Chapter 23
Chapter 23
[Exclusive | First Look! Supernova Project Season 5 – Chance! ♪ I’m the one grabbing the opportunity! 100 Performances]
– Wow, so many people here. How many are there?
└ It says 100. Can you not read?
– The center isn’t that noticeable. The kids at the back look prettier.
└ In the ending, Han Youngwon and the next next one really look like they’ve already debuted.
└ (3:58) Namgoong Seol (4:01) Na Yeonwoo – found their names through profiles
– If they are girls, they should smile more gently. They look too fierce… The song isn’t that great either.
└ Why don’t you live your life smiling gently, then?
– This song is amazing. 100 girls, everyone is so beautiful and talented!
– The girls all deserve to debut. They should be treated better 🙂
– The lyrics aren’t about begging for attention but about grabbing the chance, which I like.
– Lee Joo-ha: QUEEN!
└ Snowy fans, gather around. Let’s support our sister Joo-ha.
– But why was the last ending shot girl shown? She seems to have a high rank though.
└ It’s obvious she’s a skilled main vocal, but her face is just cute at best… If she’s not the main vocal, she doesn’t qualify.
└ She looks like a bloated dumpling. Probably has many friends in dumpling soup.
└└ Not even a water dumpling, but a bloated dumpling, hahaha
└ She was said to be from D&F in the pre-released video. She seems to have dropped out of the skills, but she might be the main vocal this season.
└ @Above comment, that’s too harsh.
└ She came on a broadcast saying she wants to be an idol, can’t she handle this? It’s not even swearing. Sensitive much?
“What? Bloated dumpling?”
Tap tap.
[Mind your own face, you crazy jerk. Even without seeing it, I know you’re…]
Hyesung started writing a comment but erased it, worried she might be recognized.
“Terrible people. This proves the theory that humans are inherently evil.”
Even on the relatively mild WeTube comment section, the comments were this bad. How much worse would it be in other communities? If it’s revealed she’s not the sure main vocal, what kind of ridicule and criticism would she face?
She thought she wasn’t mentally weak, but seeing herself become the target of strangers’ gossip made her hands tremble and tears well up.
“…I’m not here to debut anyway. Once Yeonwoo debuts, I’ll financially ruin everyone who bad-mouthed me.”
Hyesung quietly saved the comments as PDF and, suppressing her sadness and anxiety, went to sleep for tomorrow.

The next day, Hyesung packed for the second training camp and headed to a convention hall in Yeouido. It was the official production presentation to the press.
When she entered the waiting room, everyone was already gathered and prepared.
Since individual photos would be released to the press, trainees from well-off agencies had their makeup done at shops used by senior singers, which made a noticeable difference.
“Joo-ha unnie, you dyed your hair again?”
“Yes, I touched up the roots and did a new color.”
Her shoulder-length brown hair was now a warm pink beige.
It must have been expensive and hard to maintain. But her agency probably covered the cost. At times like this, having a supportive agency seemed enviable.
“Your hair color is really pretty.”
“Thank you, Hyesung! Your new hairstyle suits you too!”
“Haha… Thanks.”
Hyesung laughed awkwardly.
Actually, this morning, something had happened. After packing and checking the time to leave, Hyesung was sitting down, working on her leg muscles.
You might wonder how you can train muscles sitting down, but she had read an article during breakfast.
[Can you train muscles just by thinking about it? Exercise effects proven. A British research institute…]
“I’m lacking endurance and muscles to support my joints, I’m just lacking everything.”
While she should have exercised, Hyesung found imagining the training more suitable and started image training as the article suggested.
True to her extreme N-type personality, she searched for any upcoming marathons, continuing her imagination.
Imagining herself flying to Busan to participate in the Haeundae marathon, she saw her imagination gauge filling up a little on the status window.
“Does imagination really fill the gauge?”
Ding.
[Imagination has no limits or types that can’t increase the gauge.]
“You should have told me earlier! I need to imagine winning the lottery more. It’s something I always do. How many first prize winners should I set? Including me, less than four…”
Having frequently daydreamed about winning the lottery, she even knew that first prize winners have a private elevator, and she smiled imagining 4.2 billion won after tax in her account.
[For the first time since reaching level up in imagination, you’ve hit the blue gauge!]
After filling the bar gauge to about 10%, a notification appeared on the status window.
[You’ve reached the blue point! Here’s a gift!]
“…A gift! Is it a trait or an item draw?”
[Crispy Fortune Cookie. Today’s fortune draw has arrived.]
“What?”
[Fortune cookies can tell today’s fortune. It might give useful information?]
“Useful information?”
[Would you like to draw a fortune cookie?]
“Sure. Let’s try it.”
[Please choose one of the three cookies.]
[1 / 2 / 3]
“Hmm… I’ll go with 1!”
[I’ll crack open cookie number 1. Snap.]
A hologram cookie appeared before her and split in half with a snap.
[A day full of changes is expected. If you want to achieve your goal, don’t hesitate and act.]
[Keywords of luck: #Black #Near_home #Bob_cut #Affection #Sensitivity #Camera]
“Changes? What am I supposed to do?”
Black, bob cut, near home… Hyesung repeated the keywords and then realized.
“Does this mean I should cut my hair? But it’s almost time to go!”
Hyesung hurriedly grabbed her suitcase and rushed out of the house.
She entered the nearest hair salon and urgently asked them to cut her hair to shoulder length.
Luckily, being a neighborhood salon, she got service right away and was out by 11:50 a.m., just in time to head to the presentation venue.
“Wow, I didn’t recognize you. It was you, Hyesung unnie?”
Cha Joo Yeon, who had just arrived, suddenly appeared between Lee Joo-ha and Hyesung.
“You also got bangs?”
“Yeah.”
‘I only asked to cut the length, but they cut bangs too, making my look completely different…’
Hyesung, feeling awkward with her new bangs, kept touching them.
“Wow… Your image has changed a lot.”
“Really?”
[Those around you have received a positive impression of your change. Your visual has increased by ☆! Current visual: ★★★]
Whether the fortune cookie information was accurate, her visual stat had risen to three stars.
‘…Do I look different to others now?’
“Unnie used to look like soft tofu, but now your facial lines are more defined… Is this the power of styling?”
Cha Joo Yeon stared intently at Hyesung’s face.
‘It seems I’ve changed a bit.’
“Oh, stop staring. It’s uncomfortable!”
“Unnie, you haven’t seen Yeonwoo yet, right? Wait a minute. I’ll bring Yeonwoo and see if she recognizes you.”
Cha Joo Yeon left the waiting room to fetch Na Yeonwoo from the next room.
“Yeonwoo, do you recognize who this friend is?”
“Huh?”
“That friend with the full bangs and bob cut.”
“Who?”
Na Yeonwoo slowly turned toward Hyesung.
‘Yeonwoo, could it be that you don’t recognize me…?’
“Joo Yeon, what’s wrong? It’s Hyesung unnie.”
Na Yeonwoo looked confusedly between Cha Joo Yeon and Hyesung.
“Oh, it was a joke. I thought she wouldn’t recognize you with the new hair.”
“Wow, you recognized her? I didn’t. Doesn’t she look different?”
“Joo Yeon, you’re the only one who didn’t recognize her. Even Joo-ha unnie knew it was her right away. Do you need LASIK surgery?”
Hyesung lightly smacked Cha Joo Yeon’s back and sat down.
Just a haircut and a 0.5-star increase wouldn’t change her so much that she wouldn’t be recognized. Hyesung took out her phone and checked her face in selfie mode.
‘…Who are you?’
The slightly blurred soft tofu-like look was gone, and now a slightly sharper-looking pretty girl was reflected on the screen.
‘♡ crap. Should I be happy about this…?’
Where did my face go? Did it go to the Middle East? Seeing her face had changed so much was surprising and a bit scary.
However, after examining closely, her features hadn’t changed, but her sharper face lines made her look significantly different.
‘Did I walk around with a blurred face… This feels weird.’
“Yeonwoo, doesn’t Hyesung unnie look a bit like someone now?”
“Like who?”
“Han Youngwon unnie.”
“What?”
Startled, Hyesung turned her head to Cha Joo Yeon’s words.
“Geez. Unnie, don’t make such weird sounds.”
“Who do I look like?”
“Han Youngwon unnie. You kind of look like sisters now. Right? Yeonwoo?”
“Uh, do I?”
Na Yeonwoo seemed unsure but nodded.
“No way! Not at all!”
Hyesung shook her head in disbelief.
‘Really not at all. She’s dark and sharp, a definite cat type, while I’m still…’
A soft puppy face.
Despite now fitting into the cold beauty category, Hyesung was under the big misconception that she still had a soft tofu-like innocent face.
“Totally not alike.”
“Is unnie upset?”
“It’s not that. But we don’t look alike at all. Not a single bit. Except that we’re both human. Joo Yeon, you really need LASIK. Should I find a hospital for you?”
“No, Hyesung. I kind of see it too. You do look a bit like Youngwon unnie…”
As Lee Joo-ha mentioned Han Youngwon’s name, the waiting room door burst open.
“Did someone mention my name?”
Han Youngwon stood at the door, timing it perfectly.
“The girls were saying Hyesung looks a bit like you. Check it out. Doesn’t she seem a bit similar with her new haircut?”
Han Youngwon walked over to Hyesung and stared at her face.
With a puzzled expression, Han Youngwon squinted and grabbed Hyesung’s face, turning it this way and that.
“Did you wash your hands? Do you know how many germs are on your hands to touch my face like…”
“You’ve gotten sharper. The atmosphere. Is that why they say you look like me?”
Han Youngwon cut off Hyesung’s words, turning to Cha Joo Yeon and Na Yeonwoo.
“Just the hair and the… kind of…”
Cha Joo Yeon stammered, looking nervous.
‘She teases me all the time but can’t be cheeky to Han Youngwon. Well, an 18-year-old would see a 24-year-old as a big adult.’
“Really? I don’t see it.”
“That’s what I said!”
Hyesung jumped up, agreeing with Han Youngwon.
