Chapter 66: 66 The Powerful Bete Loga!
"Bete-san, there's a monster over here!"
"I'm coming!"
A white figure flashed by, quickly appearing in front of the monster that had just spawned from the wall. With one swift kick, the figure smashed the monster's head like a watermelon, instantly killing it on the spot!
"Bete-san, there's another monster here!"
"Huh? On my way!"
The white figure launched forward again, rapidly closing in on a newly spawned monster. Raising his right leg, he delivered a side kick, blasting the monster's head from the side and instantly killing it.
After smashing the monster's head with one kick, Bete couldn't help but catch his breath. He glanced at Altair, who was standing beside Lefiya holding up a dialogue board. Bete gritted his teeth and kept running.
It was exhausting, so freaking exhausting.
Altair had joined this team as Bete's fan and didn't intend to do much. He simply watched from the sidelines, acting as a supporter and helping them gather magic stones.
Since Altair was his fan, Bete didn't mind and was even a bit happy about it, though he was somewhat speechless about Altair's earlier claims of kicking a dragon and a floor boss to death.
However, Bete had no idea that this was only the beginning.
After adding Altair, their three-person team became a four-person group, and they continued deeper into the dungeon. But as they ventured further, every time a monster appeared, Altair would jump out, holding up his dialogue board.
[Monsters of this level can't withstand even a single strike from Bete-san!]
[Ladies, you don't need to lift a finger for monsters like these. Bete-san can handle them in an instant.]
[Only this many monsters? This is nothing but an insult to Bete-san by the dungeon!]
Each time a monster appeared, just as Lefiya and Ais prepared to take action, Altair would block them with his dialogue board and then look expectantly at Bete.
Under Altair's gaze, Bete had no choice but to charge forward and eliminate the monsters. Fortunately, they weren't too deep into the dungeon, and the monsters weren't particularly strong. With Bete's strength, he could easily take care of them.
But even so, constantly running back and forth to deal with every monster by himself was utterly exhausting for Bete.
"Bete-san, another one has appeared!"
Lefiya, like an announcer, informed Bete of the newly spawned monster. Bete quickly took a deep breath and dashed over, delivering another kick to the monster's head, killing it.
Normally, Bete preferred kicking monsters in the stomach or chest, but Altair's commentary on the dialogue board had forced him to aim directly for their weak spots.
The reason? The first time Bete kicked a monster in the chest, Altair immediately held up his dialogue board.
[As expected of Bete-san, possessing absolute power, he doesn't even bother attacking the monster's weak point. He chooses to crush it head-on with sheer force!]
The result? Bete's kick didn't kill the monster instantly, which made him feel a bit awkward. But then, Altair quickly put up another dialogue board.
[As expected of Bete-san. For him, the dungeon is like a playground, and fighting is just a game. Even though he could kill his foes, he toys with them, making the monsters feel despair, delivering the most brutal blow!]
What the hell? Does that work too?
So, Bete had no choice but to attack with full force every time, targeting only the monsters' weak points to ensure he could kill them instantly, so as not to reveal the truth.
After taking down the latest monster with one strike, Bete was panting heavily.
However, it seemed like the dungeon was working against him. Suddenly, several more monsters spawned, surrounding Bete. One of the monsters appeared behind him and immediately launched an attack.
Bete quickly rolled away to avoid the strike. The sudden evasive maneuver left him out of breath. He was already exhausted, and now, with even more monsters appearing, he really wanted to call for backup.
"Bete-san, watch out!"
[No need to worry. Bete-san won't be in any danger.]
Lefiya wanted to help, but Altair's dialogue board perfectly blocked her.
"But Bete-san looks really tired."
[Tired? Not at all! That's not a sign of Bete-san being tired.]
"Huh? Bete-san isn't tired?"
Lefiya looked at Bete in confusion. Hearing her words, Bete also glanced at Altair, confused.
'What do you mean I'm not tired? Do I not look tired right now?'
But Altair, with a resolute expression, held up another dialogue board.
[That's right. The reason Bete-san is breathing heavily isn't because he's tired; it's because he's about to use his special skill.]
'Huh? Special skill? What special skill do I have?'
Bete was stunned. Did he have some hidden ability that he wasn't aware of?
[Bete-san is a werewolf, and werewolves have incredibly powerful bodies. This powerful body allows him to push past limits that humans and other races cannot reach. To unleash this extreme strength, he needs to take deep breaths, drawing massive amounts of air into his lungs while maintaining a special breathing rhythm. This rhythm allows Bete-san to draw power from his breathing, enhancing his attacks to a greater level of power. This is the legendary technique that only werewolves can use, the Wolf's Breath!]
'Why have I, as a werewolf, never heard of this?'
While frantically complaining in his mind, Bete ducked to dodge another attack. After evading, he raised his leg and landed a brutal kick on the monster's head, killing it again.
However, what Bete didn't realize was that the constant high-kick strikes to the monsters' heads were consuming his energy even faster. He had already lost count of how many monsters he had killed, and now, every kick was draining him significantly.
After dodging another attack by stepping back, Bete's breathing grew even more labored, but he couldn't afford to stop. After all, Altair had just said all that, and as Bete glared at the monsters, trying to figure out how to finish the fight quickly, Lefiya's voice came from beside him.
"So that's it. Bete-san has such a hidden ability?"
What? What hidden skill? What did he say this time?!
Bete quickly glanced over at Altair, or more accurately, at the dialogue board Altair was holding up. A new line of text had appeared.
[Lefiya-san, look, isn't Bete-san breathing more heavily? And his eyes are starting to turn red. This shows he's about to enter the berserker state that can only be triggered after using Wolf's Breath. In this state, Bete-san will become exceptionally bloodthirsty, with every monster in sight as his target. He will use his ferocious strength to slay all his enemies!]
'No! I don't have that! I've never heard of Wolf's Breath, and I certainly don't have a berserker mode!'
Bete widened his eyes, staring daggers at Altair as if he could kill him with his gaze alone. However, the more he stared, the redder his eyes became, further convincing Lefiya and even Ais that what Altair said was true.
Even Ais, who had been quietly observing without saying anything, now had a slightly more serious expression on her face.
"Bete, I didn't know you were this strong."
