I Reject the villain’s ending.

CHAPTER : 23

Episode 23

‘Yes, bitch!’

‘Okay. You’re up next.’

‘Pfft, Shield, I will avenge Kyle’s death. I’ll rip your balls off and throw them to the wyverns!’

‘That’s a lot of talk for a bastard.’

The arrow left the bow at a speed too fast for the eye to follow, piercing the warlock’s shield.

Before the warlock could react in surprise, the arrow pierced his head.

The warlocks jumped to their feet and dropped their fingers in disbelief.

‘No, no, no, no! How can an arrow pierce a shield?’

‘Witchcraft. It must be witchcraft!’

‘How cowardly of you to use witchcraft against a saint! Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?’

I muttered to myself in disbelief as I watched the furious warlocks.

‘Oh my god, I never thought I’d be called cowardly for casting spells on a warlock in my lifetime. Do you have no conscience like I do?’

‘You damned puppet of God!’

It saddens me that such wretches of humanity must suffer the tragedy of kinship, but what can I do?

With tears in my eyes, I drew another arrow and pulled the bowstring tight.

I must kill you if I am to live, so what choice do I have? Please die so that my reputation may live on.

‘Don’t worry. I’m a pretty nice guy. I’ll send you to a room where it won’t hurt.’

‘You’re crazy!’

The wily ones immediately turned their wyverns to flee. But my arrows were faster.

‘Where!’

The arrow flew in a straight line, not a parabola, and pierced another warlock, signaling the beginning of the battle.

The battle began and I was almost like a fish out of water.

I fired arrows at Diane’s shield, taking no hits and firing with glee.

Once I had killed a few wyverns and the warlocks riding them, I followed the pre-arranged plan and Diane released her shield and went to fight alongside Eldrakis.

Iros hesitated for a moment at the thought of leaving me behind, but with a determined look on his face, he said to me

‘Saintess, I’ll kill them all as quickly as I can, so don’t force yourself to catch them, and if you see any danger, run away.’

‘Don’t worry. I can protect my own body.’

‘Don’t get hurt. And don’t die.’

‘You too. I’ll see you in a bit.’

‘Okay.’

I smiled and patted Airos on the head as he hesitated to pull away.

Iros took one last look at me in those pretty violet eyes and ran towards the enemy.

I smirked and nocked an arrow as I watched Iros slice through a warlock with a single stroke of his sword.

‘Shall I try my luck?’

Uda ran up the stairs and aimed her bow at the warlock as he rode his wyvern down to kill me.

‘Die, holy woman!’

‘You die.’

I spoke coldly and put an arrow into the warlock’s chest.

The warlock, who had momentarily twisted when the arrow entered his body, and whose heart had not been pierced immediately, curled up in a ball.

‘Oh my. He’s not dead?’

I exclaimed in mock admiration, leaping atop the passing wyvern as it skimmed the stairs.

As I landed directly in front of the warlock, his head snapped up in surprise. I looked down at the pale-complexioned warlock and said.

‘Saint!’

‘I’m sorry, can you give me a break, you’ve ridden a lot of wyverns.’

‘What?’

‘I’m trying to get on one. I saw you guys flying around on a wyvern and I wanted to try it.’

I rolled my eyes and smirked, placing my foot on the warlock’s shoulder and pushing off with all my might.

‘So now would you mind getting off?’

‘Ew, ew, ew, you devilish bitch!’

‘What a compliment. Bye.’

Showing my companion away, I sat in the saddle and gripped the reins.

I closed my eyes slightly and savored the pleasant breeze on my cheeks. Flying through the air was more exhilarating than I thought it would be.

I could hear a watermelon cracking beneath me, but what do I know?

‘Okay, so you’ve got a wyvern. Let’s go for a drive. Let’s go, dragon.’

‘Eek!’

Yongari or Yongyong or whatever, but I drove the wyvern casually, pleased with the name I’d given it. The ride was an art.

I circled the sky, lowering my altitude when I spotted Diane and Eldrakis fighting down below, surrounded by a horde of warlocks.

‘Can I help?’

‘Saint?! Why the hell are you up there!’

‘Wow, you look great. Saint, you look like a demon!’

‘Hahaha. Like a demon. Is that a compliment?’

Diane was stunned, and Eldrakis giggled despite himself.

I joined in, raining arrows from the air at the warlocks surrounding them.

‘That’s the entrance, isn’t it? We’ll cut a path through it and provide cover, but first, we need to get down to the underground cavity and protect the children.’

‘And you?’

‘I’ll go down after Iros and the warlocks are cleared.’

‘Understood.’

‘Let’s go!’

Yanking on the reins of his dragon, he flew swiftly, sending sharp arrows into the heads and hearts of the warlocks in front of him.

He cleared the way for Diane and Eldrakis to reach the temple’s underground cavity.

Meanwhile, Diane and Eldrakis descended into the depths, while I guarded the entrance, thinning the ranks of the enemy.

‘I think we can leave for a while.’

Now that there were no living enemies nearby, I thought I’d go help Airos, so I flew on my dragon to where he was battling the warlock.

The wyvern cut through the wind and shouted to announce its presence, and Iros, still fighting, swung his sword at the wyvern’s approach.

The problem was, the wyvern had me on it.

I quickly grabbed the reins of the dragon and yanked him upwards, screaming as Iros’s blade slashed at me.

‘Pink, whoa!’

‘Saint?’

‘You’re going to kill me!’

Iros raised his head in response to my voice and blinked slowly.

I stepped forward to help him, but I was nearly sliced in two by the cold, murderous eyes I’d never seen before.

Something didn’t feel right, so I quickly yanked on the reins of the dragon and flew upwards, almost dying alongside the real thing.

My heart was still racing.

‘Oh, no! How is a saint riding a wyvern?!’

‘The wyverns must be brainwashed to listen only to the wicked, so what’s with that natural flight!’

‘…….’

Does a wyvern only listen to bad guys?

Somehow, he’s been pretty stubborn since I kicked his original owner to the ground and took the reins.

I shrugged and turned to the raging warlocks.

‘Perhaps I was more wicked than you, in our dragon’s eyes. Or was it the fact that I knocked my former master out of the air that impressed you?’

Iros paled and shuddered slightly at my words.

‘Who’s the villain.’

Behind Iros, who shook his head in annoyance, the warlocks roared indignantly.

‘Yes, you bitch, how dare you call our mates……!’

‘Well, I’ll let you go, since you bastards have no sense of camaraderie. To where your mates are.’

I fumbled behind my back for my arrow and realized that all I could grab was air.

Panicking, I said to myself.

‘Huh? Where are all my arrows?’

I turned the quiver in front of me peered inside, and was greeted by a space. I stared down at the empty quiver, then looked up and smiled awkwardly.

‘Uh……. I’m out of arrows. Does anyone have any spare arrows? Can I borrow some?’

‘Now’s the time! Attack that devilish bitch!’

‘Saint, run away!’

Looking at the warlocks who seemed to have no intention of lending me their arrows even if they had them, I flung my quiver to the ground and raised my bow.

As Iros shouted urgently for them to run, and the warlocks prepared to cast, I sat on top of the dragon and smirked awkwardly.

‘But just because I don’t have an arrow doesn’t mean I can’t use a bow.’

‘……!’

‘You can’t make one without an arrow?’

A dazzling golden divine power appeared on the arrowless bowstring, slender and elongated like an arrow.

This is the secret I’ve been hiding.

The warlocks forgot to cast their bolts and let out curses as they saw the homemade arrows of holy power.

‘Holy shit, what the hell is that?!’

‘It’s an arrow.’

The bowstring was released with a pop.

In the blink of an eye, a beam of light, not even close to the speed of a normal arrow, shot through the target’s heart, and then into his heart.

‘……!’

‘Whoa, I’m not dead yet.’

As I whistled and congratulated myself on my archery prowess, I heard Iros mutter in a daze from below.

‘What the hell is this saint……?’

It was almost like a human’s reaction to seeing a mythical unicorn: it’s kind of cute in its goofy way, but we’re still in battle.

I produced another arrow and aimed it at the warlock who was about to cast a spell on Iros.

‘Wake up, this isn’t over yet!’

‘Oh.’

Iros looked around, then regained his senses and swiftly swung his sword to take out all the warlocks.

I was having trouble with their spells, but now that I’m the one casting them, it’s easy.

You’re very good. Iros, me too.

I lowered the dragonfly’s altitude and reached out to Iros.

‘Grab him. Let’s fly straight to the underground cavity.’

‘The Saint is…….’

Iros looked up at me for a moment, then nodded, grabbed my hand, and climbed onto Yongyong’s back.

Naturally, Iros climbed up behind me and grabbed the hem of the robe around my waist.

‘Hold on to my waist, not my clothes, or you’ll fall. You don’t want to be crippled, do you?’

‘…Can I hold on?’

‘You want to fall?’

‘I’ll hold on.’

After a moment’s hesitation, Iros timidly wrapped his hands around my waist.

He’s done worse than this during the night, but he’s embarrassed to hold my waist like this.

Still, he’s a puppy, I thought, and grabbed the dragon’s reins and flew off toward the temple’s underground common entrance.
