Chapter 58: Chapter 20: Achieving authority over time and space
Zero, one of Kanji's dedicated disciple's, approached him with a hint of urgency in his steps. As he neared his master, he quickly spoke up, "Master," he said, his voice steady despite his inner trepidation. "I sensed the presence of multiple gods approaching."
Kanji's eyes slowly opened at the news, his expression remaining calm and composed. He had been expecting this eventuality, but the knowledge of the gods' approach deepened his resolve. "How many?" Kanji inquired, his voice betraying no trace of alarm.
Zero hesitated for a moment before answering, his words carrying a tinge of worry. "A hundred, Master," he responded. "I sensed the presence of hundreds of divine energies nearing our location."
Zero continued, his voice laced with a hint of awe and respect. "Master, there are two additional divine presences among the approachings ones. Their power surpasses those of the other hundred combined."
Kanji responded calmly, his voice betraying no doubt of his capabilities. "Thank you for the information, Zero," he said. "I will handle the situation. Go and inform the others to remain inside the temple."
Temporus stood amongst the vast army of gods, his gaze fixed on the solitary figure advancing towards them. He recognized the aura of Kanji, the legendary being who had defeated so many of their kind.
Temporus spoke firmly, his voice echoing with the weight of his cosmic power. "It is time for you to face the consequences of your actions, Kanji," he proclaimed. "Your defeats of countless gods have not gone unnoticed. The Omni God demands retribution, and we are here to fulfill his will."
Kanji chuckled softly, his amusement evident. "Ah, Temporus, always so serious and by the books," he mused, his voice tinged with a hint of sarcasm. "And Equilibris, the Lord of Space himself. Quite the entourage the Omni God has sent to bring me down."
Equilibris, standing beside temporus, clenched his fist, his expression hardening at the insolence. "Your mockery shall not save you, Kanji," he declared, irritation evident in his voice. "Our mission is to put an end to your reign of chaos and restore balance to the pantheon."
Seeing Kanji grip his weapon, Kurai Kesshō Buki, both Dialga and Palgia tensed, their eyes narrowing in anticipation. They recognized the potential threat Kanji posed with that weapon in his hands.
Temporus and Equilibris observed as Kanji's form transformed, his aura darkening. They could sense the gathering power within him, a formidable force ready to be unleashed upon them.
In a swift and unexpected move, Kanji appeared behind Temporus, his hand clamping down, severing the god's left hand in an instant. The god of time had attempted to rewind time to devise a strategy, but his plan was abruptly interrupted by Kanji's unparalleled speed.
With his left hand cut off, Temporus staggered back, his expression a mix of pain and surprise. Before he could react further, Kanji spoke with a chilling calmness, warning that he would utilize the powers of time better than the god himself. In the next instant, an onslaught of millions of daggers erupted from thin air, their edges gleaming with a deadly gleam. The weapons encircled Temporus, pinning him in place, the blades like a suffocating cage.
Kanji continued, his voice laced with an aura of control and domination. "You see, Time is something that you never really understood," Kanji said, his words echoing with a haunting truth. "You thought you could manipulate it, but you failed to comprehend the true depth of its power."
Equilibris demeanor shifted to that of horror as he witnessed the scene unfolding before him. Kanji had brutally stabbed his hand through Temporus chest, ripping out the core symbolizing the Time Authority with a cold efficiency. Turning his gaze upon Equilibris, Kanji's eyes gleamed with a deadly intensity.
Equilibris unleashed the first skill of his Space Authority, casting "Fall of World." The world around them trembled as immense gravitational forces concentrated, creating a vortex-like effect around him. The very air seemed to distort, and the battlefield was transformed by the power of gravity. Kanji braced himself, anticipating the impact of Equilibris attack.
Equilibris, watching Kanji struggle against the gravitational onslaught, continued speaking, his voice filled with confidence. "Feeling the weight of gravity, Kanji?" he taunted. "You may be powerful, but I control the very fabric of space itself. You cannot escape my authority!"
As Kanji unleashed the 69th skill of Time Authority, "Paradoxical Aged," Equilibris existence began to waver and flicker. The very essence of the god seemed to slip through the fabric of time itself, its form becoming hazy and translucent. Equilibris eyes widened with a mix of surprise and fear, as he felt his existence being rewritten and altered by the paradoxical nature of Kanji's manipulation of time.
Equilibris core was no match for Kanji's power as the mortal being stabbed his hand through the symbol of space authority, extracting the essence that granted Equilibris his divine power. The god of space could only watch in horror as his authority was stolen by his adversary, the very force he had commanded now wielded by someone he had deemed as inferior.
Equilibris disbelief was palpable as he observed Kanji's mastery over the Time Authority. He questioned how a mere mortal could possess such comprehension of a power so intricately linked to the very nature of time, even surpassing the limits that Temporus, the God of Time, had never reached. The sheer magnitude of Kanji's accomplishment left Equilibris with a sense of awe and a growing realization of the immensity of the threat facing them.
Kanji turned his gaze towards Equilibris, his expression hardening. "You see, power is not defined by divinity," he spoke, his voice carrying a sense of quiet confidence. "It's defined by understanding and skill. You have underestimated me because I'm mortal, but my understanding of time surpasses even your own god of time. As for space, it pales in comparison to the complexity of time."
