I Really Didn't NTR your Wives !!

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Injured

Inside the dimly lit KTV, no one noticed the presence of a small figure leaning against the door, patiently waiting near the restroom. This figure harbored sinister intentions, lying in wait, ready to strike a fatal blow against Qin Yun.

While he wasn't prepared to commit murder, he had no qualms about using a knife if necessary. He held his breath and focused intently, listening to approaching footsteps, his heart racing with anticipation. The potential reward for his success was a substantial 300,000 yuan, an amount he had never seen in his life. Today, he stood on the brink of obtaining it.

However, just as he was about to swing his blade, Qin Yun suddenly halted in his tracks, as if he had sensed his presence. Panic surged through the would-be assailant, almost causing him to abandon his plan. But as he hesitated, footsteps echoed once more, rapidly approaching. In that moment, he didn't overthink it; he aimed his knife at Qin Yun's arm, the one holding Yang Shumin, who had just emerged from the restroom, and swung his blade.

The knife moved with incredible speed, catching Yang Shumin completely off guard. She was aware of the blade's approach but couldn't react in time. She held her breath, resigned to her fate.

The blade drew closer, inch by inch—thirty centimeters? Twenty centimeters?

With her eyes shut, Yang Shumin braced herself for the inevitable. The blade might disfigure her face or, worse, claim her life. She felt trapped, unable to escape her grim fate.

"Mom, watch out!"

This was the last sound that Yang Shumin subconsciously heard. Then, she felt a warm liquid splashing onto her face, trailing down to her lips. Instinctively, she moved her tongue to taste it—salty and metallic, it was blood.

But why wasn't she in pain?

Confused, Yang Shumin cautiously opened her eyes, only to find her attacker vomiting blood and collapsing onto the restroom floor. It turned out that the blood on her face was his. Relief and gratitude overwhelmed her as she lost her strength, collapsing into Qin Yun's arms.

"Yunyun, can you help me, Aunt? My legs are trembling."

It was a fact Yang Shumin was reluctant to admit, but she genuinely couldn't walk any longer.

Qin Yun nodded, his face pained. However, in the dim light, Yang Shumin couldn't discern his expression, remaining oblivious to these details.

With a change of grip, Qin Yun slipped his left arm under the elegant woman's armpit and carefully embraced her, guiding her out of the KTV. The shocked and terrified gazes of the staff followed their exit.

All the while, blood continued to flow, and Qin Yun felt as if he were being drained of his life force.

Damn, did it really take all this trouble to win a woman's heart?

Moreover, why did the staff hide like cowards? Couldn't they see someone was injured? Why didn't anyone scream? And as for Yang Shumin, could her senses be any duller? Shouldn't she have better eyesight?

"So, if you hadn't been here today, Aunt might not have survived."

"I told them that to get to you, Aunt, they'd have to go through me first."

"Yunyun! Don't say such ominous things." The cool night air gradually brought Yang Shumin back to her senses, and her legs regained their strength. She stamped her foot, dissatisfied with Qin Yun's earlier remark that he'd easily sacrifice himself.

Yet, as she spoke, she suddenly realized that her godson had indeed done exactly that.

When those aggressors had been menacing, he had stood like an unyielding fortress, shielding her from their attacks with their crude weapons.

"Yunyun, Aunt doesn't mean to be harsh on you. She knows you would risk your life to protect her. It's just that hearing about the corpse earlier made her sound so serious."

She explained her conduct, though it seemed unnecessary. Her demeanor hadn't been harsh; instead, she was determined to present her best self to Qin Yun, worthy of his affection. She had begun to set high standards for herself and reflect on her actions.

Her godson was exceptional, and she couldn't afford to fall short. Otherwise, she might lose her last confidant.

"I understand, Aunt. I won't misjudge you; don't worry."

Qin Yun replied, gritting his teeth and wearing a determined expression.

"Yunyun, what's bothering you?"

Although Qin Yun's words had filled Yang Shumin with elation, her concern for him compelled her to notice his unease.

"It's nothing, Aunt. I'm fine. Let me take you back."

Qin Yun avoided her gaze and hailed a taxi.

Under the streetlight, his raised arms were nearly soaked in blood, glowing strangely in the dim illumination.

Seeing him covered in blood, the taxi driver hesitated for a moment but then decided to stop. He stepped on the accelerator, speeding away like an arrow.

"Yunyun, what happened to your hand?"

Finally, Yang Shumin's curiosity got the best of her, and she noticed something was amiss with Qin Yun.

"Huh? Oh, it's nothing."

Like a thief, Qin Yun immediately hid his right hand behind his back, keeping it out of Yang Shumin's sight.

"Give it to me."

Her tone grew stern, carrying the authority of a strict mother, but Qin Yun remained stubborn.

"So, you're not going to listen to your mom anymore?" Yang Shumin sensed that calling herself "Aunt" might be too mild in this situation, so she decided to use the term "mom" instead.
