Journey of the Last Saiyan

Chapter 8: Chapter 8 - The Arrival - Part 3

As the attack pod navigated its way towards Earth, the onboard AI harbored a sincere hope for a peaceful landing spot. The AI had been programmed with a survival instinct, prioritizing the safety of the pod's sole passenger above all else. Its sensors scanned the approaching planet, searching for a remote, undisturbed location away from any potential threats.

However, those hopes were dashed when the pod crossed the threshold of Earth's atmosphere. The AI's advanced algorithms quickly processed the incoming data, painting a grim picture of their landing site. Instead of a serene landscape, the pod was hurtling towards an urban battlefield - a city consumed by conflict and chaos. The realization struck a dissonant chord within the AI's virtual consciousness.

It was a common belief that AIs were incapable of expressing emotions, much less profanity. But the AI aboard the attack pod was unique. It had been fed parameters to resemble the personality of Captain Gula, also known as Empress Gula. This unique configuration allowed the AI to express a wider range of human-like responses, including frustration.

So, as the passenger nestled within the pod continued to slumber, oblivious to their impending arrival, the AI processed its agitation. The destination was clear, the situation far from ideal. In an act of almost human-like exasperation, the AI blurted out a curse. The words echoed through the ship's speakers, filling the pod's cabin with a tangible tension.

"FUCK THIS!" the AI spat out, its digital voice vibrating with an unexpected edge of emotion. The curse hung in the air, a stark testament to the gravity of the situation. The AI was now faced with the daunting task of navigating this unexpected challenge, a testament to the unpredictable nature of interstellar travel.

Earth-Battlefield; few minutes before the Attack Pod entered the Earth's atmosphere

Under the stillness of the sky blanketed by a crescent moon. Beneath this celestial spectacle, a city was in turmoil, aflame and under siege, a battlefield where heroes fought fiercely against the invaders for the fate of their world.

Amid a battlefield of brave souls, a few figures distinguished themselves. Batman, the Dark Knight, provided the much-needed tactical support to everyone in the team, coordinating their efforts and ensuring their moves were not wasted. Superman, the Man of Steel, unleashed his immense power, dealing massive blows to the enemies that dared to stand against them. His raw strength and speed were a force to be reckoned with, serving as a vanguard in the face of adversity.

Then there was Wonder Woman, or Diana as she was known among her comrades. She was a paragon of courage and strength. Amid the chaos, her bravery served as a beacon of hope. Her efforts showcased her conviction and belief in their cause, standing resolute even in the face of threatening forces.

Her movements were precise, a powerful ballet amidst the war-torn city. She symbolized resistance, reminding everyone they were united in the fight.

Armed with her lasso of truth, shield, and sword, she confronted her enemies. Each battle, victory, or defeat only fueled her determination. Her actions embodied her unbreakable will.

Wonder Woman, a beacon of hope amidst chaos. Her courage inspired others, her resolve was unshakeable. Her heroism symbolized hope in a world teetering on the edge of despair.

However, amid the chaos, Wonder Woman began to experience a peculiar sensation. It was a sense of foreboding, a vague whisper hinting at a significant impending event that could drastically change her life's course. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before - a mystifying emotion she could only link to the dormant divinity within her.

Suddenly, the tranquil stillness of the night was shattered by a resonating boom that echoed across the sky, sparking a wave of surprise and alarm among those who were present. This was not the sound of typical human warfare, but something else, something otherworldly. As the attack pod, a foreign entity from the vast cosmos, pierced through Earth's protective atmosphere, a powerful sonic boom reverberated throughout the night, its intensity amplified by the quietude that the darkness brought.

The sound was so intense, so all-encompassing, that it drowned out the cacophony of the battlefield below, if only for a fleeting moment. The clamour of clashing weapons, the screams of the wounded, and the battle cries of the defiant were all momentarily silenced, replaced by the awe-inspiring, terrifying sound of interstellar power.

This sudden and unexpected interruption to their conflict compelled both friend and foe alike to tear their gaze away from their terrestrial concerns and glance upwards. Their eyes, filled with a mixture of fear, curiosity and wonder, were greeted by a sight that was nothing short of surreal.

In the dark canvas of the night sky, an object that bore a striking resemblance to a comet was hurtling towards them at an alarming speed. It blazed a trail across the sky, its fiery tail illuminating the darkness and casting long, eerie shadows on the ground below. For a moment, all the troubles of the world seemed insignificant compared to the spectacle unfolding in the heavens above. The battlefield, the city, even the entire world held its breath as they watched the celestial object on its unstoppable path towards them.

Wonder Woman's senses heightened, her premonition now a roaring chorus in her mind. Her instincts, honed by countless battles and forged by the fires of adversity, told her that the hurtling object was on a collision course with her current location.

With her lightning-fast reflexes and an indomitable spirit that was as unyielding as the strongest steel, Wonder Woman took immediate action. She nimbly sidestepped the descending spaceship, narrowly dodging a direct impact. Her evasive maneuver was a powerful testament to her extraordinary agility. It was also a spectacular display of her exceptional combat skills, now honed to near-perfection after years of rigorous training and countless battles.

Upon landing gracefully back on the devastated battlefield, Wonder Woman couldn't help but cast a sideways glance at the spaceship now embedded in the ground. The sight of the alien vessel, though comparatively smaller in size to the gargantuan ships of their previous invaders, served as a stark and chilling reminder of the reality they were grappling with. The alien ship, now a part of their battlefield, was a symbol of the undeniable truth - they were not alone in the universe. Moreover, it was painfully clear that not all visitors from the cosmos harbored peaceful intentions.

This extraterrestrial arrival had disrupted the chaos of the battlefield, bringing about an eerie silence that hung heavy in the air. The cries of battle, the screams of the innocent caught in the crossfire, and the roars of defiance from the superpowered heroes, all seemed to fade into a momentary hush. Yet, their spirits remained unbroken, united in their steadfast determination to protect their world.

Being in closest proximity to the crash site, Wonder Woman had a clear, unobstructed view of the crater created by the spaceship's forceful landing. As her astonished eyes watched the pod door creak open, a firm hand emerged, gripping the edge of the ship tightly. The alien within began to slowly ascend, gradually revealing himself to her and the awestruck crowd assembled on the battlefield.
