Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Don't worry, your Big Brother will teach you - Part 1
Just as she was in a panic, she suddenly heard a trembling voice coming from the side, "Who's there this late?"
It's the Old Madam!
Xu Qiaoqiao's eyes light up. She breaks free of the slightly distracted bodyguard due to the arrival of the Old Madam and dashes over to her!
"Grandma!"
Her pitiful voice, mixed with spoiling and sobbing, makes anyone feel soft at heart.
The Old Madam, supported by the maid, asks with surprise, "Qiaoqiao, what are you doing here?"
She looks up, even more surprised, "Mushen? Why are you here too?"
Xu Qiaoqiao extends a hand to support the Old Madam's arm.
a child who has grown up in an orphanage is usually sensitive. She instinctively knows that the Old Madam is the only one in the family who feels a little sympathy for her!
Now, the Old Madam is her only savior.
Thinking of this, she turns her head to look at Xu Mushen.
Xu Mushen frowns and steps forward, "Grandma, I came here because…"
Xu Qiaoqiao cuts him off suddenly, "Grandma!"
The Old Madam is startled and turns to look at Xu Qiaoqiao, "What happened?"
Xu Qiaoqiao bows her head, her hands tangled together, looking very pitiful, "Grandma, I grew up in an orphanage. I had no father, no mother, so nobody taught me how to behave. I don't know anything, I'm not worthy of the identity of the Xu family's daughter. Will you drive me away?"
"My poor little one!" Upon hearing this, the Old Madam's eyes become red, holds her hand and says, "Whoever dares to drive you away will have to drive me away first! Who is born knowing everything? Your Big Brother can teach you what you don't know."
Xu Mushen: ...
He felt a great surge of agitation in his chest.
Her demeanor in front of the grandmother was completely different from the one she portrayed in front of him!
Xu Qiaoqiao nods vigorously, "Mm, Grandma, I will learn well from Big Brother."
The Old Madam pats her hand in satisfaction, "You're such a sensible child."
Xu Qiaoqiao blushes as if she's been overly-praised, and lowers her head.
Yet, out of the corner of her eye, she throws a provocative glance at Xu Mushen.
Xu Mushen's eyes grow heavy, "Grandma, it's getting late; you should go recite the sutras."
The Old Madam has always recited Buddhist scriptures at the same time every day, which has become a habit for her.
The Old Madam immediately responds, "Right, Qiaoqiao, if you have any questions, ask your Big Brother first. I'll go now."
After saying this, she turns around, and with the aid of the maid, leaves.
Once the Old Madam is a fair distance away, Xu Qiaoqiao speaks, "Big Brother, I look forward to more of your guidance in the future!"
Upon these words, Xu Mushen's eyes flash ominously. He takes a step forward, which scares Xu Qiaoqiao so much she yells, "Grandma!"
Xu Mushen stops in his tracks, warning her with his gaze.
The Old Madam, who had walked a fair distance away, turns back, "Ah? What is it?"
Xu Qiaoqiao blinks her big eyes and smartly says, "I just want to tell you that I'll accompany you for breakfast tomorrow morning!"
The Old Madam immediately laughs, "Good, good, I'll wait for you tomorrow morning."
With the Old Madam's words, at least for tonight, Xu Mushen can't drive her away.
This man seems so overbearing and arrogant.
Yet Xu Qiaoqiao has long noticed that he always makes a lot of concessions for the Old Madam.
However, where is the line drawn for these concessions?
Can they make him allow her to stay, for the Old Madam's sake?
When the Old Madam left, Xu Qiaoqiao stood in place, awaiting the final verdict.
