It’s not that kind of malicious broadcast

Chapter 56

Chapter 56 – Shared Worries Are Halved Worries

‘What comes to mind when you think of rogues? I promise I won’t ban you for being honest.’

I once asked my viewers this during a broadcast.

– Criminal, scum, trash, incompetent… the chat was flooded with all sorts of condemnation, as if they were just waiting for this moment.

Had they been waiting so eagerly for me to promise no bans? The chat scrolled twice as fast as usual, filled with words they had been holding back for who knows how long.

The excited chat went so far as to hold an impromptu rogue condemnation session that wasn’t even related to the rogue’s image.

One viewer even made a donation with the message, ‘Since when did it become standard for a party of elite heroes composed of saintly warriors and sages to include a random criminal?’

The chat replied with a flood of applause, followed by even more inclusive criticism. It would have been quicker to end the broadcast than to ban each one of them.

And that’s what happened.

At this point, it’s clear that it’s not really about hating rogues. What do fantasy hero party rogues have to do with KoK rogues?

So, I began to think.

To eliminate the unfair persecution of rogues, maybe proving the in-game performance of rogues isn’t enough?

There’s a sequence to everything, Perhaps the persuasive power… and the familiarity of the broadcaster ‘CravingWarmAmericano’ leading the Rogue Revival Movement needs to be established first.

“Ah. Ah. Can everyone hear me well?”

-『🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥』

-『🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥』

-『🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥』

-『🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥』

As if agreed upon, the chat was flooded with fire emojis.

… I had only restricted the chat to emojis, and yet they unified on a single emoji. Their coordination was astounding.

Well, I’ll take it as a sign they can hear me well. I took a deep breath, tightening my stomach.

-A clear ocarina sound rang through the room. Briefly.

… An instrument hard to master in just a week.

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【What the 『expletive』 is this sound now】

Still, it should’ve conveyed the feeling.

“Now, everyone. Imagine this. A rogue, leaning lightly against a tree, slightly away from the campfire where everyone is gathered.”

【Unlock chat while I’m being nice】

【Explain the break】

The chat continued to be flooded with fire emojis, showcasing both simmering anger and intense curiosity. This wasn’t going to be an easy broadcast, but nothing worth doing ever is.

“Thank you for your patience, everyone. I’m back now, and I know many of you have questions about the break and the streams ahead. Rest assured, I’m here to address those concerns and to bring you some exciting new content for the Rogue Revival Movement.”

I took another deep breath and continued, determined to win back their trust and captivate their attention.

The chat window, previously dominated by fire emojis, quickly filled with a variety of other emojis—most of them expressing anger.

… Could it be that they don’t appreciate the campfire imagery I’m aiming for?

“This is a necessary measure for focus. Now, close your eyes again and imagine. A rogue, leaning against a tree slightly away from the campfire, playing an ocarina as the weary warrior party members try to wash away the fatigue of the day.”

-Squeak!

Oh. That was a bad note.

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【Are you trying to make money off settlement fees?】

… That’s an unjust accusation. I’ve never thought of milking donations.

To lighten the mood, I gently played the ocarina again.

Hmm. That sounded better.

Surely, this instrument suits the rogue image.

“The rogue, wearing a hood, stops playing and looks startled when they see you. And then they ask:”

『Saint Lady has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【Are we advertising that we’re camping here? Should I destroy that 『expletive』 ocarina?】

Someone getting overly immersed is actually a good sign. I took a sip of water and continued in the gentlest, most friendly tone possible.

“You seem to be having a rough day. What’s wrong? they ask.”

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【A crazy person is running a chaotic broadcast; it’s really exhausting…】

“So, today’s broadcast content is: Your kind companion, the rogue who listens to your worries.”

The idea came from watching a variety of non-KoK streams after a while. I had stumbled upon a Just Chatting broadcaster.

Viewers shared their various worries, and the broadcaster comforted them, playing the piano to match the mood.

The stunningly peaceful chat atmosphere and the flow of unanimous agreement and encouragement to whatever the broadcaster said left me in awe.

Even the coordinated applause emoji spam following the simple command ‘Everyone clap!’… It felt like I was witnessing the epitome of an ideal broadcast.

And with the mindset of a chef eating three meals a day at the same restaurant to discover the secret of a great eatery, I spent a considerable amount of time observing the broadcast—

I concluded that the key aspect was that the viewers found the broadcaster to be relatable and friendly.

Whether being relatable made the worry-listening content possible, or the worry-listening content fostered this relatability, I believed it was more likely the former—

They say you smile not because you’re happy, but because you smile that you become happy.

Wouldn’t doing these worry-listening sessions help make me seem more relatable?

I can’t play the piano, but perhaps it’s better that way. The ocarina feels more fitting for a rogue.

“Feel free to post your worries. Personal worries are fine, worries about rogue builds are fine, worries arising during rogue gameplay, worries about prejudice against rogues, how to respond when the underground is picked first… post anything.”

I navigated to the newly created ‘Anonymous Posts’ tab on the We Together board and displayed it on the screen-

“But of course, if you share a deep concern and viewers in the chat start throwing around indiscriminate criticism… it would be distressing, right? So, you have the option to choose when you upload your worry.”

I clicked a sample post I had prepared in advance and displayed it.

As expected, sharing my own concerns first would make it easier for others to share theirs.

『Post Author: CravingWarmAmericano (👑)』

『Title: Seeking Advice』

『Chat: Emojis Only / Donations: Enabled』

“I’m worried because some top students who received gifts after our rogue streams haven’t streamed even once since then.

To make matters worse, I found out through a search that some of them even played Warrior or Priest afterward. What should I do?

Should I ban them? Is banning enough?”

“See, I posted my concern with chat set to emojis only and donations enabled. Now, do you understand why chat is restricted right now?”

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【Teacher, please just stop and broadcast KoK】

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【What on earth did she watch during her break this time】

“Alright everyone, feel free to post your worries.”

After refreshing the browser displaying the board, about six posts appeared almost simultaneously.

It seemed like enthusiastic participation… or so I thought.

『Title: Seriously Worried』

『Chat: Enabled / Donations: Enabled』

“I’m worried that if you want to avoid dying, you need to turn on your webcam at least. Please, if you don’t want to die, turn on the cam.”

『Title: This is Urgent』

『Chat: Enabled / Donations: Enabled』

“I’m worried that if a certain broadcaster doesn’t immediately play KoK, I might soil my pants. I sincerely hope this gets resolved ^o^”

『Title: Not Joking』

『Chat: Enabled / Donations: Enabled』

“I’m worried because I’m thinking, do you really expect anyone to seek advice from you? If you don’t turn on the cam and show us the two-handed sword Holy Knight, I’ll activate my VPN. I don’t make empty threats; consider yourself warned.”

Ah.

This kind of feeling.

After reading the first three posts, I got the gist.

“Well… worries are worries, so I’ll lift the chat restrictions per the rules.”

『LOLOLOL LOLOLOL 』

『You asked, we denied!』

『The advice you want! Never!』

『No chance, turn on KoK~』

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【Teacher, let’s just play a match as a Holy Knight instead】

We’re still lacking in communication, it seems.

『Really』

『Really, really』

『Let us see some Holy Knight gameplay too, really』

Then, let’s communicate properly.

“But there aren’t any concerns here that I can really advise on. So, how about we play some music while waiting for suitable worries to come in?”

*

-Whistle!

-Screeching whistle!

《Ah. This section is really difficult. Let me try again.》

『Ah』

『Please, just stop』

『Why are you like this』

『I swear, I just want to punch you right in the philtrum once, really hard, teacher』

『Anonymous has donated 1,000 won!』 –

【Sorry. We were wrong. Posted a worry.】

『Guys, isn’t she actually kind of good when she plays well?』

『Someone please quickly post a worry』

『I mean, I gave it my best shot and posted one』

『How does she even come up with this crap, seriously』

-Squeak!

《The ocarina is surprisingly challenging. I’ve only practiced for a week… I’ll keep practicing on-broadcast so I can show you better performances.》

《Let’s collect at least 10 worry posts before we start, okay?》
