Chapter 1: Christmas Past
Modesto, California December 24 2024
Twas the night before Christmas and within a small house our mc was stirring with his pet mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, while he debated which movie to share. He was nestled all snug on the fillings of his couch, while vision of sugar-plums pronounced around. When outside there arose such a clatter, he sprang from his couch to see what was the matter. Away to the window he flew like the flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. When infront of his eyes should appear… but an out of control sleigh with eight reindeer. As he stood frozen in fear he questioned for a moment where was St. Nick? Then BAM…
Darkness descend upon our MC quick, but as he faded in the darkness a song began "Here comes Santa Claus"

Where am I? What Just Happened?
Confusion, anger, fear, all these emotions ran through my mind as I tried to play out the events that lead me to this moment.
From what I could recall I was five movies into my Christmas movie marathon. Although estranged from my family I tried to keep the tradition of the Christmas movie marathon alive. It's not that we hated each other, but that we just grew to live different lives. Will they miss me? Will they question what happened to me? What will happen to Basil, did I leave him enough food?
As I keep asking myself questions in the darkness a strange incorporeal voice suddenly sounds
"Mortal your destiny has drastically changed from what was originally foretold."
Who are you?
"A representative of beings higher than all others. The universe has created a new destiny for you, a mission should you choose to accept that will return you back to the mortal realm"
Do I have any other choice? Will I return back to where I was in my own life?
"Your only other choice is for your slate to be swiped clean and unfortunately you will not be returning to your own universe. Rather you will be going to an universe that requires your presence, your Christmas spirit."
My Christmas spirit? Out of all the things that the universe would choose to focus on, why that? O well while I am sad about what just happened is there really anything that I can do that would change what happened… No. So all I can do is move forward and make use of what's available to me.

"Good on behalf of the universe I thank you for accepting this mission. In a second I will send you off to your new life and I wish you the best of luck… Santa Claus"
