Isekai: A Final Fantasy

As we reached the final resting place of any pilgrimage, I had reached a point of wondering whether my plan would truly work.

Not much was know about the final battle and how it would affect the story. 

I just hope....No, I wont tempt Murphy. 

This plan WILL work. 

It must.

As Braska reached the edge of the chasm, we waited with bated breathe.

"Auntie, no matter what, you must stick close to me. We only got one shot at this and I can't afford to mess it up."

Aunt Ellie was also stiff as a board but she gave me a tiny nod.

Aunt Ellie looked very worried. 

I honestly do not blame her.

She was about to witness the final battle of this pilgrimage.

The same journey that was known to end in the summoner and guardians death.

How Auron made it out alive, we can never know.

My theory and hope is that once Sins armor is pierced, the evil spirit responsible for all this death would take control of Jecht and Jecht in turn would kill its summoner after expelling itself from Braska. 

Just then, Braska flared his power and shining golden hue seemed to dispel into the surrounding air.

Braska looked like a beacon as if trying to challenge Sin's authority.

It did not take long but about 15 minutes in something akin to a whale slash I don't know what hybrid flew out of the chasm itself.

Seriously, the thing looked like an apocalyptic mutation of a sperm whale with weird ridges on its tale and a crystalline/flowery mane around its neck.

Also its flying.

"hmm, I thought Sin travels around the world causing calamities. How did it end up in the chasm?"

I started pondering as I watched the huge whale release countless spikes on its body to attack Braska.

We both sat there and watched. 

Braska was awe inspiring as he held is staff at the base.

The staff itself started to release a condensed light that took shape to that of a double bladed Buster sword.

The sight was awesome. Both Auron and Braska were covering each others backs and multitudes of them were slain by the hundreds at a time. 

Each swing Braska took released a light beam and every once in a while a slash would fly at Sin itself.

Auron was fighting like a demon. 

He was swift and precise with each swing.

As the last dregs made their way towards them, Auron suddenly jumped up and stabbed the ground as an explosion around him ensued as it devastated all the enemy at once.

"Guess that was Dragon Fang" 

I saw it in the games and it looked awesome, but in real life the impact was real as well as tremendous.

Just to make it clear, we were unharmed. 

Both me and Auntie hid in between a cluster of rocks near the edge.

Braska and Auron both turned around to look at Sin.

Braska held his staff in front of him in both hands as he started to glow and grow bigger until he grew larger than even Sin itself.

His form itself started to change into that of his final summon and what used to be his staff morphed into a sword as he raised it above his head.

"This is the end Sin. We WILL stop you this time...for Spira."

As he said his last words, He released a mighty swing as it cleaved sin itself in half.

As the armor was pierced, A tremendous amount of energy exploded from it as it blasted the Final summoning away from it. 

I carefully kept my eyes open to watch every step of the process.

On the ground, Auron was Knocked unconscious.

As I took a closer look, I saw what I was hoping for. 

That blast had not hurt the Final Summon.

No.

It forced Braska out. 

This was how Yu Yevon was able to possess the final summon.

This was why the pilgrimage always ended in failure.

Nobody took the time to watch this battle up close and the Final Summoning was known to kill the Summoner, but the HOW was most important to me.

If Yu Yevon had taken control of the summoner and Final Summon while they were together, this would have been more complicated but that wasn't it.

Yu Yevon probably couldn't possess something that was already part of a possession.

The Final Summon is powerful, there was no doubt.

The problem was the final piercing of the armor. 

That energy wave not only blasted everything back but also released magic strong enough to disturb the connection Braska formed with Jecht.

"Aunt Ellie!! Now is the time! Quick Grab my hand, we need to get to Braska!"

Ellie quickly grabbed my hand.

From the looks of it, Both Auron and Braska looked unconscious and on the ground.

I quickly increased our perception of time and casted Hastega on both of us.

As we nearly reached both Braska and Auron, as eerie pitch black ghostly ball of aura floated out to sin as its bisected half fell into the chasm and few straight into the Final Summon.

The once majestic and bright glowing Aeon started to dim and started to turn almost demonic as it turned towards us.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT" It saw us.

We got to be faster we are almost there!!

The now, new sin started to raise its blade as as we reached them.

I quickly grabbed everyone as the swing was an inch from cleaving us.

"FAST FORWARD!!" I yelled.
