Chapter 19: CHAPTER NINETEEN
There was silence, not even a single noise. He looked at me and I stared at him.
"Would you like to follow me outside the hotel?" His deep voice breaking the silence, echoing in the corridor. His eyes were narrowed at mine, waiting patiently for my reply.
My body calmed down and I felt much better. I gave him a jittery look, and I completely forgot I was suppose to give him a reply.
"Wait," I squeezed my brows, "you can go outside the hotel?" My brain finally processed the question.
He nodded and he gave me that look that meant 'you didn't know?'
He pulled his brows in askance, "do you?"
He gave a charming expression waiting for my reply. I smiled a little and I nodded my head.
"Follow me!" He commanded and turned, moving towards the elevator.
------
"You've parked your car in front of this huge company for hours now!" I groaned rolling my eyes again.
We have been sitting in his black SUV, with his car parked opposite the huge company, that had a huge logo design 'BABO'. The name actually rang bells in my ear, it was a very familiar name.
He just ignored me and he was staring at our right, swaying his eyes away from mine, portraying it pass the window. His eyes were so focused at the company, he didn't even blink.
From my point of view, he was looking at the company emotional. It was seeming like he used to own it and he was cracking evil plans to collect it back.
I let out a laugh at that thought, it wasn't like it was some kind of movie or something. I laughed again at my thought, which diverted his gaze to me.
I turned to my left and I saw him looking at me with confusion. My smile vanished completely and I cleared my throat to make things less awkward.
"Were you saying something?" He asked, wrinkling his forehead, indicating he hadn't been listening.
I sighed and furrowed my brows. "Can we just go." I mumbled silently amd avoided eye contact.
"O-kay?" He held the car wheel, started the car, zoomed away.
The car was going slowly and comfortably. I didn't even know where he was taking me, his eyes were just fixed to the road.
My eyes went to him, he was really concentrating on the road and he acted like I wasn't present.
I sighed, squeezing my lips together. I removed my gaze from his and I looked outside. The window was obstructing me from seeing a clearer view of outside. I whined the window, pocking my head out. I smiled as the breeze was blowing on my face. It made me forget all my worries and it was making me feel more sleepy.
I smiled and let out a deep sigh. My eyes started closing slowly, dozing off quietly. I removed my head from outside the window, rested it on the car chair and closed my eyes with a smile of relief.
HENRY
I finally parked my car in front of the Devirita hall room, where the party was going to held. I didn't know why I asked her to come when I knew Piper was going to be here. It had been so long I went for my company's event, I was actually kind of nervous. For a year and a half, I kept myself hidden from the world.
It was already so late in the night and we drove for so long. She was sleeping throughout the drive but didn't snore.
I parked the car at different places before getting here, I bought clothes for the two of us, so we could look the part. I was already wearing my cloth, the usual expensive outfit. A black shiny blazer suit and trouser, a white shirt with three undid button. I wore a sliver Rolex wrist watch and my hair was styled to the back beautifullly. I just hoped everything went well.
Piper came constantly to give me weak advices that never affected me. I don't know how she did it, but she made me promise her that I would come for this event. I only agreed since she said the media wasn't going to be here.
The media and I had been enemies since my childhood. The way they flashed the camera at me every single time, or the way they followed every of my footsteps. I always wondered what their purpose was.
The media and I had not been in contact for a year and half. If they were to see me, it was going to be a big issue and they were just going to escalate matters.
My eyes went to the sleeping beauty next to me. Seeing her beauty was not just enough, something in her was making me feel an emotion I couldn't understand.
I kept staring at her and I noticed her head moving. I smiled and she was finally waking up.
She mumbled and she squeezed her face, stretching her body.
Her eyes finally met mine and she looked at me with shock. I eyes wondered everywhere looking confused.
"Where are we?" She asked with confusion written on her face.
"You wanted to have a drink, right?" The smile on my face made her more confused. "Well, welcome." I passed the bag of the cloth I bought for her.
Her brows were furrowed at me, she narrowed those pretty hazel eyes at me. She was not just looking confused but angry.
"Where are we?" She asked, wandering her eyes outside.
"Take this." I tossed the bag towards her, dangling it in the air. "At the back of this huge hall, it's a changing room. Change your clothes and get ready."
"Ready for what?!" Her voice startled me, making me to shiver.
"You said you wanted to have a drink with me?" I gave a sly wink (already cringing) and threw the bag on her laps. "I promise I will tell you the rest, just change and come into the hall." I smiled and patted her head.
She sighed and took the back. She opened the door, left and I saw her heading towards the direction.
I turned the window at the top of the car towards my direction. I inhaled deeply and exhaled briefly, checked myself out and I was styling my hair even though it was perfect.
I sighed and came out of the car. I crossed the road and walked towards the large hall. I forced a smile and I had never felt so tensed before.
The two bodyguards standing at the door, bowed their head. I faked another smile and I was wandering how they knew my face.
I was feeling more tensed but I sighed and opened the door. The hall was extremely big, even though I was expecting it. The diamond and golden decorated chandeliers at the ceiling. The placed was brighten up and designed with beautiful flowers. The slow orchestra music playing, the rich and fancy people dressed in expensive attires. They were speaking to each other quietly, holding a glass of wine, drinking it slowly. The entire hall was just speaking money.
I walked in gradually and slowly, hoping nobody would notice me, if that was even possible. My eyes were wandering around, looking for Piper.
"Henry!" A familiar female voice shouted my name from my left.
I turned and I saw Piper. She was wearing a short shining emerald gown. It had no handle and she supported it with the green stripes high heels. Her brown hair was packed in a bun and she did a heavy makeup that made her look pretty.
She walked closer and she stood opposite me. "I can't believe you came!" The excited was not just seen on her face but heard from her voice.
I smiled and I noticed her holding a glass of wine. I cleared my throat and didn't know what to say.
"Is Rhys here?" I asked silently without realizing when I said those words.
"I told him you were coming, he probably didn't want to come again." She replied with a sad face.
"I guess he's still angry." I whispered and I let out a sigh.
"Don't worry he's your elder brother, he's gonna stop sucking soon." She gave those convincing words that never affected me.
"When..." The door opened interrupting not only me but everyone's attention.
Piper and I gazed our eyes to our left. I was wondering who it was to captivate everyone's attention. I widened my eyes when I saw the most beautiful creature ever, Susy.
