Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Deluxe Gym Warehouse Hotel
Half an hour later, Li Huan reluctantly made his way to the gate of Thousand Feathers Academy.
Despite searching for a long time, he still hadn't found a place to sleep.
He had even gone to check the staff dormitory, but the terrible stench coming from there made him back off instantly.
That place was simply uninhabitable!
The staff might have understated it, but the dormitory was essentially a cesspool.
Even from a few meters away, he could see the horrifying sight of fecal matter scattered everywhere. It was too much to handle.
Li Huan quickly left the area. If Tom had been there, his sensitive nose might have been overwhelmed.
Afterward, he continued to search for a place to stay the night. But no matter where he went, nothing was suitable.
The security guards at the academic buildings wouldn't let him in, which was understandable.
After all, it wasn't appropriate to let a stranger into the buildings, and they might have even thrown him out if he tried to insist.
With no other options, Li Huan had no choice but to slink back to the entrance, feeling defeated.
"Today has been unusually unlucky... Could it be Friday the 13th?" he muttered to himself.
[Don't overthink it. If it were Friday the 13th, things would be much worse for you. Besides, it's only Monday]
"Am I really going to end up sleeping on the streets tonight?" Li Huan clicked his tongue in frustration. "On my first day in another world, I might have to sleep rough. What a miserable start."
[Compared to some people who get sold off for less than the price of a broom when they arrive in another world, you're actually doing pretty well.]
"You're talking about Uncle from Another World, aren't you? Don't make fun of other people's tragic experiences like that!"
While exchanging banter with the system, Li Huan arrived at the campus gate.
"Hmm, Tom isn't here yet."
The gate area was deserted... no, more accurately, there was no sign of Tom.
Time had passed, and Tom still hadn't shown up. Wait a minute?
Li Huan suddenly noticed something odd: there was a wooden signboard missing from the gate. It was one of those traditional arrow signs, seemingly pointing him in a direction.
As he looked at the sign, the system remarked, [It seems your problem has been solved.]
Hearing this, Li Huan had a hunch about what was going on.
Did Tom do this?
He walked up to the sign and saw that it had a neatly written message in Chinese: "Please follow this way."
"The Chinese characters are so neat..." Li Huan wiped the sweat from his forehead.
As expected of Tom.
After a moment of hesitation, he pulled the sign out of the ground. Leaving it there might cause trouble, so he decided to take it with him.
However, when he removed the sign, the ground was left completely intact, without even a hole.
Li Huan was no longer surprised; this was just Tom's power at work. You had to accept it with a smile.
With the sign in hand and a basket in the other, he followed the direction indicated by the sign and soon came across a second sign: "This way."
After pulling out the second sign, Li Huan continued walking and eventually arrived at a section of the sports field's wall.
He found himself at the back of the wall, close to the gym warehouse.
And then, he saw something that left him thoroughly baffled.
Inexplicably, a door had appeared in the wall, with a sign at the entrance that read: "Please knock."
Li Huan, speechless, walked up to the door and knocked on it.
He was extremely curious to see what this was all about.
After knocking three times, the door opened.
A red carpet suddenly rolled out from the entrance, causing Li Huan to instinctively step aside. Then, out of nowhere, a grandiose music started playing, and under the sound of this music, Tom made his entrance.
Tom was wearing a butler's uniform, which he had somehow acquired, and greeted Li Huan with a serious, dignified bow.
???
Li Huan didn't know where to begin with his comments.
After a long pause, he finally managed to say, "That's quite elegant."
After bowing, Tom gestured for Li Huan to follow him.
Seeing Tom's invitation, Li Huan had no choice but to enter.
Once inside, Tom closed the door behind them and led the way.
They walked into the gym warehouse.
Upon seeing the warehouse, Li Huan immediately understood.
"Did you find this place for us to rest? That's a good idea."
He turned to Tom and praised, "Well done."
But Tom shook his head and then pointed further into the warehouse, urging Li Huan to go in.
?
Although he didn't quite understand what Tom was getting at, Li Huan followed his lead and entered the gym warehouse.
And when he stepped inside, he was utterly shocked.
The gym warehouse was spotless, with no dust to be found. It had been cleaned and organized to perfection.
In the center of the warehouse, the gym mats typically used by students had been neatly arranged into a bed. A small mat had been fashioned into a pillow, and a blanket, stitched together from flags, sports nets, and foam from broken gym mats, lay on top.
Next to the bed was a horizontal bar for hanging clothes and several gymnastic vault boxes for storage.
The entire warehouse was immaculate, clean, and orderly, transformed into a luxurious hotel room without any flaws.
And there was no doubt that Tom had orchestrated it all.
Coming back to his senses, Li Huan couldn't help but pat Tom on the head.
"Tom, you really are the best cat."
Tom puffed out his chest proudly at his owner's praise.
Looking at the gym warehouse, Li Huan felt his worries melt away.
It seemed that he finally had a place to sleep tonight.
Without further delay, Li Huan placed the basket for Tom to sleep in beside the bed, then walked over to the bed, removed his clothes, and lay down on the makeshift bed.
The mattress felt surprisingly comfortable, with none of the expected discomfort from being too hard.
It seemed that Tom had carefully selected each mat. The blanket was equally good—warm and cozy.
Lying in the bed, Li Huan felt all the tension in his body ease away.
"I have to say, drawing Tom was really a stroke of luck."
Li Huan voiced his heartfelt gratitude as he lay there.
If he hadn't drawn Tom, he couldn't even imagine how he'd be sleeping tonight.
In the worst-case scenario, he might have ended up spending the night on a park bench outside, exposed to the elements.
But thanks to Tom, he could now enjoy a comfortable night in this gym warehouse!
Thank you, Tom!
