saw all her friends having a father, getting piggyback carries from their fathers and having a father on father's day, she felt very envious.

"I felt sad when I didn't have one. At first I thought I could be like my mom by raising this child on my own, but after I looked into my past... I don't want this child to feel the same pain as me if he can get what he can from your presence," the woman explained while rubbing her belly.

Slowly Sean understood why Odelia had so easily changed her mind when he first came to ask her to live with him.

She wanted a relationship with him as the father of their child. A father figure was needed and Odelia felt that if the biological father was willing to take care of the child, it was a good opportunity, right?

"I don't know where my father is, my mother always forbids me and my younger brother to talk about it. I don't know if he cares about us or not, but he's never looked for us."

"So you don't think he cares about you guys?" asked Sean.

Odelia nodded her head, it was what she had always believed. She couldn't even remember what her father looked like. But what was certain was that he had the same eye color as her, which was blue. Because her mother had brown eyes.

"Sorry, I'm talking about something else. But the point is, I'm doing everything for this child. And loving you is something I want to do because then, I can teach our child to love you too," she said with a smile.

"You always have something that surprises me, Odelia. Every word you say always leaves me in awe of you," Sean said and then drove back home.

Upon arriving home, Sean brought Odelia's belongings inside. He asked if Odelia had bought the dress she had asked for earlier and she nodded.

"I asked you to buy a dress because there will be a company banquet soon and they invited me to come. Since you are now my wife, I want you to come with me to the banquet," he said.

"I see, I'll come with you," she replied.

"Oh one more thing..." Sean took out a ring box from his coat pocket and put the ring on Odelia's finger.

"It's beautiful..." She looked at the ring in awe.

"Do you like it? That's good. It's my late mother's ring. For the time being I want you to wear it, it's the Osbert family's hereditary ring," Sean explained.

Reflexively she turned her head and felt worried that the ring might be lost because of her. But Sean still wanted Odelia to wear it, proving to everyone that Odelia was part of the Osbert Family.

"I'll take good care of it, thank you, Sean. Please be patient and wait until the day when I can finally love you," Odelia said and hugged Sean.

The man gasped in surprise at the sudden hug, but he slowly returned Odelia's hug and rubbed her back.

"No problem, focusing on your health and our baby comes first. I don't want you to become stressed just thinking about this, do you understand?"

The ginger-haired woman nodded her head, making the man smile and kiss her forehead. Giving Odelia affection to keep her feeling loved.

"Are you going back to the company?" she asked.

"I don't think so, my head hurts thinking about work again and again," Sean replied as he stretched his tie.

He combed his brown hair and sat down in the family room to unwind. Odelia, who saw him, immediately went to the kitchen to make something for her husband.

Not long after, she returned with a toasted sandwich and dragon fruit juice for Sean.

"Drink up, I don't know if you like dragon fruit juice or not, but it's very tasty and healthy for your body," Odelia explained, setting down two glasses of juice and the toasted sandwich.

"It's dark red in color and looks thick, I think it's really good."

Sean took the juice glass and drank it. The sweet, slightly sour and cold taste hit his tongue and throat. He was impressed with the taste.

"This is really good, I feel much better after drinking it, thank you Odelia."

"You're welcome, eat the sandwich too. Dinner time is still quite long, so I made a snack," she said.

She smiled at how Sean enjoyed the juice and sandwich she had made. Odelia tried to make an approach by spending time together.

Sean was used to showing his affection through physical touch, while Odelia used food and time together. She was confident that she could forget her past and start a new life.

'I know it's going to be really hard to get you out of my mind, Vin. But right now the man in front of me is the father of the baby in my womb. And I want to love him, more than I love you. So please..."

'.... Leave me alone and let me be happy.'
