I Reject the villain’s ending.

CHAPTER : 30

Episode 30.

Iros and Mei quickly followed Sierra down the path she had blazed, protectively behind her, and together they glared at High Priest Diego.

Mei glared at him with wide eyes, like a Chihuahua about to whimper and bark at any moment, and Iros glared back.

High Priest Diego was the first to step forward, bowing his head slightly, as the surrounding temple people swallowed hard, uncomfortable with the uncomfortable silence.

‘The meeting room has been prepared in advance.’

‘Of course, you are a very organized High Priestess.’

With that, Sierra turned on her heel and headed for the conference room, her high braid whipping around her.

As always, the sight of Diego was unpleasant.

As Sierra strode down the corridor without so much as a glance back, the Paladin leader turned to High Priest Diego.

‘Hey, what about that wyvern?’

‘The Lady has offered to keep him, so give him a suitable place to live and feed him.’

“Yes. Understood.”

As the uneasy-looking paladins hesitantly approached and tried to remove the wyvern from the statue, the wyvern snorted and flew into the sky.

They all stared up at him as he soared high and out of sight, then muttered.

“Ugh. He’s gone on his own.”

‘We’ll have to have a word with the Saint, won’t we?’

‘What?’

‘The monster you rode in on ran away?’

The Paladins and the Paladins rolled their eyes and scratched the backs of their heads.

Meanwhile, down the corridor and out of the building, Sierra, Iros, and Mei glanced up at the sky as the dragon soared high into the air, then looked away.

‘Looks like they’re going to eat.’

‘Leave him alone, I doubt the menu is human.’

The warlocks’ purpose was kidnapping, so they were well-trained and never ate humans.

Sierra said grimly and opened the conference room door.

“Anyway, when you’re full, find your way home. My dragon is smart, just like his master.”

‘I know.’

‘But first.’

Sierra looked down at the frightened priests in the room, chin upturned.

‘Let’s start by answering the questions of those ladies and gentlemen who seem to have so many.’

High Priest Diego and the head of the Paladin’s Order followed, and then the doors to the council chamber closed behind them, and the reports of the slaughter of warlocks in Elotta began.

The mood, of course, was murderous.

Everyone held their breath as Sierra’s voice broke the silence and recounted what had happened, and High Priest Diego asked endless questions.

It was enough to make Iros feel overwhelmed.

His brow furrowed slightly, and he stopped when he realized that Diego was being aggressive in his questioning.

‘So, you’ve been saying all along that Richie killed Eldrakis, and that I burned him to death with holy power, which is why the basement collapsed and the body disappeared.’

‘You’re not trying to cover something else up, are you? Something that happened in a lynch mob that you suddenly became different and volunteered to join.’

Sierra, who had been enduring the aggressive questioning of High Priest Diego for the better part of an hour, finally let go of the leash of reason.

‘Now you’re crossing the line, now you’re crossing the line, High Priest Diego, you want me to kill Eldrakis?’

There was a collective intake of breath all around them.

The tension in the room was at an all-time high. No one dared to breathe easy, and their hands were sweating.

Diego and Sierra were notoriously difficult to get along with, so everyone felt like they were sitting on thorns and prayed that the meeting would end quickly.

At any moment, it looked as if Sierra would take the bow in her hand and hit the High Priest in the face with it.

At her bluntness, the High Priestess stirred slightly, then said calmly.

‘It’s not like that.’

‘If it’s not like that, then I don’t believe a lich that hasn’t appeared in hundreds of years, and I don’t believe you’re making it up, and you think there’s no ocean in this world because you haven’t seen one?’

‘…….’

‘You can ask Diane when she gets back whether I killed Eldrakis or not, and you can analyze the magic circles on this robe.’

Sierra sighed heavily and sent him a disdainful glare.

“If Richie shows up, we should be thinking about preparing for him. You’re not a parrot, and you’re just repeating yourself.”

‘You’re going to have to talk.’

“You’re close to retirement age, and your head isn’t working. Why don’t you get some rest?”

She smirked and sneered at Diego. This wasn’t the Sierra who would make her words pretty just because she was told to.

No wonder she was called a bitch and a witch.

After telling Diego to retire, Sierra glared at him, gathered up her bloody robes from her desk, and stood up.

“I’m going to burst my robe watching you all do this. I’m in charge of this coven investigation. You can all go back to your herniated discs while I investigate the millennium.”

With a final glare at High Priest Diego, who had been interrogating him in the guise of a report, and the priests and paladins who hadn’t said a word throughout the meeting, he turned and walked out.

‘Pink, Mei, let’s go.’

“Yes, sir. Saint.”

‘Yes!’

Mei scowled at me in exasperation, her puppy-dog eyes widening in a peculiarly puppyish way as she glared at High Priest Diego, then trotted off.

Iros followed meekly, not nagging as usual.

Slamming the conference room door shut, Sierra blew her bangs out of her mouth and flicked them back into place before returning to her room.

* * *

‘How could you do that to a saint after all the hard work of slaying her!’

Mei screeched.

Her reddened eyes were slightly watery with anger.

“You’re accusing her of some sort of crime……. The Guardian can’t stand to see that!”

Sparks flew at Iros, who remained still.

Mei spoke into her rapid-fire cannon as if the color of the Guardian Sword wasn’t scary enough.

“Draw your sword, like this! Like this! Cut off High Priest Diego’s beard! No, no, no. I’ll go and yank that bushy beard right now!”

Mei chuckled to himself and stormed out the door.

I sighed at his raging bull-like behavior and ordered Iros.

‘Get her before she gets into trouble.’

“Yes, sir. Don’t worry.”

‘I’m glad you’re okay, too.’

‘I’ll go with you and cut him down before the High Priestess kills Mei.’

‘……?’

Kill what, Mei?

…I thought, lifting my head to look at Iros, his eyes already unfocused, and he smiled coldly and spoke reassuringly.

‘I’ll slash the High Priestess and kill all the witnesses, taking care not to get caught.’

“Man, you’re completely out of point, when did this start?!

I shouted, jumping to my feet and kicking Iros in the shin with all my might.

“Dude, who said kill him?! I’m just trying to get him before Mei gets into trouble!”

‘Ouch, that hurt!’

‘You’re kicking because it hurts!’

I grabbed his shin and kicked him in the arse, sending him out of the room as he looked up at me resentfully.

‘Ouch, I’m mad.’

Iros was at least a little bit normal, but I don’t know why he and I seem to have switched personalities.

I rubbed my forehead, feeling dizzy from the rising blood pressure, and stumbled over to the couch and plopped down.

‘Does everyone’s idea of a good 19th-century gothic novel boil down to killing?’

He muttered seriously, and a moment later, Iros walked in, gently grabbing Mei by the back of her head and lifting her.

Mei wiggled her tiny paws in the air, her head tousled and her mouth pouting.

“Sit down, both of you and calm down. It’s just something that High Priest Diego does, but it’s not like he doesn’t understand that I have a very colorful history.”

As I soothed Mei and Iros, the latter crawled down to the floor and sat at my feet, resting her head against my leg.

Perhaps she was still jealous that Iros had been able to sit on the floor and rest his head on my leg before we went out to destroy him.

The tip of Iros’s eyebrows rose as Mei looked away and leaned her head against his, still with a slight blush on her cheeks.

“Ah. That’s unnerving.

Iros strode over and sat down next to me, resting his head on my shoulder in a confident manner.

Mei’s jaw dropped at the sight. Iros lowered his eyes and lifted one corner of his mouth slightly, sneering at Mei on the floor.

‘Hah!’

‘Hmph.’

‘What are you two doing?’

I asked incredulously, and they both spoke at the same time, still locked in tense eye contact.

‘You told me to sit down and calm down, so I’m calming down.’

‘You said sit down and calm down, why are you copying me!’

‘Mei, you were copying me.’

That’s it, Wen. Not seven-year-olds.

It brought down the tempers in the room.

I shook my head, stopping the two of them as they started a second round of tantrums.

“Childish. Get off my side, both of you. There are plenty of seats, why do you have to sit next to me at the bottom of my field?”

‘Because I need to calm down.’

‘So I can be with the saint!’

‘…….’

No, I mean, why are you leaning on me for that chill pill? You both have impure intentions.

“And you seem to like me too much.

I felt like I was looking into the glazed eyes of two puppies wagging their tails at their master.

In reality, Iros and Mei were looking at me from the side, from below, with those eyes.

“Okay. Do whatever you want, but I want you to think about how we can investigate this circle. With Eldrakis gone, we’ll have to do what he was trying to do instead.”

‘Ah…….’

‘…….’

At the mention of Eldrakis’s name, Mei and Iros turned to look at me with pensive faces.

I smiled nonchalantly, knowing full well that they were worried about me.

“I’m not this weak, you little bitch, I’m not this defeated, I’m not this broken. We’re people who have to live in the real world, not dwell on the past.”

‘But……!’

Mei was about to say, looking like she was going to cry when Iros interrupted.

“If that’s what you decide to do, then I’ll go along with it. Let’s find someone who knows something about magic circles.”

‘My pinkie, of course.’

‘Ha, but if people start spreading bad rumors about the Saint again-’

I smirked at Mei’s concern.

I’d already anticipated the bad rumors and tarnished reputation that would ensue from the moment Eldrakis died and I returned to the temple, leaving Diane behind.

Therefore, I stiffened the hand holding my blood-dried white robes and spoke with determination.

‘I’ve been preparing for my reputation to fall since Elotta.’

‘Saint…….’

Mei looked at him with moist eyes, as if to say, ‘My poor saint.

Iros stared at me with slightly trembling eyes, his lips parted in a serious expression.

‘Excuse me, but did the Saint have a reputation to lose here?’

No. Did this bastard do a team kill?
