I was reborn as a villainous aristocrat, but to be honest, I’m having too much fun with magic – I’m creating all kinds of unique magic, and before I know it, I’m going to be the next Demon King!

Chapter 4 - Speaking of magic, isn't it something that every boy dreams of?

Even after receiving a mysterious loyalty from Hecate, who became my personal maid, we remained in the courtyard.

“Can Hecate use magic?”

That was the main point.

I don’t know when I will enroll in the main game’s setting, “Cadonic Academy of Magic”,  but I want to do what I can now.

If possible, I want to learn from Hecate, who doesn’t have that much contact with Doroius, but….

“Yes, I can use it.”

It seemed that I had a bingo.

“Then let’s talk quickly. Can you teach me magic?”

The turning point for Friedrich is losing to the protagonist in the graduation exam.

In order to avoid this, I must make efforts from now on.

“Y-yes. Of course I don’t mind that, but…”

“…?”

However, Hecate seemed a little puzzled.

“Is there a problem?”

“No, that’s not the case. However, I heard that Master Friedrich dislikes magic…”

“Ahh….”

Now that I think about it, Friedrich in the main game is a student at Cadonic Magic Academy, but he keeps skipping magic classes..

Even when fighting in the graduation exam, he doesn’t use magic at all and fights entirely with his physique.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a hard time, his physical attacks are still painful…

Well, it doesn’t work that way.

Magic is more useful.

After all, I want to use magic.

“I’m sure I used to hate magic, but I can’t say that I do now.”

Friedrich in the main game teaches us that you can’t beat the hero without using magic.

I must be careful not to follow in his footsteps.

“I understand. If that’s the case, then I am Hecate. I’m being presumptuous, but I’ll teach you magic.”

“Oh, please.”

“First of all, the basics are that magic is divided into seven attributes.”

“If I remember correctly, it was fire, freezing, lightning, gale, holy, dark, holy…?”

“Yes, you are familiar with it very well.”

Well, it’s the same as  “Arinasia’s Apostle.”

How many times do you think I’ve cleared it?

“And furthermore, each magic is divided into five ranks: lowest, lower, intermediate, upper, and highest.”

“Hmm. You know that too.”

“As expected.”

…It’s kind of like that.

It’s a bit embarrassing to be praised for my game knowledge with a straight face.

“What magic can Hecate use?”

“I’m a low-class gale magician and a healing magician.”

“Heh…”

Some people may say my reactions are indifferent, but I can’t help it.

Because by the end of the game, basically every character can use advanced magic, and some can even use the highest level of magic.

“Generally, it is said that the magic a magician can use is up to intermediate level.”

“Huh… yes!?”

I end up making a silly sound.

Because that’s not true. In the game, everyone was able to use it up to the advanced level, right?

“It is said that advanced magic is something that one magician can spend his whole life mastering. However, that is only when focusing on one magic. An ordinary magician can master magic with multiple attributes. It is said that most magicians can only use intermediate magic.”

“Wow…”

So either that or the guys in the main character’s party were all geniuses?

I’m not sure how that’s possible. Otherwise, how could they be the main character’s party?

“However,  Master Doroius is said to be able to use advanced magic of two attributes. He is a wonderful person…”

I didn’t know Doroius was that strong.

I’m glad they didn’t decide to pick a fight from the beginning.

“Then I will show you my magic as a test.”

“Oh!”

I can’t help but get excited by those words.

Because you know what?

I’m going to see magic in real life, right?

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have regrets about this.

“Here…I’m starting.”

Saying that, Hecate closed her eyes and folded her hands in front of her chest as if to concentrate.

“O father of magic. With your mighty power, grant me the power to cut through my foes–Wind Edge.”

In an instant, something like a blade of wind appeared where there was nothing before, and it hit the firewood at the edge of the courtyard at great speed.

“Wow… that’s amazing…!”

If you could look at me objectively now, my eyes would be shining like the protagonist of a boy’s manga.

“Hecate! How can I use that!? Please tell me!”

“Oh, please calm down, Master Friedrich.”

“Ah, ah. I’m sorry…”

Before I knew it, my body, which had been standing up, settled back into the chair.

“Well, you see, magic requires chanting.”

“Chanting…”

The same thing is true for  “Arinacia’s Apostle.”

In “Arinacia’s Apostle”, magic is the most efficient way to defeat enemies, but it requires chanting, which is shown in the game as consuming one turn.

The damage is far beyond that of a mere physical attack, as one turn of chanting requires enough time to do absolutely nothing.

“Besides, you can’t just chant. It’s important to concentrate your consciousness and form the magic in your body correctly.”

Hmm. It’s not enough to just put words together.

In ” Apostles of Arinacia”, if the user takes more than a certain amount of damage during the chanting, the chanting will stop.

This was a specification that I had found annoying while playing the game, but it seemed reasonable when I thought about it.

“Well then, let’s try it.”

“Yes. Good luck, Master Friedrich.”

I followed Hecate’s lead from earlier, closing my eyes and concentrating.

I grabbed my right wrist with my left hand and thrust my right hand forward.

Isn’t this the kind of pose that comes to mind when you hear about using magic?

“‘O father of magic'”

I muttered, remembering Hecate’s chant.

Then, I was struck by a strange sensation in which the nerves inside my body began to stir.

Maybe this is magical power?

“With your mighty power, grant me the power to cut through my foes–Wind Edge.”

When I finished chanting, I felt the buzzing magical power gather in my right hand, and it took shape as a blade of wind, just like Hecate’s earlier.

Immediately after that, it was released at an unbelievable speed and cut the firewood in one corner of the garden in half.

“Oh…! I can use magic too, Hecate!”

“Yes.You are did a great job. As expected of Master Friedrich, I never expected that you would be able to successfully perform magic with the first chant…”

Well, I’ve always been good at studying, you know?

It’s only natural for me to be this good.

“Hmm…that…”

Just when I was excited about being able to use magic, I suddenly felt dizzy.

What is this?

“Are you okay, Master Friedrich?”

Hecate’s voice also seems to be coming from far away

My vision is gradually getting darker and I feel sleepy.

“N-no…this might not be okay.”

I involuntarily kneel down on the ground.

what’s happenin…? This is pretty bad…?

“I’ve heard that humans lose consciousness when they run out of magical power…”

Well, I know that, too. That kind of setting is common.

But wait, I only used magic once, didn’t I?

“Friedrich…you didn’t have that much magic power….?”

The  Wind Edge consumes 4 MP…

You only have a quarter of the MP of a level 1 protagonist…?

“Master Friedrich! Be careful!”

Gradually, Hecate’s voice became less and less audible.

I can’t resist my eyelids falling.

“Master Friedrich, you’re too much muscle-headed.”

I completely lost consciousness.
