Journey of the Last Saiyan

Chapter 57: Chapter 57 - Unyielding General Kneels to None - Part 6

In the following hours, Athena, Queen Hippolyta, and the Amazons collaborated on a strategic deployment plan. This plan was communicated to Hawkgirl and Green Lantern, who took their respective positions after attentively receiving the information through Diana. From their perspective, the entire island appeared seemingly out of nowhere. In reality, Hera had used her power to conceal them both by expanding the island's veil. Once they understood what had happened, they were astounded by Hera's powers, and appreciated the plan's element of surprise against the incoming enemy.

As the war horn resonated across the island, the warrior women were filled with a sense of purpose. Despite the looming threat, the presence of their goddesses and princess instilled a comforting confidence within them.

United, they stood ready to confront the imminent threat. They were prepared to defend their home at any cost, prepared to show the Kryptonians that Themyscira was not a land to be taken lightly.

An hour later, they spotted the ship entering their airspace. It hovered over the sea, scanning the area. Upon Queen Hippolyta's signal, Green Lantern, following the devised plan, materialized a large baseball bat and swung it at the ship. The Kryptonians had no time to react before their ship was hit hard and sent sprawling. Hawkgirl then appeared, attacking the ship with her Nth Metal mace and tearing off a portion of it. The damaged Kryptonian ship crash-landed on Themyscira and disappeared from all sensors, including those on the Kryptonian mother ship.

Three Kryptonians emerged from the wreckage, slightly injured. Among them, one named Nam-Ek stood tall, ready to confront the surrounding warriors. They soon saw a Green Lantern and a winged woman soon join the ranks of the female warriors.

"Kryptonians, you have dared to invade the lands of us Amazons. Surrender or face our judgment," declared Queen Hippolyta, standing at the forefront of her warriors in her armor.

"Primitive and cowardly creatures. Kryptonians never surrender!" retorted Tor-An, one of the three Kryptonians. Despite his injuries, his pride remained intact, defiantly standing his ground.

The other two Kryptonians nodded in agreement with their comrade.

"Pitiful and foolish. AMAZONS, SHOW THEM YOUR MIGHT! CHARGE!" With a wave of her hand, Queen Hippolyta signaled the attack, and all forces jointly advanced on the Kryptonians.

Seeing the incoming attack, the three Kryptonians didn't waste time. Despite their newfound powers from this system's sun, they understood they were still vastly outnumbered.

Nam-Ek charged ahead, clashing with the Amazons led by Antiope and Diana, while Tor-An battled against the Amazons led by Philippus and Artemis. Gor faced off against the Amazons led by Amazon Artemis and Hawkgirl. Meanwhile, Green Lantern provided support to the three prongs of their defense strategy, primarily focusing on keeping the Kryptonians grounded.

In the midst of the chaotic battle, the valiant Amazon warriors found themselves increasingly battered. Despite their weakened state from the crash, the Kryptonians remained formidable opponents. Their strength, enhanced by exposure to the yellow star, resulted in relentless and brutal attacks, leaving painful injuries on the Amazons.

Among the first to succumb was Gor, defeated by the combined efforts of Hawkgirl and Amazon Artemis. Their battle was a grueling test of endurance and strength, marked by moments of desperate struggle and intense combat.

At one point, Gor grabbed Hawkgirl's wings and flung her aside. Despite the rough landing, Hawkgirl quickly recovered, not willing to give up. Meanwhile, Amazon Artemis faced Gor's assault directly. A powerful punch from the Kryptonian buckled her armor, causing blood to spurt from her mouth. Despite tasting her own blood, Artemis refused to retreat. Seeing their predicament, Green Lantern stopped Gor with another construct. He held him in place while continuing to maintain his main construct, keeping all Kryptonians grounded.

Both warriors, backed by the amazon warriors, then launched a counterattack. Their swift and coordinated movements, gradually wore Gor down. Though their victory came at a steep price, with half their squad injured, they felt a sense of satisfaction. They had triumphed over a formidable opponent.

As they regrouped, their eyes turned to the ongoing clash. It was time to join the others and contribute to the collective effort. Their victory over Gor was just the beginning. The battle was far from over.

As Gor fell, amongst the warriors, Tor-An, who had been holding his ground against Philippus and the goddess Artemis, stood frozen. His eyes widened in disbelief and then, in a flash, hardened with fury. Their race could not afford to lose any more Kryptonians. The sight of his fallen comrade ignited a rage within him that knew no bounds. With a deafening roar, he charged forward, his restraint shattered.

His fury was a tangible force, a wild wave of energy that collided brutally with Artemis and Philippus. The impact sent the two warriors soaring through the air before crashing into the nearby trees. Philippus bore the brunt of Tor-An's onslaught. Her body shook from the impact, and she vomited blood, struggling to stay on her feet. Artemis, too, was not spared from the brutality of the attack. With a grimace of pain, she popped her dislocated shoulder back into place before standing up.

Seeing their comrades in a dire situation and the frenzied Tor-An charging towards Hawkgirl and Amazon Artemis, knocking down the remaining Amazons, Queen Hippolyta and Athena sprang into action. They swiftly joined the fray, buying the injured warriors the critical time they needed to retreat.

Despite the chaos, there was a strategy. The combined efforts of Hippolyta, Athena, and Artemis were impressive. Athena used her tactical acumen to charge and strike Tor-An from the side with her shield. This unexpected attack disrupted his momentum and knocked him off course. At the same time, Artemis, with her archery skills, fired an arrow that hit Tor-An's legs. He howled in pain, his advance abruptly stopped as he stumbled and fell. Then, Green Lantern created a clamp that secured the fallen Tor-An.

Seizing the opportunity, Hippolyta made her move. With a fierce cry, she drove her sword through her enemy's heart. They heard the Kryptonian's harsh breathing as he was dying. Hippolyta quickly cut off his head to make sure he was gone. This marked the end of another tough fight.

Seeing his comrades defeated and killed, Nam-Ek was overcome with a surge of rage. He let out a roar that filled the air with a shockwave of raw power, stunning the surrounding heroes and warriors alike momentarily. Seizing this opportunity, he launched himself into the sky, aiming directly for the Green Lantern. His roar disrupted the Lantern's concentration, preventing him from maintaining his large construct and leaving him vulnerable to Nam-Ek's sudden assault. With one powerful punch, he sent the Lantern crashing to the ground.

Witnessing her friend in danger, Diana wasted no time. She charged towards Nam-Ek, her sword gleaming dangerously in the sunlight. She swung with all her might, but Nam-Ek parried her attack by crossing his arms. Before she could respond, he quickly kicked her, sending her sprawling across the battlefield into a lush part of the island.
