in Russian Ukranian war with a system

Chapter 3: FUTURE PLANS

'Come in,' I ordered the subordinates.

"But sir, we are in an open environment, and there is nothing to enter, not even a tent."

And there goes my first impression. Well, I should salvage the situation now.

'Yes colonel I know that was just my muscle memory working up nothing serious. Well, let's forget about this incident and tell me how the surrounding environment and area are and have you settled the soldiers?.'

"Yes General I have already completed the work of soldier placement and also sent all of our scouts to see the area, and they will be back in fifteen minutes at most, and at that we will get a general idea of our surroundings."

'Excellent work, colonel.'

"Do not embarrass me, sir; it was my duty."

'Well, colonel, I have a work for you and all of the boys in the battalion that is of utmost importance.'

"Please tell me, sir, I will do everything in my power to do it."

'Well first of all, let the spies come back since I have to discuss something with all of you, and you should also go and place the soldiers in a defensive position, but first of all, build a command tent for me.'

"As you command, sir."

(Fifteen minutes later)

I was thinking about my future plans when suddenly a soldier called me, saying that the spies are back.

'Send them in with the captains and the colonel.' I replied, to which the soldier gave a simple reply of "Yes, sir.".

After some time, I saw them entering my tent and giving me a military salute.

"Sit down," I said, hoping that my voice sounded authoritative and not weak.

After receiving it, they all sat down on the ground. Well, I again forgot that I only have a single chair and table in my room, and that too was stolen or maybe plundered in my case. Well, to keep the embarrassment at bay, I also sat down on the ground and started to ask for the information from the spies.

'Can you tell me about the surrounding environment.?

"Sir, our surroundings are like this. It is officially the administrative center of Bakhmut urban hromada and Bakhmut Raion in Donetsk Oblast. The city is located on the Bakhmutka River, about 90 kilometers (55 miles) north of Donetsk, the administrative center of the oblast."

Thank God it has the same geography as my old world, so that means to me and my soldiers that it is a very strategic location for Russia. Strategically, a victory in Bakhmut could open up a path further west, possibly to Kramatorsk, a city with roughly 150,000 inhabitants in the war, which is very important and can turn this war to victory or defeat, which also means that there is a high chance that on 9–10 May, Ukrainian forces will launch counterattacks on Bakhmut's outskirts, expelling Russian troops from the southern bank of the Berkhivka Reservoir, located about 4 kilometers northwest of Bakhmut. So, the things I have to do are stop the Ukrainian counterattack, and if the chances are good, then capture more areas of Ukraine.

'Gentlemen, by seeing our situation, I have come to realize that there is a very high chance of the Ukrainian side attacking this area and recapturing it by force, so we need to make a strategy to defend it, and if the chances are good, then capture some more area. Is it clear?'

"Sir, I have a question to ask."

'Yes, captain, you can speak.' I replied to the young captain.

"Sir, sorry for asking this, but why are we entering this war, and even if we are entering, then why from Russia and not from Ukraine?"

'You asked a good question, captain, but I will give you the answer after our discussion because that is more necessary than this question.'

What reason should I give because I cannot say that "I think Russia is cooler than Ukraine, and it also helped my nation in the war of 1971; that is why I am trying to repay their kindness."

'So, gentlemen, you have five minutes to give me a good strategy for the upcoming battle.'

"YES,SIR"

What a loud shout they gave me. Well, I am free for five minutes, so that means

'System, where the hell are you?'

[YES, HOST YOU CALLED]

'Yes, I called because you said that they would follow my every command, but they are questioning it now. Tell me, how is it possible .?'

[HOST, I SAID THAT THEY WILL FOLLOW YOUR EVERY COMMAND, BUT I DID NOT SAY THAT THEY WILL NOT ASK YOU QUESTIONS AND GIVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS BECAUSE THAT IS VERY NECESSARY IN AN ARMY. JUST THINK ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY JUST FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS BLINDLY IN A WAR AND IN THAT SITUATION YOU GAVE THEM A WRONG STRATEGY THEN THE OUTCOME WILL BE A COMPLETE DEFEAT BUT BY QUESTIONING YOU THEY ARE MAKING YOU MORE EFFICIENT MORE OVER, THEY CAN ALSO GIVE YOU A BETTER STRATEGY THAN YOURS]

'Well, I guess you are right in this statement.'

[I AM ALWAYS RIGHT HOST]

'Fine, you won; actually, can you also provide good strategies for the upcoming battle?'

[YES, HOST, I CAN PROVIDE YOU THAT, BUT YOU HAVE TO SPEND PRESTIGE POINTS FOR THAT, WHICH YOU CANNOT DO SINCE YOU HAVE ZERO BALANCE.]

I should also think about a strategy then, so how about I copy the strategy of Sultan Suleiman in the battle of Mohacs, but at that time guns were not that famous, and there were not grenades and landmines; heck, there was not even the concept of that.

I think I know what to do. There are not many strategies of the world that I know, but there is one strategy that is used in every era, which is 'ambush.' I can simply wait for the enemies to come, and when they will be less vigilant, then we will kill them all without any mercy.

(after 3 minutes)

'The time is up, guys. Now let's discuss our strategies, and since I am the leader, I will go first, and also, you are completely free to point out my mistakes. Everything clear.'

"Yes sir"

'Now soldiers, my strategy is ambush, and it will be a very simple strategy. We will wait for our enemies to become less vigilant, and when they are not that attentive, then we will do a slaughter. Is not it a nice strategy now? Any objections or questions to it.?'

No one is raising hands, and everyone is looking at each other's faces. I knew this was a good strategy with no flaws; now they just have to agree with my plans.'

""""Sir, I have an objection.""""

and to my utter horror, every single person, even the spies included, has raised their hands in objection to my glorious strategy. I knew I was not built for leading armies, but this even the spies who have some minor military knowledge are going against me.

'Yes, please tell me what the mistakes are in my strategy?.'

"Sir, there are many mistakes in your strategy, but the most important is a lack of knowledge and equipment."

'Continue colonel."

"Sir, by that I meant that if we want to do an ambush then we have to hide our army, and to do that we need camouflage suits, which we do not possess. Moreover, we also lack the important information of the numbers of our opponents and their equipment. Just think about what will happen if their army possessed thermal vision goggles, then our army will be completely destroyed. I also wanted to talk about satellites, but they do not pose a danger since Russia has destroyed every single satellite, but there is still a danger of Russian military satellites, which are currently roaming over all of Ukraine. I am afraid that they have already seen us and have already sent soldiers to our location for our capture. Those are all the things that I can think of for now, sir."

What, sir, you have already given me a heart attack now.

"Sir, we have seen some movement to our rear; I think it's enemy troops who are here," replied a soldier who suddenly barged in my room.
