Chapter 15
Among the pile of corpses of beasts, a woman was wiping the blood off her face.
Her long hair was white and beautiful, and her red eyes shone like jewels.
And the black magic sword she wore at her waist was absorbing magic and life force from the fallen beasts.
“Your Highness Glacies, it seems that all the beasts in this area have been taken care of.”
Louise, Glacies’ closest knight, reported. Glacies wiped the blood off with a towel and handed it to Louise, speaking in a cold voice.
“Now that the beast problem in the grand duchy has been solved, let’s go back.”
“Yes!”
At Glacies’ command, all the knights who followed her answered in unison.
Just as they were about to leave, a shining hawk descended and landed gracefully on Glacies’ shoulder.
“A hawk…? Or is it a spirit?”
Despite the sudden appearance of the spirit, Glacies maintained her cold attitude.
Glacies smiled faintly as she saw the letter tied to the spirit’s leg.
Her aide-de-camp asked, seeing her smile.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Your Highness smile. Is it a letter from the previous grand duke?”
“No, my father is not the kind of person who would send a letter through a spirit.”
When they heard that it wasn’t from the previous grand duke, the other knights became curious about the sender.
“Then who is it?”
“Who sent the letter?”
“It’s from my fiancé.”
At that, all the knights present dropped the things they were holding.
“That fiancé…”
“Yes, the person you’re all thinking of has sent a letter. Not a reply, but a letter sent first.”
The people present knew Werner. Did they hate him for ignoring the lady?
No, they were happy that Werner had sent a letter.
“Finally, our efforts have paid off! Your Highness, isn’t this the person you’ve had a crush on since you were young?”
Then Glacies erased her faint smile and returned to her cold expression.
“Let’s finish the preparations quickly. We have a lot to do when we get back.”
At the age of nineteen, she succeeded to the grand duke’s position and had been doing her job well for two years.
But during that time, she rarely smiled. Except in very rare cases.
Glacies went to a place where no one was around and began to read the letter sent by Werner.
[To Glacies Winterheart, Grand Duke.]
[First of all, I would like to apologize again for my wrongdoing.]
[If I could have you as my wife, it would be the greatest fortune.]
[But I am not in a position to have a wife right now.]
[I have also enclosed a gift with the letter.]
Glacies looked at the white ribbon with a snowflake decoration. After brushing off the small amount of snow on the ribbon, which seemed to have been made for her, she continued reading the letter.
[I bought it because it reminded me of your hair color. I bought gifts for others too, but I only sent a special gift to you.]
[I am not yet in a position to be someone’s husband, nor do I have the intention. I hope you understand, Your Highness.]
[Your fiancé, Werner Alton.]
“Indeed. You don’t want to be a husband…”
Glacies nodded and returned to where the other knights were, mounting her horse.
“What does your fiancé say?”
“He says he doesn’t want to be a husband yet.”
“Rejected!”
Those who heard this were ready to tear Werner apart. How dare he run away from his eight-year-old fiancée, and now he’s even talking about breaking off the engagement. He was a bastard among bastards.
“No, this is not a rejection.”
“What?”
“He don’t want to be a husband, but he treats me like a wife. So he has that kind of taste.”
Glacies’ knights felt like something was going wrong.
“I’ve seen a lot of romance novels with that kind of content. A romance between the cold northern grand duke and an orphan magician.”
“Yes, but wasn’t the grand duke a man and the magician a woman?”
“So, I’ll be the husband, and Werner will be the wife.”
At that, her subordinates quietly prayed for Werner’s soul.
Glacies quietly stroked her magic sword, reminiscing about her childhood with Werner.
“Once I finish my work, I should go and meet him.”
.
.
.
I clearly remember getting drunk at Camellia’s housewarming party and passing out, but I don’t know where I am now.
I was trapped in a white space with nothing in it.
“Am I getting the nice boat ending? Or the sharing ending?”
I was honestly upset. I didn’t even graduate from being a virgin, let alone kiss someone properly, and I died just for playing a prank with a gift…
“Damn, why did I die so soon? Playing a prank with a gift isn’t a crime.”
As I cursed the harshness of the world, a strange screen appeared in front of me.
“What’s this? Is it a dying vision? Or the ending credits?”
If it’s the ending credits, I wish they would show who took my leg. Every night, I dream of them screaming at me to return my leg.
On the screen was Werner. But some strange sensation told me that this was my future.
And Werner smiled as he received a baby from a woman.
“You’ve worked hard, my daughter.”
But from this angle, I couldn’t see the color of the baby’s hair or eyes. Whose daughter could it be?
“You look just like her… Ah…”
The sound quality was terrible, and I couldn’t hear anything but the ‘Tssss’ sound.
“What you just saw was your future.”
“What the hell? Who are you!”
Suddenly, this person was peeping into my dream. What a piece of trash. I should have used the Summon Spirit spell.
“You still can’t see me, huh? Well, anyway, what you just saw was your future.”
“What? I’m going to have a daughter?”
“Yes, you’ve been hanging out with women around you, and eventually, you’ll have an accident. I came to warn you.”
“Then…”
My throat automatically closed.
“Yes, you will eventually…”
“Yes! It’s not the nice boat ending! It’s not the sharing ending! It’s not the ending where I’m sliced up like beef!”
“Indeed… I still can’t believe you’re my reincarnation.”
.
.
.
I clearly remembered the events of last night.
I got drunk at Camellia’s housewarming party…
When I looked out the window, I saw a T-Rex walking around, fully armed with bazookas…
In the end, I was led to my bed by Iris.
“Oh, and I think I saw my future or something on that strange screen…”
I was going to have an accident with one of the women around me and even have a daughter.
So who could it be? When I thought about it, there were three women around me.
Iris Reyes, Camellia Peony, and Glacies Winterheart.
There might be more, but the most likely candidates were these three.
“Haa…”
If I knew who the confirmed ending was with, I’d give all my time to the slime and strategize.
As I was thinking about this, someone knocked on my door.
Knock knock knock
Damn, is it Byung-chul? Knock knock knock, it’s me, Byung-chul?
“Werner, it’s morning, wake up.”
I heard Camellia’s voice.
When I looked outside, it was indeed time to get up.
Haa, what’s the point of worrying? Let’s just put aside these useless worries and eat breakfast.
As I turned to tidy up the bedding, a new worry came to mind.
“Master, are you awake?”
Iris… Damn, why are you here again?
Is it your family’s specialty to appear unexpectedly? Is it an instinct engraved in your DNA?
“Hmm… What’s going on here? I don’t understand, Master.”
“Well… I helped you to bed when you were drunk last night, and we ended up sleeping together.”
Damn. I don’t need to think carefully or anything, I’m just screwed.
