Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Saw Nothing
"What? Ms. Wilcox wants me in her office?"
When Yusuf Zuck received the call from security chief Samuel Ross, he was sitting in a 4S shop drinking coffee, and his car would not be ready for another hour.
Fleur Carson had already left, after all, her taxi was still parked in the hospital parking lot.
"Yeah, it sounds urgent, you should run to Ms. Wilcox's office right away, but hey, I think you're in luck, pal. Get going!" Samuel Ross laughed and teased over the phone, he wasn't a fool, he had just heard Ruth Wilcox talking about someone clever, someone strong, and someone who could drive—obviously looking for a driver. So Yusuf Zuck's luck had come, maybe he would even have to suck up to Yusuf Zuck in the future.
Drivers usually end up becoming trusted confidants!
"I got it." Yusuf Zuck hung up, thought for a second, and then immediately called Ruth Wilcox. His car was still here, so he couldn't leave.
When the phone rang once, Ruth Wilcox's voice came through: "Yusuf, thanks for last night." She knew Yusuf had visited her in the hospital last night because Lara Tuff had just told her.
"Is everything okay with you, Ms. Wilcox? I'm at the 4S shop getting your car fixed—it will take an hour. Is there something else you wanted to see me for?" Yusuf Zuck asked.
"How's the car running?" Instead of mentioning what she wanted, Ruth Wilcox inquired about her car.
"Uh… It's great, really great." Yusuf Zuck was startled for a second before nodding repeatedly. How could it not be great? It cost over two million.
Ruth Wilcox just chuckled: "Nothing specific, we'll talk when you get back to my office."
"Alright."
"Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
The two hung up simultaneously, and Yusuf Zuck was a bit baffled—what was the boss thinking?
…
Meanwhile, in the suite of the hotel, Lara Tuff wore a sly smile and said to Ruth Wilcox, "Why not come clean? How did you get involved with the little security guard?"
"What are you talking about, it sounds so terrible? He's the one... you know, the 'Sixteen-Abs Guy' from last time, the spicy hotpot guy!" Ruth Wilcox whispered.
"Ah? It's him? What happened, how did he become a security guard at your company?" Mia Lara Tuff looked shocked. She knew about the big hotpot mix-up Ruth Wilcox had; they were besties and practically had no secrets from each other. It was Lara Tuff who had egged Ruth on to eat hotpot in the first place.
After thinking for a moment, Ruth Wilcox said, "I looked into it afterward, and he got hired as our security guard that very morning, and then it just happened that he ran into me at the hotpot place when I didn't have my money. I only found out yesterday that he was a security guard here; I had no idea before."
Lara Tuff laughed, "Ha, could it be such a coincidence? But you have to make sure he doesn't blab, you can't let him spread rumors."
"He's too clever for that, there's no way he'll blab," Ruth Wilcox whispered.
"What sort of clever? Hang on… hang on… there's definitely something fishy between you two, some sort of affair. How do you know he's clever? And why are you blushing?" Lara Tuff felt something was off with Ruth Wilcox. All Yusuf Zuck did was pay her meal bill, and Ruth said she only found out yesterday that he worked at her company, but Ruth was avoiding eye contact. What was she hiding? What secret had occurred between them?
"Don't talk nonsense, what could there possibly be between him and me... you're really bad." Ruth Wilcox and Lara Tuff started rolling around on the bed, playfully wrestling with each other.
With Lara Tuff's company, Ruth Wilcox's spirits lifted quickly, and besides, Ruth Wilcox herself was a strong woman, with tougher mental fortitude than the average female.
After a good half day of commotion, Lara Tuff finally laughed and said, "I'll interview him personally with you later. Although he can drive and is pretty clever, it's still not enough—he must be able to fight. If he can last ten rounds against 'Leo King,' we'll consider him barely qualified. In the meantime, I'll slowly find someone better for you and then we'll replace him!"
"Last ten rounds against Leo King?" Ruth Wilcox stuck out her tongue. "That Leo is so formidable; Yusuf Zuck can't possibly be his match."
"What 'Leo'? He's just a bodyguard. Listen to me, our identities, our social status, they don't allow for anything to happen with a bodyguard. Make sure you don't get carried away when the time comes, or let a little security guard snag your heart."
"Me? I wouldn't dream of it. But what about you? Haven't you had some 'more-than-friends' scenes with your Leo?" Ruth Wilcox said with a mischievous smile.
Lara Tuff pouted, "He's just a bodyguard. Even if I wanted to ****, I wouldn't pick him!"
"Then who have you picked?" Ruth Wilcox pressed on.
"Isn't that why I've brought you here? C'mon, give me, my little Ruth Ruth..." Lara Tuff exaggeratedly leaned in to kiss Ruth Wilcox, who called her a pervert and ran away, hopping off the bed.
After their play fight, sensing Yusuf Zuck would soon return, they freshened up, dressed, and together left the suite to head to the office on the twenty-eighth floor.
Leo King, Lara Tuff's bodyguard, naturally followed behind, but he did not enter the office and instead stood guard outside the office door!
"See? Leo King is professional. Now, just let that Yusuf Zuck be your temporary driver for a few days. I'll find you a better one in a bit." Inside the office, Lara Tuff sat in Ruth Wilcox's place, her long legs on the desk. Wearing a skirt, her pose was indecent, and anyone who entered could see her *****.
"He is professional, cold and distant. But the way you look at him is a bit different. You better be careful not to be gobbled up by him!" Ruth Wilcox chuckled.
"All men are the same, dirty-minded to the core, pretending to be gentlemen on the surface. He's too timid. He probably fantasizes about me thousands of times in his mind, and goes back at night to jerk off god knows how many times, but in front of me, he wouldn't dare show any disrespect. Men are all hypocrites."
"Ring, ring, ring..." Just then, the intercom on the desk rang, and Ruth Wilcox casually pressed the speakerphone button.
"Ms. Wilcox, security officer Yusuf Zuck is here, he says you called for him," the secretary Dong's voice came through.
"Hmm, let him in," Ruth Wilcox replied and then turned to Lara Tuff, "Put your legs down, he's coming in."
"I'll leave them here; what's he going to do, dare to look? A little security guard, does he have the guts?" Lara Tuff said disdainfully.
"My dear lady, he just might..." Ruth Wilcox was in a flurry of anxiety. Yusuf Zuck was even bold enough to flirt with her, was Lara Tuff's turn far behind? Hence, Ruth Wilcox circled the desk, trying to get Lara Tuff's legs down.
However, at that moment, the office door was pushed open and Yusuf Zuck stuck his head in with a grin, looking towards the desk!
Yet, as he looked at the desk, his eyes suddenly went wide, unblinkingly gazing up and down at the legs-propped-up Mia.
"Oops, I didn't see anything, saw nothing at all!" Yusuf Zuck exaggeratedly claimed while leaning sideways, tilting his head, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. Despite his mouth claiming he saw nothing, his eyes took full advantage, continuing to unabashedly stare!
Lara Tuff got the scare of her life from Yusuf Zuck. She had never imagined that this little security guard would be so audacious as to actually look at her, so she frantically put her legs down.
At this point, Ruth Wilcox found herself both annoyed and amused—annoyed that Yusuf Zuck's lecherous nature hadn't changed, but amused that Mia had finally been scared by a man.
