Chapter 69: Chapter 31: Goddess of Constellation

Gradually, as the tumultuous events unfolded, Yami regained control over herself. It was as if the dark energy that had consumed her moments ago had receded, allowing her true self to reemerge.

Despite the anger and grief that should've consumed her at the sight of Kuro's lifeless body, Yami's focus remained calm. In the depths of her thoughts, she recalled a promise she had made to Jaiha. She had vowed to train his daughter, Hikari, and that commitment held a significance that transcended her immediate emotions.

As Yami stood there, grappling with her thoughts and emotions, Kanji approached her with a deliberate step. The weight of his presence was palpable, his movements carrying an air of authority and purpose.

With determination in her eyes, Yami met Kanji's gaze, her voice steady as she spoke. "What do you want?" Her words lingered in the air, each syllable carrying a mix of caution and defiance.

"You've unlocked the power of 'Dark aura,'" Kanji said, his tone calm yet laced with an implicit warning. "You've essentially transformed your body into a weapon beyond the confines of normal space layers. It's a dangerous path you've treaded upon."

"You've tapped into a power that has divided the essence of 'Dark aura' within yourself," Kanji continued, his gaze fixed on her with a mix of intrigue and caution. "For me, it merely made my body a powerful weapon. But for you, it has unleashed a more profound transformation - one where cruelty and energy coexist, leaving no space for fatigue or exhaustion."

"I can feel it," she admitted, her voice carrying a note of resignation. "There's a different side to me now, one that revels in cruelty and has an endless reservoir of energy. It's a transformation beyond simple physical enhancement."

"But how do I tame this new side of me?" she questioned, her eyes seeking answers and guidance. "This power, this cruelty, it feels like a force within me that can consume me whole if I let it."

Kanji's response was direct and sobering, his words echoing with a finality that left no room for hope. "It cannot be tamed," he stated matter-of-factly. "This power, this aspect of you, is a force that cannot be contained or controlled. If you wish to use it, you will have to embrace the cruelty and ruthlessness that comes with it."

"I may have failed to hunt you down in this battle," she admitted, a resigned smile on her face. "But I won't forget this encounter. One day, I hope to have the honor of dueling you again - whether it's me or my successor who faces you then."

With a calm nonchalance, Kanji turned and began to walk away, his steps slow and steady. "I'll be waiting for that day," he responded, his voice laced with a hint of anticipation. "Until then, don't cause too much trouble."

After three days of relentless pursuit and failed attempts to capture Kanji, Vega, the goddess of constellations and a Beyonder Ranker, materialized in the vast expanse of the Leiwa Wasteland. Her arrival stirred the air around her, signaling the gravity of her presence.

Vega gazed upon the countless dead bodies scattered across the Wasteland, the grim aftermath of countless battles and brave warriors' futile efforts. A sense of solemnity washed over her, and her eyes held a flicker of sadness for the lives lost in pursuit of an elusive target.

Her voice carried a heavy yet gentle tone as she spoke, "So many lives lost, sacrificed in the pursuit of a single target." The sadness in her eyes deepened as she continued, "This wasteland has witnessed the efforts of brave warriors who gave their all, only to fall short."

With a mere gesture, Vega raised her hand, and a shimmering barrier materialized around the entire Wasteland. The air crackled with energy as the barrier took form, encasing the area in a protective bubble that seemed to pulse with a faint, otherworldly light.

Vega, with a wave of her hand, summoned forth thousands of Constellation warriors, their forms appearing like shadows taking shape. Each warrior exuded a power greater than that of angels, their eyes gleaming with determination and supernatural might. They stood side by side, forming a formidable army, ready to fulfill Vega's command.

Her voice rang out, clear and authoritative. "Constellation warriors," she began, her gaze sweeping over the assembled force. "Your mission is simple, yet crucial. Find and bring Kanji to me. Leave no stone unturned, no corner unexplored. Succeed, and your names will be etched in the annals of history as the ones who helped bring an end to this relentless chase."

With a swift and menacing move, Kanji seemingly appeared out of thin air, standing behind Vega. Unleashing his Authority of Death, he swiftly dispatched the Constellation warriors in an instant, their lives snuffed out with minimal effort. As he spoke, his voice held a hint of mockery, he told Vega "Sorry, those constellation warriors were not immortal."

Vega, consumed by a surge of anger, clenched her fist tightly. Her voice trembled with a mix of frustration and fury as she retorted, "You think you can defy us, defy the gods?" Her eyes narrowed, a dangerous flicker of determination burning within them. "Your days of evading justice are numbered."

In her thoughts, Vega relived memories of the first emperor war, recalling the chaos and destruction Kanji had left in his wake. The anger within her flared even further at the recollection of his past deeds, and her determination to bring him to justice grew stronger. "We meet again," she murmured to herself, her voice filled with a mix of resolve and animosity. "And this time, I will make sure you answer for your crimes."

In a swift, brutal strike, Kanji unleashed his "Kurai Kesshō Buki" in its Excalibur form, impaling Vega's chest and traveling through her entire body. He spoke firmly, his voice cold and resolute, "I won't hesitate anymore. If you're here, it means the God army is closing in. Time has run out."

Vega, her body ravaged by the devastating blow, staggered backward, her breath labored and painful. Blood trickled from the corners of her mouth as she struggled to speak. "You... You won't get away with this," she gasped, her words filled with a mix of pain and defiance.
