In The Apocalypse With My Sacred Dimension System

Chapter 30: Important Step

The three of them fell silent when they heard the commotion that occurred on the 13th floor, even the typical zombie growl was heard from behind the door that separated the emergency stairs and the 13th floor.

The first person who dared to speak up was Geoffrey, he whispered in fear to Theodore who was not far from him.

"Big brother, I think this floor has been overrun by zombies. Do we have to save the remaining people on this floor?" With a trembling body Geoffrey turned to Theodore.

"We don't have time to save anyone, we better move faster now," Theodore replied, feeling that they couldn't save anyone else at the moment.

Although they had weapons, if they faced many zombies at once Theodore would also be very difficult.

Moreover, Theodore also had to keep Roxanne and Geoffrey safe from the zombie attacks that sounded quite numerous on the 13th floor.

"But, how do we proceed at this point?" Roxanne's voice sounded trembling with fear.

The sounds from the 13th floor were truly terrifying with the screams and growls of the zombies giving goosebumps.

In fact, Roxanne could feel her legs softening at this moment, but she also knew that they had to keep moving.

Because if they stayed here, the people on the 13th floor might run to the fire escape and get them in trouble.

"Walk with slow steps, don't make any noise." Theodore spoke with a serious look on his face.

Honestly, even at this moment Theodore felt goosebumps all over his body, he had experienced life-threatening situations like this before.

But, when feeling it again Theodore still couldn't get used to it, even he could feel his heart beating very fast at this time, making his adrenaline rush.

Then, Geoffrey and Roxanne were seen nodding their heads in agreement with Theodore's words.

"Before that, turn off that flashlight, Roxanne." Theodore immediately ordered Roxanne to put away the flashlight she was still holding.

Roxanne quickly did as Theodore told her.

"Geoffrey, you will lead the way. Stop when you get to the 14th floor, wait for me there. Roxanne you will follow Geoffrey from behind, I will stand guard at the back." Theodore then explained their plan.

"Me in the front? Are you sure, big brother?" If Geoffrey hadn't remembered that they shouldn't make noise, he would have shouted in shock.

"Of course, do you want to guard the back area?" Theodore furrowed his brow as he replied to Geoffrey.

"Not really," Geoffrey replied while scratching the back of his head.

Geoffrey finally agreed to Theodore's plan and they began to move. Starting with Geoffrey who began to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor.

Then, followed by Roxanne who still looked trembling. Then after making sure the two of them started to move from the 13th floor, Theodore began to follow them.

He occasionally looked back to make sure that the people on the 13th floor did not run to the emergency stairs.

However, the silence they maintained was shattered when the sword Theodore was holding accidentally slammed into the banister and made a loud sound.

Theodore looked at his waist in horror, without waiting for long Theodore immediately shouted his instructions to Geoffrey and Roxanne.

"Run! Don't stop until you reach the floor of our apartment!" Theodore knew that the survivors on the 13th floor would definitely come to them for help.

And Theodore knew that helping them would not be good for them because those people would only want them as a distraction from the zombies.

Hearing Geoffrey and Roxanne's footsteps running up the stairs, Theodore wasn't stupid enough to stay there, he immediately ran away himself.

However, just as Theodore had expected he heard the sound of door knobs moving from the 13th floor and sure enough the people went to the fire escape and made the zombies follow them.

Luckily there was no light along the stairs so the people from the 13th floor had no idea which way Theodore and the others were running.

The people ran away and separated in panic, some went downstairs and some ran upstairs.

Fortunately, Theodore and the others made it to the 15th floor safely and Theodore immediately ordered them to go inside their apartment because the people who fled to the upper floors would surely arrive soon.

"Quickly go inside your apartment. Don't forget to lock all your doors and don't open the door for anyone." Theodore quickly warned them.

Fortunately, there was no drama at that time, so Theodore went straight into his apartment after confirming that Geoffrey and Roxanne had already entered their apartment.

Theodore quickly locked his apartment, even the digital and manual padlocks that he had installed on his door were immediately activated.

Not long after they were all safely inside their respective apartments Theodore could clearly hear the sound of hurried footsteps on the floor of their apartment.

They quickly banged on the door of Theodore and Roxanne's apartment many times, even trying to force the door open.

"These bastards are really shameless, they even tried to break into someone else's apartment," muttered Theodore still with labored breathing after running down the two floors of the apartment.

Fortunately Theodore had installed a camera in front of his apartment door, so he could check who was passing by in the corridor of his apartment.

After he was much calmer Theodore moved to see how many people were upstairs in their apartment.

Theodore was smart enough to coat his monitoring camera with night vision, so he could detect in the dark.

"There are quite a few, it looks like they're a group." Theodore saw that there were about five people who decided to go upstairs.

And they were banging on the door of their apartment incessantly. Theodore was quite worried about Geoffrey and Roxanne's situation.

Given that they had no prior preparations, Theodore was afraid that these people would manage to break into the apartment.

At least Theodore had reminded them to keep quiet, so surely these people would think that the person who escaped was not on the 15th floor.

It was just that Theodore didn't know when these people would decide to leave the 15th floor corridor. It seemed like they could only wait until the military members made sure the area was safe and took care of the zombies in the perimeter.

Actually, Theodore didn't really know how long the military forces in City A could stabilize this area and start forming a base in this neighborhood.

But, as far as Theodore knew City A was one of the first cities to establish a base in the entire country, so he believed that sooner or later the military forces would come to ensure the survivors in this neighborhood.

"I hope their apartment can wait until the military troops arrive." Theodore's job was done now.

So, Theodore decided to go to the bathroom to clean himself up which was already dirty with traces of blood and also the disgusting things from the zombies he killed.
