Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Adoption
From a distance away, the five-year-old daughter of Rodnivus played ball, and occasionally would turn to watch and admire her father the simple farmer till the fields of Cebilastan. Though working in the fields was technically work for Rodnivus, he actually enjoyed the work. He would probably do the work just for fun or do it as a way to relax even if he did not make living from it. That was how much he enjoyed being out in nature.
Cebilastan was one of the rogue Nation states that surrounded Natovis. When one thinks of the word rogue, they think of a state that is maybe dangerous, uncontrollable, or completely run amok. Though there were rouge states that met these criteria for sure, Cebilastan was called a "rogue" state only because it was independent from the City of Natovis. It was a fairly peaceful, mostly agrarian society.
They were also a very religious people. The majority of their population were members of the Covenant of the Outer lights. Nearby was the Steplathon, a magnificent structure primarily where religious ceremonies were held. It was the most extraordinary structure for several hundred miles. Within the Steplathon, an orphanage was also held.
Arturian Noble the Greater long admired the people of Cebilastan for their pride in their hard work.
As the daughter continued to watch her father till the fields, she heard an engine, then she saw a magnificent ship hovering above her father and slowly lower itself onto the land. The ramp underneath the ship opened up and a figure in a long cloak walked out. Rodnivus stopped what he was doing, and jogged over to meet the figure, and shook his hand.
She watched with curiosity as her father then ran over to the Steplathon, while the figure stood outside of the ship appearing to wait for something. About 5 minutes later, Rodnivus would come out of the building carrying something wrapped in a blanket in both hands. It was size of a large bag of potatoes. He walked back over to the figure, bowed, and handed him the object. The figure waved and walked into the other direction. The ramp closed, then the ship flew away. Rodnivus' daughter sat there confused wondering why someone would come all the way out here for a bag of potatoes.
