Chapter 16: Hueco Mundo Only Allows One Voice!
Facing Shendu's gaze and coercion, the Adjucha lowered their heads even deeper, wishing they could bury them underground.
It is not that Vasto Lorde was born in the Forest of Menos Grande.
But someone as ambitious as Shendu, at least everyone here has never seen such a being.
They haven't even heard of one.
The rumored Vasto Lorde in Las Noches has corresponding ambitions.
However, his existence is so ancient that it transcends conventional consideration.
Shendu didn't bother to pay attention to the Adjucha below.
After completely unifying the Forest of Menos Grande, leaving only one voice to echo within.
The system beep appeared again.
[The third step toward the ultimate has been completed.]
[Template progress increased: 20% → 25%.]
[Unlock the Bull Talisman.]
[Current Abilities: Dragon Body, Demonic Fire Qi, Dragon Talisman, Pig Talisman, Bull Talisman.]
[Reiatsu: First-Class Spiritual Pressure (Pending evolution)]
With the unlocking of the Bull Talisman, Shendu's dark green dragon body, seated above the throne, emitted a dull cracking sound reminiscent of firecrackers.
The perfect muscle lines twisted and wriggled visibly to the naked eye.
Shendu only felt as though he was a volcano about to erupt, with boundless power contained within every cell.
The Bull Talisman, representing absolute pure strength.
Although the Adjucha didn't know exactly what had transpired, as Menos Grande, they were best at sensing danger.
Their detection circuit not only identified enemy Reiatsu but also perceived fatal threats.
If the prior Shendu was merely a boulder weighing on the hearts of the Adjucha, the present Shendu was akin to a towering mountain.
Simply standing in the presence of their new king evoked a suffocating sense of ultimate dread.
This also made their trembling, prostrate bodies quiver even more violently.
Shendu was somewhat intoxicated by the power of this advancement and his ambition grew as well.
Now that he had begun establishing his own territory, the next step was clear.
Expand this domain to encompass all of Hueco Mundo!
Shendu didn't know the exact timeline, but Aizen could arrive in Hueco Mundo at any moment to initiate his plan.
Before that happens…
He must possess sufficient strength.
Strength enough to engage with Aizen as an equal.
This was Shendu's ultimate goal.
"Let's begin."
He placed his left hand on a pile of dry bones, propped his ferocious face with his right hand, and surveyed the Adjucha below with his blood-red eyes, his gaze exuding tangible oppression.
"Starting from the Forest of Menos Grande, expand outward across Hueco Mundo."
"If you encounter an enemy you cannot overcome, have Santos report to me."
"I will deal with it personally..."
The magnetic sound reverberated beneath the throne, imprinting deeply in the minds of the Adjucha.
While they trembled, uncontrollable excitement also surged within the hearts of these naturally ferocious beings.
As Menos Grande, beings inherently wild and untamed, how could they not feel bored by their monotonous existence?
If given the chance…
To make the entire world kneel before them…
What an exhilarating notion that would be.
Shendu observed the Adjucha, now mobilized and eager, his eyes remaining deep and calculating.
Unifying Hueco Mundo would be far more challenging than unifying the Forest of Menos Grande.
As a lower region, the Forest of Menos Grande housed few Adjucha with true combat prowess.
Most of the Adjucha here could barely withstand Shendu's Reiatsu, let alone fight him.
But Hueco Mundo was another matter entirely.
Coyote Starrk, who had tremendous reiatsu, and Baraggan Louisenbairn, the master of Hueco Mundo, were prime examples.
Even Shendu harbored little confidence against them.
Baraggan's power to decay and age was sufficient to dominate Hueco Mundo.
It was nearly impossible to confront him head-on without achieving a transcendent level of Reiatsu.
Yet, since Aizen had not yet arrived in Hueco Mundo officially, those Espada wandering across Hueco Mundo would ultimately belong to Shendu.
Shendu turned his gaze toward the vast pit that remained unfilled, where the moonlight shone.
The juxtaposition of blood red and ghostly white imbued a sense of tranquility, one entirely incongruent with the current environment.
The Adjucha emitted deafening roars, causing the ground to tremble and scattering gravel far and wide.
Under Santos's watchful eye, the Adjucha of the Forest of Menos Grande led their Gillian troops toward the Upper Zone.
Las Noches.
Baraggan gazed down at the figure shrouded in white bone with a cold, sharp glare.
"The newly evolved Vasto Lorde in the Forest of Menos Grande is called Shendu."
Short pink hair framed the ears of the speaker—it was unmistakably Szayelaporro.
In Baraggan's presence, he remained in his Vasto Lorde form, so as not to provoke the suspicion or ire of the arrogant king before him.
"He wields the power of fire, far surpassing the Reiatsu of others of his kind."
Szayelaporro hesitated for a moment but refrained from disclosing that Shendu's successful evolution was due to his intervention.
"His defenses are also extraordinary and cannot be breached by ordinary attacks."
Having said this, he raised his head to regard Baraggan directly and offered a flattering smile.
"But none of this poses any threat to you, the King of Hueco Mundo."
Baraggan flexed his bony hand and replied solemnly:
"As you can see, the power of time is invincible."
Through the moonlight, his skeletal palm appeared translucent, wreathed in an ominous black aura.
"Although I am uncertain of that creature's ultimate purpose..."
Szayelaporro's tone carried a hint of menace.
"It's clear that Shendu's ambitions are far more terrifying than I initially anticipated."
Even with his immense confidence in his own power, Baraggan couldn't fully conceal a flicker of displeasure upon hearing such words.
Hueco Mundo had no place for power-hungry schemers.
"Your Majesty, I implore you not to let this individual go unchecked."
It was only due to his unique status as Las Noches's foremost researcher that Szayelaporro could address Baraggan in this manner.
His innovations—architectural advancements, spiritual cuisine, and the development of Menos Grande abilities—had brought significant change to Las Noches.
Had it been another Menos Grande speaking such words, they would have been reduced to nothingness in an instant.
Baraggan directed his gaze toward the Forest of Menos Grande, his eyes narrowing ominously.
"Vasto Lorde Shendu..."
"Prepare for war."
"Hueco Mundo can have only one voice."
