As Saku walked home from the livehouse, bass slung over his shoulder, a message notification popped up from Nyamu.
Nyamu: Hey! Remember to check out the video I just posted. It's about our trip to the music store!
Saku: Alright.
He agreed and opened YouTube to see what she'd uploaded.
---
Meanwhile, Chihaya Anon, currently studying guitar techniques on her tablet, got an alert from her favorite content creator, Nyamu, about a new video.
"Nyamu posted a new video!"
Immediately, Anon abandoned practice and clicked the notification. She'd been practicing for quite a while—she could afford a quick break.
"Today I Went to a Music Store—Guess What I Bought! Nyamu's getting into music too?!"
Her excitement skyrocketed. What instrument had Nyamu chosen? Maybe guitar, just like her?
Anon watched eagerly as the video began with Nyamu giving a quick overview of the music store and explaining that she was with a friend, though this "friend" preferred to stay off-camera. The video mostly showed Nyamu interacting with the shop owner and trying out a variety of instruments. As it was wrapping up, she finally revealed her big purchase.
"Oh! She got an electronic drum kit!" Anon exclaimed, just as Nyamu shifted to a quieter spot in the store and, with a mischievous smile, began whispering to the camera.
"So, here's a funny story. I just found out that my friend here… is totally a tsundere~"
Anon stared, wide-eyed at the screen, watching Nyamu describe how her friend had secretly prepared a full drum set guide for her, only to have Nyamu change her mind and buy the electronic kit instead. Nyamu left out any mention of her friend's clever comeback and even skipped over the bass completely, leaving only a selective portrayal of her "victory" over this "tsundere" friend.
Of course, Nyamu never mentioned his name—she'd respected his wish for privacy.
"And I've gotta say, his reaction when I called him out on it was priceless," Nyamu laughed, thoroughly enjoying herself. "He just wouldn't admit it."
Nyamu's laughter practically radiated through the screen.
"What a nice story," Anon mused to herself, her mind quickly shifting to a new line of thought.
Could it be…? What if this mysterious "tsundere friend" is actually Nyamu's boyfriend?
From the way Nyamu described him, it seemed plausible. This friend went along with her to the store, helped her pick the best instrument, and even researched the drum set for her.
To top it all off, Nyamu's delight in telling the story and the way she laughed while describing his reaction—well, if he wasn't her boyfriend, he was certainly close. Maybe they were just flirting back and forth, on the verge of something more.
Rather than feeling disappointed, Anon felt genuinely happy for Nyamu. Seeing one of her favorite creators potentially finding love seemed wonderful.
I wonder if she'll share more of her daily life with him?
With a curious smile, Anon picked up her guitar and got back to practice. She still had a long way to go to catch up to Kaname Raana and wanted to make Saku proud, so there was no time to waste.
---
Saku: So we're taking things out of context now?
Saku: Only telling half the story?
Saku: Not a single word about your tsundere tendencies, huh?
After watching the video, Saku immediately messaged Nyamu, firing off his complaints.
To be fair, his reaction at the time had probably looked a lot like tsundere behavior.
But if she'd included his clever comeback, it would've made it clear he wasn't actually being a tsundere. Instead, she'd selectively left it out.
And the worst part? There was no way for him to correct her version of events.
Nyamu: I did give you a heads-up, remember? For content purposes, I told you I might adjust things a bit.
Nyamu: You agreed! You only asked me not to mention any identifying details.
Nyamu: And I followed your request perfectly, didn't I?
Nyamu felt a surge of satisfaction as she sent the messages.
This reaction was exactly what she'd wanted.
Why else would she have gone out of her way to remind him to watch her video?
Victory never felt so sweet!
Easily taking down her "tsundere" friend—how could this high schooler even stand a chance against her, a college student?
Saku: Didn't we make up already?
Nyamu: What can I say? All in the name of good content.
Saku: I fail to see any content improvement.
Nyamu: Well, judging by your reaction right now, I'd say it worked perfectly.
Saku: ...
Yep. He was done.
Tossing his phone into his bag, he decided to ignore her messages for a while.
To be honest, he wasn't actually mad at her.
Nyamu had warned him she'd embellish some details, and she had respected his request to remain anonymous. Nobody watching the video would know the "tsundere friend" she was talking about was him.
Really, it was just a joke between friends.
He wasn't petty enough to get upset over something like that.
It was just… frustrating not being able to fire back, especially when she'd painted herself as the clear "winner." Engaging with her now would only dig him deeper.
He'd just have to wait for the right opportunity to get her back.
---
After sending Saku several messages and getting no response, Nyamu realized he'd given up on replying.
Nice! She'd won!
After a quick celebration, Nyamu, sitting at her desk, couldn't help but feel a twinge of worry.
It wasn't that she thought he'd stay mad at her—they were fine. But if she knew Saku, he'd definitely come up with some sort of payback eventually.
Best to stay on her guard.
Of course, it wasn't like she'd make it easy for him either.
Hmph!
