Chapter 971 The Crystal Wand
[Ein's POV: ]
After we finished all our work this morning, we were free to do anything we wanted, so we freshened up first and arrived before the academy gates that had just then opened for the public.
People came in, and a few teachers, along with President Zod and Cradle greeted all of them.
'That was the first batch of people.'
The festival officially started much later, but those were the very first people that arrived there.
And, though not many stalls had opened up, some students had been here since last night like the four of us and were ready to greet the people who had come here so early in the morning.
They all had been waiting outside for quite a while so the students who were there for them greeted them with some good 'free' samples.
And following the samples, they started selling their things with their friends and servants.
Some of the academy staff was also helping them, so they at least weren't on their own.
Besides, these stalls weren't just a source of money for the students, it was also an attraction for the academy.
'This was an academy festival so there were various things that they needed for the test attraction and entertainment.'
If the students were getting a chance to earn an earnest money through this, this definitely wasn't a bad thing for them.
Finding people to set up stalls in this vast garden was difficult in the first place so, even after all the application, since we were short on the stall spots that were predetermined, we had to fill them up with activities that we weren't planning initially.
'This was how Tia's stall as well as that flavour Oxygen counter was set up by the request of the student council.'
Tia was doing great, and the oxygen counter was becoming a good bonding place for the up and coming couples of our group.
'Alf and Bell, Captain Alpha and Luna, even Prince Alph and Ezra were there, enjoying flavorful fresh air, getting high on concentrated pure air that we can usually get anywhere on this island.'
Seeing them and having fun with all of them was an amazing experience, but… if only there weren't those cult bastards.
[{ *Do you know master, a Soul Armament is actually a one of a kind object in this entire nature?* }]
Be it Rein or President or even Cradle, or me, or Celes, or Sansan… thanks to those cult bastards, none of us could have as much fun as we wanted to.
'There were a lot of things to do, and we certainly did all those fun things.'
Starting from welcoming the older graduates coming from all over the world, people who were now a very important part of this world, people who lived simple lives, to people who were in charge of their own states now, there were all kinds of people coming to the academy at the moment.
These people, baring stories of all kinds of journeys, adventures of the most mundane to the most mystical nature had gathered here and some of these people were pretty interesting as well.
'Sadly, even though I wanted to talk with all of them, after all the classes revealed their amazing projects, and there was a little explosion of the news reporters, we had to postpone the talk with all those people for the later.
'They were going to be here for today, thankfully, so we still had time.'
Besides, we had a lot more things to do in the garden so we started with that, waiting for the Battle to begin.
'All four of us thought the battle would go on for a few hours at the very least. But, not even an hour has passed since they started, and they were finishing up already.'
What more… the headmaster was doing something even I had not expected.
'You know everything that I do, Lucy. But, thanks.'
She asked me that silly question on purpose so that I can come out of that state of daze.
[{ *There's nothing to thank me for, master.* }]
And, it was an effective technique.
'Anyway…'
The headmaster took out a piece of his very being, his soul, the most precious weapon of his existence, and summoned it on top of his palm.
As we could all see, nature had paused itself to admire this simple piece of armament…
Winds started flowing in a melodious manner, sunlight started favouring the floating self of the headmaster, and earth beneath his feet on the ground was covered in grass.
Flames were born without a source, and water rose around him… gathering around him like the five other elements that had now submitted to his authority.
'The Soul Armament…'
There were very few in this world, and after the one that he carried inside of him, this was the first time I had ever seen one in its Materialised state.
'It's amazing.'
In someone else's hands, this was his first time seeing this special weapon that originally didn't have a physical body made of matter… it was a special weapon that was part of one's soul.
There weren't many that possessed these weapons, and there was little knowledge of what these weapons were or where they came from.
But, one thing is for certain…
Only the strongest ones with strong souls possess these weapons, and possessing these weapons alone grants one an unfathomable kind of power.
[{ "What do you see?" }]
The wand made of crystal contains powers of elements, energy, as well as nature. It was a complete reflection of the kind of powers that the headmaster possessed…
With his five elemental affinity, his special Authorities, his ability to see things others could not, his access to that plethora of Aether in the environment, and his powers that were quite unique even for a Wizard like himself.
[{ "Nothing, actually." }]
Everything had a true form, and everything had a truth attached to them. Rein's eyes could see those truths and see things that others could not.
It had been true in most of things until now, but not when looking at that special magic wand.
[{ "I think you see the same thing as I do… that form, what we see right now is the actual form of that armament." }]
As far as I knew about them, these special weapons were Relics of the Origins.
There was no deep meaning behind that, or on the other hand, a meaning that one could understand simply.
It was just like what one can understand, a powerful weapon that had powers unlike any other weapon present in the world.
The only kind of weapon that had the power to kill even the divine beings, the spirits that live in a completely different dimension, Creatures that no one should cross paths with, and beings like the one that they were fighting right now.
[{ "But you know what?" }]
My eyes were locked on that gorgeous magic wand, and my heart was beating faster than it ever had in these last few days.
She knew I was excited already, but she shared her vision with me, and what we were seeing after that was something even more amazing than what my– or anyone else's eyes might be seeing.
'The illusions…'
The headmaster had mastered the illusions. The series of spells that wasn't considered that special in the field of magic.
Yet, he did things with that series that others had never even thought about.
He made them into weapons so powerful it grew up into something that wasn't just a simple kind of power anymore.
[{ "His five elements, his Illusion magic, his Aether, his more than three Authorities, and his emotions… the Wand gave a shape to all of them and, added with the partial Divinity that the headmaster possessed, the Soul Armament turned it all into something, simple." }]
The magic wand itself was still the same through her eyes, but the headmaster had turned into his Astral form… a form that was a culmination of all the powers that he possessed.
There were various powers that he had, and all of it was reflected in his soul which was actually as big as the giant being itself.
They were on a completely different side of the island, in the academy castle at the top floor in the headmaster's office.
And still, not just Rein and I, but President and Cradle could also feel the kind of strength that was being radiated from that astral body.
'Cradle and I could especially feel our souls resonating to the power of that crystal wand.'
It was a special kind of experience, something neither of us had experienced in the past.
And, since it was so special, we couldn't help but just stare at the scene before us with open mouths.
[{ *Forged from the fragments of the Truths, scattered throughout the nature, the worlds, the universes, the realities, they await the arrival of those fated to be their masters." }]
-Swing.
-ZAAAAAAAAAAA…!
With a single flick of his crystal wand, he deconstructed the very foundation of the creature that had survived even the combined assault of the powerful people around him.
[{ *They aren't just weapons…* }]
As everyone watched with a stunned look, the remaining fragments of the dangerous being that had no foundation to exist upon, rained down to the ground all over the vast wasteland.
The being that stood against them as a great threat just a moment ago, had now turned into nothing more than a pool of semi-fluid matter, with only a little trace of its demonic energy left in it.
[{ *As you know as well, master…* }]
As I saw this happening, after a long while…
-Wuuuuuuuu~!
I also heard Ronna's voice in my heart.
[{ *These weapons are a proof of acknowledgement… from HER.* }]
We don't see stuff like this everyday and we don't certainly get to experience a battle as 'fucked up' as this often.
So…
"Damn."
Saying we 'had fun' watching this despite knowing the seriousness of this entire situation was the only thing I can do right now.
"That… was quite something, alright?"
"Yeah…"
"No one told me the headmaster was That strong! How?!"
And I know I was not the only one who thought something like that.
