Chapter 7 - The First Imagination Magic
“…Ha!”
I woke up.
The first thing I saw in my vision was the sky dyed in a deep red.
Then, I felt a soft touch on the back of my head.
…What was I doing?
“Are you awake?”
Immediately after that, Hecate’s worried look came into view .
I was asleep on Hecate’s lap.
“…I was asleep?”
Somehow, my memory is hazy.
Why am I experiencing a situation like a main character, having my head on Hecate’s lap?
“No. Master Friedrich ran out of magic power while practicing magic and passed out.”
Hecate explained in a matter-of-fact tone.
Ah, now that I think about it, it was.
As I recall, I asked her to teach me magic, and after I cast “Wind Edge”, I fainted.
“If you run out of magic, you will lose consciousness for a while, but there is no particular harm beyond that, so I had to leave you here to rest…I was very much distressed, are you all right?”
“Were you having a nightmare?”
“Yes. I somehow managed to do some magic…”
“….!”
I remembered.
As I recall, right after I fainted, I wandered into a mysterious place and met a mysterious lady who called herself Keeka.
She taught me about sorcery there.
“Oh…..I was having some kind of dream.”
“A dream…?”
“Yes. Does the name ‘Keeka’ ring a bell, Hecate?”
I remembered the woman I met in that mysterious place.
She said she has lost her memory, but there may be someone who knows her.
“…I’m sorry. That’s a name I’ve never heard before. I feel so pathetic for myself, who can’t be of help to Master Friedrich..!”
“No, no, you don’t have to take it so seriously. It’s just a dream…!”
I told Hecate, who had tears in the corner of her eyes, but I couldn’t believe it was a dream either.
I remember the conversation with Keeka clearly, and above all, the memory of the heat of that flame tells me that it was real.
“How about using “Flame of Genesis Ragnarok”?”
I was suddenly driven by such a desire.
If I, a villainous aristocrat who hates magic, were to suddenly pull off such an amazing feat, I wonder how people would think of me.
Maybe my bad reputation will change and I’ll be hailed as a child prodigy who can use incredible magic.
However, I gently erase that desire to say “I’m a genius!”.
First of all, I don’t know what would happen if I let out such a big damn flame here. Maybe I would burn Hecate or worse.
That’s no good. I can’t let Hecate suffer here like the game.
Also, my MP seems to be extremely low.
Just using “Wind Edge”, which consumed 4 MP in the original game, causes me to faint.
The reason I didn’t pass out after using “Flame of Genesis Ragnarok” was probably because that space was a special dream-like place.
If I used it again here, I would definetely faint.
“Another Maid came to tell me that the dinner is ready. And that I should bring you back when you wake up.”
“I see. I’ll be on my way then.”
I got up from Hecate’s lap with a feeling of being dragged back.
…It’s kind of like having a girl sleep on your lap…I felt itchy, but my heart felt happy. Let’s have her do it again next time.

“Nnngh…Hmmmm”
As I was heading to the cafeteria with Hecate, I heard a strange voice that sounded like someone was being crushed by something.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“Eh, ah, fu, Master Friedrich!? No, this is…”
The voice belonged to a young maid.
As soon as she made eye contact with me, her voice trembled and she quickly looked away.
….Apparently, my likability rating is really low.
Well, it’s because Friedrich has that father after all…
“Are you in trouble?”
Still, I won’t leave behind a maid who is clearly in trouble.
After all, the reputation of being a villainous aristocrat will only be a hindrance in my future life.
At the very least, I want the maids to treat me as a “normal child”.
“Umm… I ordered fertilizer for the flowers in the courtyard the other day, but I received more than I expected…”
Beside her, there was a barrel that was about as tall as her.
There’s probably a lot of fertilizer in there.
I would love to help her, but I’m a young boy now. Of course, I wouldn’t be able to lift it, and I don’t think that Hecate has the muscle strength to do so either.
“Hecate. Is there any magic in this world that can strengthen physical abilities?”
I asked Hecate, my magic teacher in this world.
But she shook her head with an apologetic expression.
“No. There is no such magic.”
“that’s true……”
Well, I knew.
The RPG called “The Apostles of Arinasia” has no settings buffs or debuffs, which is rare in modern games.
In other words, it is not possible to raise the offensive power of the party or lower the defensive power of the enemy.
But–
“Sorcery can be created….”
I remembered what Keeka said.
According to her, sorcery can be created.
She said that magic is a technique that allows those who cannot use sorcery to activate something similar to sorceru by using chants.
And in fact, she did create sorcery in that short time…and showed it.
If that’s the case, there’s no reason why I can’t do it.
“Hmm…I think what magic requires is imagination…so it’s better to incorporate words that give a more concrete image into the chant…”
“Um, Master Friedrich…? Are you okay?”
Hecate looks at me with a worried face, perhaps thinking I’m acting suspiciously as I start mumbling in a whisper.
However, I didn’t have the luxury of worrying about that right now.
This could be the invention of the century.
“…Okay, this is it. Please lend me your arm for a moment.”
“Y-yes?”
I placed my hand on the young maid’s arm.
Then I closed my eyes to concentrate.
“Magic Power.”
“–!?”
I start chanting.
I felt that strange sensation of the magic power in my body being activated.
“Thou shalt help her and give her powerful strength to shatter everything “Strength up.”
…I hope it’s fine if the chanting is a bit sloppy. I improvised it, after all.
But will it work?
“Huh? My body feels so hot…!”
The maid said with an anxious look on her face.
Is this a success?
“Then try holding that barrel again.”
“Eh~? It was impossible just now, so there’s no way I can do it…”
“It’s all right. Just try it.”
“Uh…we maids are servants anyway…? Oh, I can lift it!?”
The maid was able to lift the barrel, which she couldn’t move even one milimeter before, with both hands and with a light movement.
It was a lot easier than I expected but I couldn’t help but arch my upper body backwards.
“Hmm, success?”
Although I appeared to be calm on the outside, inside I was overjoyed.
After all, I created magic!?
What I was imagining was a magic that increases the attack power of allies that appears in most games.
I created the chant based on the explanation that it generally increases a person’s muscle strength, and it seems like it was a success.
What a surprise.
I never expected that I would not only use magic, but also create magic…!
“I’m not very knowledgeable about magic, but you can do something like this! Friedrich-sama, that’s amazing! Thank you very much!”
The young maid, as if she had forgotten the look of disgust in her eyes, expressed her gratitude with sparkling eyes and went away with the barrel in her arms.
Hmm. I hope this will improve my reputation a little.
“Ma-Master Friedrich..!? What kind of magic was that just now!? Chanting was completely different from other magic, and I’ve never heard of magic that can improve the power of others!”
However, in contrast to the maid who had thanked me fluently and left, Hecate was looking at me with an expression like she saw something unbelievable.
Hecate knows a lot about magic. She knows that this is impossible.
However, it’s difficult to explain everything…
Even if I told herabout the existence of Keeka, she wouldn’t understand, and it’s a mystery whether she would even understand the concept of sorcery.
“…Right now, I’m researching a bit of magic. If you don’t mind, I’d like you to join me in some stuff… Is that okay?”
By saying that, I decided to lie.
Well, it’s not all lies. It’s true that I’m in the middle of a research study.
As expected, this excuse is a bit painful… As I was thinking, Hecate looked stunned for a while, then looked at me with a look of respect.
Ah, it seems okay.
“I had no idea that Friedrich-sama had such talent! This Hecate is impressed! I will be happy to serve as Master Friedrich’s experiment partner or anything!”
“Ah, yeah…nice to work with you.”
As always, I wonder what this mysterious good feeling that comes from Hecate is all about.
…Well, that’s fine.
Now I should think about creating this magic.
If I master this, I might be able to beat the protagonist that I will be fighting in the graduation exam.
Besides, I might even be able to reverse my reputation of being a villainous aristocrat while still being a child.
“My dreams are expanding… Oh no, isn’t it too much fun to create magic!?”
I headed to the dining room, excited about what kind of magic I would create next.
