In The Abyss As A Toon Character

Chapter 10: Chapter 08 Foes

My vision blurred, and in just a blink of an eye, the world transformed around me, shifting into a dense jungle.

The humid air drenched my fur, clumping it to my body. This was not what I had expected... but at least it wasn't a hot place. Again... The feeling of disgust slowly crawled upon my body This OCD kicked in me again.

My voice breaks the silence.

"What should we do?"

Icaxis proposed the obvious "explore the place?"

"No shit Sherlock."

Winfred, a bit puzzled, asked, "Who is Sherlock?"

I mentally facepalmed, momentarily forgetting that we come from different worlds. After that, we decided that we needed a plan.

"Well, let's decide which direction to head towards."

"Left"

Icaxis: "Right"

Daniel "North"

Winfred "South"

Icaxis: "I think right is a great choi-"

I interrupted him, "Of course, we should go to the left. Most people tend to go right when they are lost."

Daniel: "What are you talking about? The system brought us here. There must be a reason."

Our eyes turned to Winfred.

Winfred: "Just a hunch, perhaps there is something behind us?"

After a small "chat," mainly between Daniel and me. Long story short, Daniel won.

We started walking, and I asked, "Icaxis, you said you were a sniper. Do you own a sniper rifle or bow?" as I mimicked the action of firing a gun.

his fingers started clicking the air, and then a gun materialized in his hands

by the looks is an old Barrett from my era

"Isn't that... too good?"

Icaxis: "Not at all. This has a massive downside. Every bullet costs me money. Not a petty sum either. Some special bullets, like elemental and magical rounds, are even pricier."

"Then how did you buy the sniper?"

Icaxis: "This? The system gave it to me with a discount."

"Eh... EH???" I couldn't contain my shock."

Icaxis: "Yes, it appeared in my inventory after finishing the tutorial."

My gaze turns to Winfred.

Winfred: "with me too, but instead I got A sword & shield."

My head slowly rotates to Daniel. "Daniel, you too...?"

Daniel: "A sword, along with this sword sheath."

My first reaction is to question the system angrily SYSTEM!!! Why didn't I get something?

"There are 2 reasons.

You are an aspect. The way aspects work differs from average players. Your god changed the first reward with something of similar value. Second, the type of ability you started with. "Assimilator players" are their own weapons. Only in selected cases are they given a starter weapon."

The ticket... the fricking ticket was my Gift...

Daniel: "What's the matter?"

"Nothing. They just didn't give me a weapon because of the nature of my skill."

As we continued walking, I realized Daniel was leaving marks behind us. I didn't give it much importance. My attention was on maintaining the halo of my rocks above my head.

Icaxis: "Why do you keep moving rocks to form a halo?"

"To train my telekinesis"

Icaxis: "But don't you already know how to use it?"

"not at all." the halo above my head was quite big now, working like an umbrella providing shadow from the sun.

Icaxis: "Hey, can you lift me in the air?"

Winfred: "I already Tol-"

"Sure." Can I? no idea, so let's find out

Daniel: "Won't that waste energy?"

I reassured him, "Not at all, not at all my mana pool is quite big."

Around Icaxis's body, a blue layer starts coating him. His body begins to slowly levitate, though just a few inches in the air. Then the aura surrounding Icaxis popped, falling to the ground with a chuckle.

"Sorry, it's weird to move a living being." The difference between moving something alive and inanimate Are two completely different experiences.

Daniel: "Winfred, appart from having a high resistance  What else can you do?..."

We kept walking north, mostly talking about our abilities, classes, and how we could best work together. QUICK RESUME: Winfred can heal himself, but it's pretty slow. Icaxis has Night vision. According to Daniel, he can enhance himself for a short-term boost.

After 5 minutes of nothing more than dense vegetation, we finally found something a green fantasy creature, one of the most common and weakest foes in most books.

In unison, Icaxis and I shouted: "A goblin!"

Winfred & Daniel: "What?"

Our first encounter was a goblin. Something notable was that the goblins didn't have rags. Instead, they wore actual clothes that were kinda old and of doubtful quality.

"Let me try something," the goblin emits a shining glow, falling to the ground. I could feel how he was struggling fiercely. For a moment, it seemed he might break free.

"Daniel stab hi-" Before I could even finish my sentence, Daniel had already thrust forward, impaling his blade into the goblin's chest

If this was a game, this would be the moment when a screen pops up telling me I killed him

A whistle shattered the silence. six more goblins pointing at us

Goblins: "%$&# %#& (%/=? ?= +¿($" they are screaming something. The language barrier prevented me from understanding. Their expressions conveyed fear and anger.

Daniel and Winfred went quickly to the front. Icaxis and I in the rear

I hoped they would throw themselves at us mindlessly, but that was shattered as they quickly formed a combat formation.

Icaxis: I'll start to shoot if something goes wrong

The first exchange happens. The sound of swords clashing and swinging can be heard.

I focused my telekinesis on slowing down the goblins primarily targeting us, switching between one target or taking three simultaneously, depending on their actions.

A dagger is hurled at me. I slowed it down. Rendering it static before it pierced me. "Tsk." They already realized that I was the one slowing them down

How have six goblins survived for so long? Teamwork. These goblins aren't like the ones depicted on my earth. They are clever and have exceptional coordination instead of mindless savages.

Despite the intensive of the battle, neither Daniel nor Winfred had more than a few scratches, and the goblins were in the same.

Suddenly, an arrow is fired from the vegetation, heading straight at me. I used my telekinesis to halt it mid-air, narrowly avoiding it.

From a different direction, another arrow is fired, accompanied by a deafening echo that reverberates throughout the place. Even the goblins were stunned by the vibrant noise.

Icaxis Sniper was leaving a trail of smoke, and the lifeless body of a goblin was lying on the ground. Daniel capitalized on their reaction, killing one goblin.

Icaxis: "What's the point of saving bullets if all of us end up dead?"

...

FF: Aqarath's name was made between the fusion of the names Aqassa and Nerath, which are music/OSTs orchestra style. they are Fanmade (MLP) But quite good, frankly

(Nerath Goddess Of Nightmares) (Aqasha Goddess of Destruction) The one who hooked me was praise Nerath
