Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Rest
Li Huan and Tom drove with the music blasting and singing along, speeding through the streets of Nagazora City. As expected, there were far more assassins outside compared to Thousand Feathers Academy.
However, it was of no concern because Tom's battle vehicle was—
[Equipment Name: Tom's Battle Vehicle]
[Equipment Level: Perfect]
[Attack Power: Extremely High]
[Skill Description: A versatile super battle vehicle combining combat, accommodation, and daily living functions. It boasts extremely high attack and defense capabilities and can travel smoothly on any terrain. It is a major creation by Tom, the domestic cat.]
[Note: This vehicle uses 98 octane gasoline and requires only one liter to operate normally for an entire month. It only needs a five-minute charge to last for three months. The operation of this vehicle is extremely user-friendly, allowing even someone who hasn't driven for years to drive it proficiently.]
There was no need for further explanation; this was an incredibly powerful super battle vehicle with its superiority glaringly obvious. While Li Huan didn't fully understand its limits, he knew that as long as he was driving this vehicle, he was essentially invincible.
The only drawback was that the vehicle couldn't be stored in the inventory due to its size exceeding the inventory capacity.
Li Huan was curious about why Tom's sweater, though also perfect in quality, seemed far less impressive compared to this battle vehicle.
The Sakura System offered a simple answer:
[Even if the quality is the same, there are differences between these items. Tom's Battle Vehicle is at the peak level of perfection, while Tom's sweater is also remarkable with three useful effects that have no consumption or side effects, and it is extremely portable. In terms of utility, it is not inferior to the battle vehicle.]
Li Huan understood the reasoning.
After driving for half an hour and crushing numerous assassins with brute force, he arrived under a bridge.
"Let's stop here for today," Li Huan said, stopping the vehicle. He turned to Tom and instructed, "Activate camouflage mode."
Tom nodded and pressed a button on the control panel.
As Tom pressed the button, branches extended from the surface of the battle vehicle, camouflaging it. To an outsider, the vehicle instantly appeared as a large pile of grass about several meters long.
Though it looked amusing, once this camouflage was set up, even the King of Heaven himself wouldn't be able to find it.
Li Huan got out of the driver's seat, opened the door, and returned to the living room.
In the living room, Kiana and Bronya, now in new clothes, were sitting on the sofa watching TV, while the kitchen door was firmly shut.
"Have you adapted so quickly?" Li Huan asked, looking at Kiana and Bronya.
Kiana, with her hair loose and wearing a white T-shirt and denim shorts, lay casually on the sofa, looking far from the typical feminine image.
Bronya, on the other hand, wore a children's pajamas, with a single silver spiral bracelet remaining. She was focused on reading a book.
"Given that you've been crushing those assassins with the car, we don't really have anything to worry about," Kiana said, munching on popcorn she found somewhere, watching the movie in a relaxed manner. "And we're really tired, so it's better to just enjoy ourselves."
"You're quite easygoing…" Li Huan said, turning to Bronya, who remained absorbed in her book, seemingly uninterested in talking to him.
Li Huan considered it and decided to let Bronya be. If there was nothing to discuss, it was better to leave it at that.
"Tom, you stay here and watch TV," Li Huan said, patting Tom's head. Tom perked up immediately at the command.
Tom happily lay on the sofa, put his legs on the coffee table, and began eating sunflower seeds he grabbed from the table.
Li Huan then went to the kitchen, opened the kitchen door, and was met with a delicious aroma.
In the kitchen, Mei, wearing an apron and headscarf, was focused on cooking.
Noticing the door open, she turned and saw Li Huan.
"Ah, hello, Mr. Li Huan," she greeted.
Li Huan nodded and looked at the pot in front of Mei. "What are you cooking?"
"Yes, after washing up, I asked if they wanted a meal, and they agreed. But when I asked if they could cook, they said they couldn't," Mei said with evident frustration. "Bronya said to just eat compressed food because it's convenient and saves time and effort, and Kiana was even worse—she thought any dish could be cooked just by grilling it..."
Mei shook her head, "I couldn't stand it, so I had to cook myself."
"Thank you for taking the trouble," Li Huan sighed, "You're the only one who can cook."
"It's no problem. After all, everyone needs to contribute… By the way, Mr. Li Huan, why are you in the kitchen?"
"Oh, nothing much," Li Huan said, walking to the vegetable fridge and opening it. "Just fulfilling a promise I made to Tom to cook a big meal for him."
"I see."
Earlier on the rooftop, Li Huan had promised Tom a feast of chicken legs, mashed potatoes, and gravy to boost his spirits. This promise was not just a verbal commitment; now that they were temporarily safe, Li Huan intended to keep it.
He took ten or so potatoes from the vegetable fridge, then went to the meat fridge and took ten chicken legs and a large piece of pork.
"Mr. Li Huan, isn't this a bit much?" Mei asked.
"Yes, I initially promised him five portions, but after he helped fight with Bronya and built this vehicle, our current safety is thanks to his extra effort. Considering that, doubling it is justifiable."
"Mr. Li Huan, you're unexpectedly kind."
"And you're not?"
As they chatted, they began preparing the meal.
"Actually, I'm not very good at cooking either. Could you help me out?"
"Looks like it's up to me again!"
