It’s not that kind of malicious broadcast

Chapter 34

Chapter 34 – It Seems You Don’t Understand

Contrary to recent misconceptions from various quarters, I’m not just capable of playing a rogue.

I had seriously prepared to go pro, and I did consider position changes for emergencies.

However, the character that took me all the way to Challenger, the one I genuinely loved, was the rogue.

While it was partly because I couldn’t compete with the top-tier Master players in direct combat—

My obsessively disruptive playstyle, sneaking in from behind to scatter the enemy, had a very high win rate.

Getting cut off from the main force three times on the way there, and receiving flak for it, would break most players’ mental fortitude.

Like this.

『ChiefRogueKiller has been defeated!』

『GetDevoured is rampaging!』

『GetDevoured (Rogue) → ChiefRogueKiller (Archer)』

『(Global) ChiefRogueKiller (Archer): @$&* !( @$*()』

『(Global) ChiefRogueKiller (Archer): Damn it』

『(Global) ChiefRogueKiller (Archer): Shit』

『(Global) ChiefRogueKiller (Archer): You son of a bitch』

『(Global) Valentine (Warrior): Report her after the game, please』

Slitting the neck of the helpless, evasion-less archer once more, showcasing another splendid juggling performance to the incoming enemies, then blinking underground.

Approaching unseen, performing a juggling act right in front of them, stabbing with the dagger, then blinking underground.

Appearing with a blink, slitting throats, and pretending to retreat only to ambush again on the path. Simply by repeating this groundwork for victory, the game smoothly began to tilt in our favor.

Once the archer with a longbow dies, unless they somehow manage to secure a spot on a tower again, they can’t exert their full strength.

And as long as there’s a rogue continually disrupting the joining routes, it’s impossible for the archer to take position at this point.

How are they supposed to block someone who emerges from the ground ignoring the underground passage?

Even if a Holy Knight or Warrior tries to guard the area, I can approach in stealth, slit throats, and blink away.

The only things that can counter such rogue play are a mage’s detection, a priest’s danger sense, or another rogue to track and counter.

Coincidentally, our opponents had none of those—

『Band has been defeated!』

『Ark (Mage) → Band (Archer)』

=Blue Team has captured Red Team’s stronghold!=

This game has effectively turned into a 6 versus 4 match.

『Ark has been defeated!』

『Valentine (Warrior) → Ark (Mage)』

The opponents desperately tried to create variables by infiltrating our base, but killing a mage once wasn’t going to reverse the game’s outcome.

『(Global) ArceusDie (Holy Knight): Ugh… Kill them!』

『Ark (Mage): Just wait till I find your Tw*tter handle.』

『Ark (Mage): It won’t end with an IP ban.』

『Valentine has been defeated!』

『ArceusDie (Holy Knight) → Valentine (Warrior)』

『(Global) ArceusDie (Holy Knight): Ugh… Die!』

Amidst the chaotic kill log, the opponents, realizing the game was already lost, surrendered.

=Victory!=

1 win.

A win that could have been taken even more smoothly, but these kinds of games are what make KoK fun. A game where the rogue carries in moments of potential defeat.

This is KoK.

To check the feedback, I logged into the KoK forum and, as expected, many were discussing and debating the match.

『Author: ㅇㅇ』

『Title: Wow, that rogue is amazing』

『Why isn’t our team’s rogue like that?』

– Because your team’s rogue is a noob.

『Author: ㅇㅇ』

『Title: How do you stop that rogue?』

『I can’t think of any counter LOL

– Just gotta accept defeat and say GG?』

– Don’t use a 222 comp, which is a cursed strategy.

– No, it’s a solid hard-push comp;

– Not if your strategy collapses after losing the first fight. If they had a mage or priest, it wouldn’t have been so one-sided. Even with a priest, they would’ve likely been picked off too.

– No, just activate danger sense and stick to the holy knight every time the rogue approaches.

『Author: Krrrr』

『Title: Krrrr Can’t Stand It Anymore』

『Going to play a rogue』

– I’m going too

– I’ll go underground with the rogue

『Author: ㅇㅇ』

『Title: Everyone’s Watching GetDevoured’s Broadcaast LOL』

『(Screenshot of “Currently Watching List”)』

– Ah, I can’t help it, no matter the concept, the excitement is too much LOL

– But yeah, it’s true, can’t help it LOL

– ?? Just tuned in, can’t see anything, what are you talking about?

– No, you can only see it occasionally when they bow their head.

– ??? Just watch the female broadcaster.

– No, honestly, this is better…

– Yeah, it gives some kind of sense of accomplishment.

– Please die

『Author: ㅇㅇ』

『Title: Wow, that rogue is insane』

『Why does it feel so good?

Really, why does it feel so good?』

– Get a grip

– Yep, only a 1% pick rate~

– Hmm.

– Quite a few satisfying comments.

But some of these replies…

***

“I can’t believe we won this. This is crazy.”

『Please tag your card when alighting~ Please tag your card when alighting~ Please tag your card when alighting~ Please tag your card when alighting~ Please tag your card when alighting~ Please tag your card when alighting~ Please tag your card when alighting~』

『The ride is comfortable indeed, the ride is comfortable indeed, the ride is comfortable indeed, the ride is comfortable indeed, the ride is comfortable indeed, the ride is comfortable indeed, the ride is comfortable indeed』

『Passive Mage LOL Passive Mage LOL Passive Mage LOL Passive Mage LOL Passive Mage LOL Passive Mage LOL Passive Mage LOL』

The chat was mercilessly mocking Ark for being just a bystander in the game, but it didn’t bother her at all.

“Yes! I did board the bus~ Ah, it was comfortable and nice.”

Thanks to GetDevoured’s high MMR, this single victory brought in a whopping 12 points. With this much reward, it was easy to ignore any criticism calling the game a bus ride.

Moreover,

-ㅇㅇ has donated 10,000 won!-

【Here’s the reward for winning as a duo】

-ㅇㅇ has donated 100,000 won!-

【I thought this was a safe investment】

-ㅇㅇ has donated 10,000 won!-

【Isn’t Blink Dagger a cheat, really】

Completing several duo victory missions, they were raking in the donations nicely.

‘Just two more wins, and a short skit about awarding the “kickback right”? Securing my Master tier and finishing today’s G-tube content!’

The broadcast felt packed with content. Even the guy who kept taunting ‘Ugh… kill them!’ every time she died, could be forgiven for now.

Most importantly, discovering that Lee Yena could play properly and put in her best effort even in a duo was a significant gain.

The only downside was the inability to converse due to that damn microphone.

‘If she keeps streaming, she’ll get a mic eventually, right?’

“For the next game, I’ll carry~ Remember, there’s a fine line between a driver and a passenger, folks!”

Ignoring the bus-related comments in the chat, Ark continued,

“Great job, GetDevoured-nim! Shall we jump into the next game?”

She addressed her duo partner with a bright smile, but there was no response.

“GetDevoured-nim?”

She called again, but still, there was no reply. Checking the game client, she noticed that ‘Ready’ wasn’t even clicked. Finally, opening Discourse on the non-streaming screen, Ark found a message left by Lee Yena.

『CravingWarmAmericano: Ark』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Sorry, but I need to step away for about 10 minutes to manage my broadcast』

『CravingWarmAmericano: You can go ahead and start a game without me』

“Seems like carrying that last game took its toll. Gotta give props for that~”

『Right LOL』

『Yeah, carrying five people must have been exhausting LOLOL』

『I want to hear her recap the last game』

『Does GetDevoured broadcast? What’s her ID?』

“I did mention earlier that she might need some time between games. Probably broadcast setup issues?”

As a veteran broadcaster, Ark understood that Yena, just starting out, might face several issues. Especially on her first day streaming.

Casually searching for her on Tw*tter with the handle ‘CravingWarmAmericano,’ she discovered that she had a whopping 1,230 viewers on her broadcast.

“Shall we drop in for a moment?”

As a broadcaster, she needed to fill the void caused by her duo’s sudden absence, but she was more curious about what Yena’s broadcast looked like.

‘Is she boasting about how well she did?’

Ark found it hard to imagine Yena’s voice and personality saying, ‘Thank you for the thousand won donation!!’, but she wanted to see it.

Maybe sending a donation from an alternate account could be fun, too. With a grin, she entered her broadcast, the first scene she saw was,

“What? A forum?”

One side of her monitor displayed the chat, while the other showed the KoK forum.

《Here, post numbers 1245012, 1245064, and 1245103. These posts have good content.》

『Go hit the upvote button on those posts, you bastards!』

『I feel like I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m losing my mind』

『Who’s the dickhead that keeps downvoting?』

《I’d like to see these kinds of posts in the Best Articles section.》

『Please start the game.』

『Why is she doing this, really?』

『No, you have to comment that the admin just posted the best cut.』

Maybe it was an answer to the desperate pleas in the chat. Yena finally started reading the chat and engaging in some form of interaction.

《Ah. It seems we need to comment as well for the posts to reach the Best Articles section.》

『We’ll upvote if you start the queue, please. We’ll upvote if you start the queue, please. We’ll upvote if you start the queue, please. We’ll upvote if you start the queue, please. We’ll upvote if you start the queue, please.』

『Please, teacher』

《I hope good comments are posted on good articles.》

Her fingers moved rhythmically above the keyboard, periodically refreshing the forum with the F5 key.

-ㅇㅇ has donated 1,000 won!-

【Even Ark is waiting, please understand】

《I’ve already explained it to Ark.》

-ㅇㅇ has donated 1,000 won!-

【I think you don’t understand, folks. You can’t go home until you send those upvotes, dammit】

Shake shake.

The camera began to wobble up and down, perhaps indicating she found the last donation message amusing.

“What is… I mean, what are you even doing right now…?”

Lost for words, Ark noticed the text written at the top of the broadcast screen.
