I was reborn as a villainous aristocrat, but to be honest, I’m having too much fun with magic – I’m creating all kinds of unique magic, and before I know it, I’m going to be the next Demon King!

Chapter 3 - The Exclusive Maid is That Girl You Care About Who Has Taken Care of You Many Times

The title will be developed in the next episode or so

After enjoying a full course meal that I had never tasted in my previous life, I shooed away the cooks crying and asking for my handshake, and returned to my room.

“Now then, I will now ask Master Friedrich to choose his personal maid.”

“I understand that, but how do I choose?”

“I will now lead the candidates into the room, so please, Master Friedrich, please choose one.”

“Eh!? Are they all here!? Why are they here!?”

“Eh. What is that…?”

It’s scary.  A High-class aristocrat.

Even the daughter of an aristocrat probably doesn’t have a lot of free time…

Also, the fact that I can only choose one person means that the girls who aren’t chosen by me will go back to their hometown, right? It’s a big responsibility….

“Then please.”

When the old maid gave the signal, five beautiful-looking women entered.

All of them were dressed in maid’s uniforms and had an elegant appearance.

However, none of them made eye contact with me.

This is it. It seems that my bad personality is known throughout the kingdom.

What on earth did Friedrich do to be hated so much?

“Hmm…?”

However, my eyes were fixed on a certain woman.

She was the only one who was looking right at me.

It’s not just that, it feels like I’ve seen her somewhere, somewhere…

I remembered.

In “The Apostle of Arinasia”, in the middle of the game, the Demon King, encouraged by Doroius, starts a war against the human kingdom, and the main characters visit the town which was the front line of the war.

The city was infested with demons, and by the time the protagonist arrived, it was already in ruins, but there was only one survivor remaining.

That is the girl in front of us.

There is no scene where she reveals her name. On her deathbed, she instructs the protagonist to defeat the Demon King in her place and provides him with the ‘Ring of Salvation’, which recovers 20% of his HP every turn. She takes her last breath immediately after that.

She’s a little younger than I remember, but there’s no doubt about it. I’ve played “The Apostle of Arinasia” over 10 times. You can’t go wrong with it. There is no way I could have mistaken her.

“It’s my first time meeting you. My name is-”

The young lady standing opposite her begins to introduce herself, but I don’t have time to listen to her.

I was transfixed by her, who was still very much in my memory.

…If this continues, she will definitely die in the near future.

Sure, as a result of the irregularity that is me, there may be a future that is different from the main game.

But if I mess up, she will die in a few years, just like in the game scenario.

I have to admit that the “Ring of Salvation” she gives me has been a tremendous help, and I have felt sorry for her every time I see her die with a sad look on her face, even though she is a game character.

A poor girl who gets caught up in the war and dies. It was surprising that she was a aristocrat, but she was found in a state covered in injuries.

It’s probably a depiction that conveys the misery of war, but it’s such a pitiful ending.

If so, there’s only one action I can take here.

“I’ve decided.”

“Huh?”

I cut off the ladies’ self-introductions, and when I said that, they all looked stunned.

But I declared without regard to them.

“You’re my personal maid.”

Her eyes met mine, and she looked somewhat pleased with those words.

It’s a strange thing, isn’t it? I am a villainous aristocrat, and yet I was the one who asked her to be my maid.

“….Thank you for choosing me as your personal maid.”

A few minutes later, I was alone in the mansion’s courtyard with the unknown girl who became my personal maid.

Although she was a girl, she was probably older than the current Friedrich.

Probably around a high school student age…

“What’s your name?”

“Yes. My name is Hecate von Herraia.”

Hecate bowed reverently.

It was an elegant movement, befitting a noblewoman.

Her height is a little over ……170.

Her jet black hair is tied in a ponytail at the back of her head. Her eyes are yellow colored.

The long bangs give the impression of being a little plain, but they are a gem that will shine if you polish them.

However, her eyes were cloudy, and she gave off an air of a mysterious person.

When I was carefully observing Hecate, her eyes flickered with anxiety.

Ah, that’s right. I was a villainous aristocrat.

Being alone with someone who was rumored to be such a violent person must have made her nervous.

Okay, let’s talk about something interesting…

“Um, why did Master Friedrich choose me to be his personal maid?”

“Huh?”

However, unexpectedly, Hecate spoke to me first.

(Why did I choose Hecate…)

It’s obvious.

I didn’t even know her name until just now, but I’ve seen her die many times.

She was found in a collapsed building, missing her right arm, bleeding from her head, and with burn marks that left no intact skin under her torn clothes.

Still, she musters up the last of her energy and tells her protagonis,  “I want you to defeat the demon king who created this hell” and gives him one of her most powerful weapons, the “Ring of Salvation.”

Since there is no scenario in which she can be saved, I have been watching “Arinasia’s Apostle” for many weeks, and I have looked after her the same number of times.

If there is an option where she might be saved, it would be normal to jump into it without hesitation.

That’s why I saved Hecate…

“I’ve been curious about it for a while now…”

“!?”

This is a bit different, isn’t it?

Well, it’s not that different.

I always thought it would be nice if there was a route for her to be saved.

I’ve been indebted to “Ring of Salvation” many times, and her death was as sad as it was beautiful.

I looked at Hecate again.

She looks at me with a strange, or rather surprised look on her face, but thanks to the fact that I just appointed her as my personal maid, she was probably able to escape such a tragic fate.

“Finally, I was able to save you…”

“!!??”

Well, I thought I shouldn’t joke about reincarnation as a villainous aristocrat, but if it means I can save a life I couldn’t save, there’s still a little room for me to be glad I was reincarnated.

Just a little though.

“…Ah…Eh…?”

“..?””

Just as I was feeling a little sad, I noticed that Hecate was staring at me like a pigeon that had been hit by a peacock

Her mouth was moving like a goldfish asking for food.

…Did something happen?

“So, maybe I said it out loud!?”

“Y-yes…”

Oh no! It’s so embarrassing!

I’d be scared if someone I’d just met for the first time, and who was full of bad rumors, told me, “I finally saved you.”

Oh, forget it! What happened just now is, uh, different…!”

I  could feel my cheeks turning bright red.

Oh no! This is so embarrassing!

“No, uh…thank you.”

But what came back was a word of thanks.

Why is she grateful?

It’s true that I may have saved Hecate from the fate of death, but that should be unknown to her.

“Of course… No, it would be rudeof me to say that.”

However, Hecate didn’t answer my question, and for some reason, she just looked like she understood it.

“Master Friedrich”

“W-what?”

Once again, Hecate looked directly at me.

Her face was serious and oozed a kind of respectful emotion.

W-why?

“This Hecate von Herraia will serve you wholeheartedly.”

After saying that, Hecate put one knee on the ground and took the pose of a knight.

I’m grateful for that declaration itself, but…

(Why did this happen all of a sudden?)

Hecate’s eyes, which had been cloudy until just now, were shining brightly, and she looked up at me from below like a large dog staring at its beloved master.

I couldn’t understand what my words or actions had caused her to do such a thing, so I internally cried out.
