Chapter 17: Chapter -17 Going out again.
Chapter -17.
Upon returning to the guest room, Theodore continued to ponder the matter of the troubling dark mark he had created in Diagon Alley. "Why was such an explosive story buried by those nosy guys? It could have boosted newspaper sales significantly."
Although his little incident had only garnered the attention of a few, but it still would've reached the ears of those reporters fellow, but now it appeared that the Ministry had reacted harshly and quickly suppressed it. "I suppose the little baldy terror is still lurking among us in the wizarding community."
Joking aside, Theodore realised how things operated. If he intended to create chaos, it would need to be substantial enough that even the Ministry couldn't simply suppress it, perhaps even attracting mass amount of spectators to ensure it wouldn't be easily dismissed.
With this new strategy forming in his mind, Theodore decided to let the dark mark of the death eater sink into obscurity. It was also time to head to Knockturn Alley to acquire a magic lantern and ask about the Pensieve. Embracing his Muggle side, he changed into a nice green robe reminiscent of his days with snakes.
Looking sharp, Theodore moved toward the door, planning to use the Floo Network, when a sudden knock halted him. Recognizing it as Bellatrix, he worried she might come seeking revenge. With cautious steps, he opened the door halfway and asked, "Yes, is there something you need?"
It truly was Bellatrix, but instead of appearing like an angry witch, she looked somewhat cute, which even encouraged Theodore, who had been a bit scared earlier, to open the door a bit wider to see her. However, managing to push that thought aside, he continued to gaze at her while waiting for her reply.
For a moment, Bellatrix remained silent, but then parting her glossy lips, she said, "I was curious if I could join you on the shopping trip you were planning to take?" Her eyes wandered as she spoke.
"Shopping? Do you also want to buy something? Or as I sensed, you really are getting bored at home," Theodore asked with a teasing smile, finally opening the door fully since Bellatrix hadn't come to cause trouble for him.
"Something like that; and anyway, as you mentioned, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed in this house doing nothing." Although she didn't want to admit that she was getting bored and her mind was becoming increasingly chaotic, especially if it weren't for the man in front of her, she realized it would be quite difficult in the future if she kept denying it, so she chose to accept her situation a bit earlier.
"Wow, I can't believe you admitted that," Theodore was genuinely surprised to hear Bellatrix, but at the same time, he couldn't help but think about other matters as well.
Although the issue of the Death Eater's Dark Mark was brushed aside, the Aurors were still present, conducting their inspection in Diagon Alley, indicating their interest in the situation while also wanting to prevent it from escalating and causing unnecessary chaos in the normal wizarding community.
At the same time, Kreacher had mentioned that he had seen the Auror involved in Bellatrix's arrest, which meant there was a possibility of her being recognized, as there is a significant difference between a normal person's memory and an Auror's observance; and he was not in the mood to take any risks. However, since Bellatrix wanted to accompany him, he couldn't refuse her, especially since it was she who had suggested the idea.
"Alright, since you're being honest, I think I'll let you come with me," Theodore said. But inside, he was wondering how he could make her hide her face just a little. He knew he could use a charm to slightly alter her appearance, but that wasn't going to be easy since it was Bellatrix right in front of him.
His worries were quickly put to rest a few minutes later when Bellatrix walked out of her room, dressed in a stunning fiery white robe that suited her even better than her usual black attire.
"Why the mask?" he asked, noticing the black mask covering the lower part of her beautiful face. He felt a bit relieved that he wouldn't have to deal with his earlier concerns after all.
"Just to be safe; I think there might be a few people who could recognize me, even with my younger looks. It's better to be careful than sorry later," Bellatrix replied. It wasn't that she was worried about being caught; she just didn't want to cause any trouble for the man in front of her if someone recognized her.
"Good thinking! You really are as smart as everyone says," Theodore said with a smile, pleased with how things were turning out. "Now that you're ready, shall we head out?" He extended his hand, and after a moment of thought, Bellatrix took it and called out, "Kreacher!"
Kreacher, who had been busy cleaning the last few rooms of the house which were full of cobwebs and many other disgusting things, appeared with a loud pop, saying, "Mistress called for Kreacher?"
"Yes, please take us to the location Theodore tells you," she said, hoping to avoid that awful muggle vehicle or the floo network that might dirty her robe.
Theodore, somewhat understanding what might going through her mind, looked at Kreacher and gave him the destination. As soon as Kreacher clasped their hands with his tiny one, the three of them vanished from the corridor, reappearing in an alley that had a rather unpleasant smell.
"Are you sure this is the place where you want to buy the magic lantern?" Bellatrix asked, aware of the kind of trouble that could happen here.
"Oh, is someone worried about me getting mugged?" Theodore teased, a playful smile on his face.
Bellatrix, however, chose to ignore him and turned her attention to the little house-elf. "You can go back to the house, Kreacher," she said before moving forward, still not acknowledging Theodore.
