Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

A day had passed since Arlesk made contact with the arcane elder dragon. Right now, he's discussing things with Remuel, and Draxus who recently returned to the castle.

"With this, only Serkyrio will be the one that's on the eastern towns right? I feel like he's really busy in there." Arlesk let out his thinking as Serkyrio seemed to be extremely busy with the occurrences over the eastern towns. Draxus, who actually went towards Serkyrio to hand over his weapon before heading to the castle, told the group something important. "If I remember correctly, Serkyrio said that there is a lot of turmoil regarding mercenaries coming to villages and towns to pillage stuff. He's been dealing with them ever since." Remuel then reminded them about something important. "Regardless, both of you should change into your formal clothes. We're going be meeting with the ambassadors of that knight country since they have sent a letter towards this country." After getting the attention of the two, the three of them went off towards their rooms and changed their clothing into the formal occation. They had their guns holstered quite nicely along with their bullets that are finally restocked through Draxus.

Yesterday, a letter that was sent from the Knight Kingdom of Paladia to the castle of Quisterion Kingdom by a person acting as a messenger. They remained in the castle and joined in the training of the knights. King Oscar had performed a full overhaul of the noble positions and changed the cabinet of ministers and retainers completely. They were lacking personnel to manage things but they were assisted by Draxus when it comes to handling the expenses and the like. Prince Oswald who was shocked by the sudden lightness of workload asked the others regarding Draxus who lifted most of the overload for them. "Just how fast does that guy calculate things? Moreover, he fixed and optimized various costs." Olivia was the one who gave an answer to her confused brother. "Just let him be, it's something like a talent one shouldn't try to imitate." The letter that had arrived through a messenger reached the king safely and the contents had something regarding the formation of an alliance.

Presently, the three are once again in the throne room facing the royal family. The nobles that had attended already recognize and acknowledge the abilities of the three people to the point of even showing them the utmost respect as they have like a position that's similar to a king and abilities far surpassing their hero Ulysses. "I have gathered you all here today, as a messenger from the Knight Kingdom Paladia, has come to us to form an alliance. We are officially one step forward to our final goal which is [World Peace]." The three are actually standing in the front while facing the royal family as they are the ones that could potentially influence the alliance to become very strong. The searching for items of research was temporarily postponed for this occasion. "With this, we shall need messengers to be dispatched towards their country as our response." Arlesk raised his hand with a slight grin hinted on his face. "King Oscar, can you tell me about the royal family of the Knight Kingdom of Paladia?" Remuel who realized Arlesk's idea held the bridge of his nose while holding back his laughter. Draxus still hasn't realized Arlesk's idea so he was thinking whether Arlesk wants to aim for someone there. "Hmm... If our investigation team is right, there should be a prince and a princess that's younger than your group... Why do you ask?" Arlesk stole a glance towards Draxus who became interested of the royal family of a different country. "I would like to nominate Draxus to act as messenger as he seems to have interest over meeting them." Draxus who was suddenly nominated finally knew the intentions of Arlesk. "Wha?!!! Then! I will need Arlesk to join me in this endeavor so we can guarantee success!" Olivia who noticed Draxus being flustered directed a smile while laughing lightly. "Very well, Olivia, accompany Draxus who will be acting as a representative. We'll prepare the carriages and guards to ensure your safety." Remuel who heard the king's words reminded him of something. "King Oscar, there is no need to provide the guards. There is no need to lend people that could possibly become a casualty for this country, allow them to invite their own members for this." King Oscar nodded to Remuel's proposition. "Very well, there could be trouble for the guard arrangement if the coordination isn't laid out well... So you should invite your own group as they will be capable of fighting side by side with you two." Arlesk looked at the king as he had mentioned [Two], which included him. "Eh? Me too?" Rather than the king, Remuel was the one who answered. "Yep, you're joining Draxus since you're great at talking with the nobilities." Arlesk ended up showing dead fish eyes to how the situation ended up. After a few seconds passed, Arlesk tried to drag Remuel along but it was unanimously declined since there would be no one to protect the castle just in case. "How long is the usual travel to their capital?" Arlesk returned to normal and asked questions regarding the travel time. "About ten days, we can shave that down to three with the gate magic. Make it a round trip then it would be six days." Draxus let out a sigh to the part where he has to travel once again right after arriving to the castle. "It would be important to camp out huh? I guess it's fine but as for the team... Yeah, I got a good set of people to drag along with me." The meeting on the throne room was concluded after some time of discussion. The group was set to begin their travel tomorrow early in the morning. Most of the group went to sleep as nighttime struck. The members who will accompany Draxus and Arlesk are: Olivia, Lily, Julie, Hecate, Amber, Keith, Wesley, and Audrey. Ten people who are capable of almost everything. They will be accompanied by two people for the horses as they will only use one large carriage and no guards. If that was found wandering, it is a potential target for bandits. However, with the abilities of the group themselves, they don't need guards even if they're against an army. Hecate and Amber were talking to Arlesk in his room while wearing purple and orange pajamas respectively. Arlesk was staring at the moon from the balcony of his room. "So we're finally heading to my country huh? I kinda wanna visit my hometown for a bit. With gate magic, it would be the first town that we'll reach. My family is not that rich but they're able to provide for themselves quite fine." Arlesk continued to stare at the moon while talking to them. "By the way, have you two finished up your preparations?" Both of them nodded which got Arlesk to smile a little. "That's good if nothing bad would happen, but if something does happen, I'll be sure to keep you both covered." The smiles of both Hecate and Amber brightened a little as Hecate brought out a question. "What about the Princess? Isn't she the priority since she's coming with us?" Arlesk simply laughed a little while telling them to not worry about the princess much. "There's no need to worry about her, she's engaged to Draxus so we'll leave the protection of her to Draxus himself." Arlesk turned and sat on the veranda. "Isn't it about time for you two to go back to your rooms? I have a bad feeling about Draxus and Remuel." The two were slightly confused as to why Arlesk had premonitions about Draxus and Remuel. He provided them an explanation and gave them headpats before telling them to return to their rooms. After the Hecate and Amber left, he turned his gaze towards a tall tower with a small opening. He gave a small gesture by tilting his wrist left and right with his pointy finger up. Inside that tower, was Draxus who was recording them. "Geh! I got caught!" He immediately retreated and ran away from the tower towards his room. Arlesk then turned his gaze on the rooftop of the castle where he did the same gesture. Remuel, who was hiding behind the roof of a building let out a surprised voice. "What the freak? How?!" However, it was unfortunate that Arlesk didn't notice the hidden camera that Draxus had placed hanging from the side of the veranda.

The next day came with all of the mentioned members present. Each one of them had their own weapons readily equipped. However, Arlesk was interested on what Keith was holding in his left hand. "Oi Drax, that's a [Stand Arrow] right?" Draxus laughed and nodded to Arlesk's question. "That guy is literally [Jojo Reference] in human clothing, so I had to make a good item booster for him." Arlesk simply facepalmed when he heard the full explanation of Draxus. After making final preparations, the rest of the group had already entered the carriage. Arlesk and Draxus then gave their regards to Remuel who is there to send them off. ""We'll be off."" Remuel smiled a little to the two who are about to do something fun. "Souvenirs, ya hear me? And be sure to buy some for Serkyrio as well." Both of them entered the carriage while giving a positive reply to Remuel. They now set off as Harold opened a gate.
