Chapter 2: Chapter 4-5-6
Chapter 4: Security in Focus
The atmosphere was vibrant in the luxurious event hall in Los Angeles. It was a glamorous evening, with Hollywood's elite gathered for a charity gala organized by a renowned foundation.
The venue's security was tight, but Gabriel knew that relying solely on standard measures would be a mistake. He had been personally asked by Kris Jenner to ensure her protection during the event and that of her boyfriend, Corey Gamble.
Gabriel, dressed in an elegant black suit with a discreet headset, made one last sweep of the perimeter. The hall was packed, and the lights reflected off the crystals hanging from the ceiling, creating an almost magical ambiance. But to Gabriel, all of this was just a set-up for potential threats. He was focused on work, as always.
"You look very serious," Kris commented as she approached, with Corey at her side. She looked stunning in a long, sparkling dress, while Corey wore an impeccable suit. "We're at a party, you know?"
"Even at parties, there are risks, Kris," Gabriel replied, keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings. "My job is to make sure you can enjoy yourself without worrying."
Kris laughed, touching Gabriel's arm lightly. "You really don't switch off, do you? I like that."
Corey, who had been watching Gabriel in silence, finally spoke up. "I have to admit, you're impressive. We've had security guards before, but you're something different."
Gabriel smiled politely. "I appreciate it. I just do what's necessary."
After a few interactions with other guests, Corey, curious, started a conversation as they made their way to the reserved table.
"So, Gabriel, tell me something. Before working in private security, what did you do?"
Kris, clearly interested, turned to hear the answer.
Gabriel hesitated for a moment, but decided to be honest. "I was a sergeant in the Brazilian Marine's Amphibious Commandos and then to Brazilian Intelligence," he began, keeping his voice low to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. "The Anphibious Commandos it's an elite troop that specializes in special operations on land, sea, and air. Our training is some of the most rigorous in the world."
Corey's eyes widened. "Really? Like SEALs, but in Brazil?"
Gabriel nodded. "Something like that. Our mission was to act in highly complex situations: rescues, infiltrations, counter-terrorism. Things that don't usually make the headlines."
Kris looked fascinated. "Wow, that explains a lot. I've always wondered how you manage to be so prepared for everything."
Gabriel shrugged modestly. "Discipline and training shape you. And when I left the force, I wanted to apply those skills in a different way. Private security was a natural transition."
Corey laughed. "So, basically, you're a Brazilian James Bond?"
Gabriel smiled, but kept his seriousness. "The difference is that my job was never about glamour or gadgets. It was about survival and protecting lives."
Kris tilted his head, studying Gabriel with renewed interest. "And why did you leave, if you were so good at it?"
He paused, choosing his words carefully. "Let's just say the system in Brazil started to disappoint me. I realized that in order to continue serving, I would have to compromise my principles. So I decided it was time for a change of scenery."
The candid response seemed to touch Kris. "Well, whatever the reason, we're glad you're here. I haven't felt this safe in years."
As dinner began, Gabriel stood a short distance away, ever alert. He noticed a man in the back of the room who seemed out of place someone who wasn't interacting with anyone and was observing the room too closely. Gabriel whispered into the headset microphone:
"Team, keep an eye on the man near the emergency exit. Light gray suit, short beard. Strange movement."
One of the undercover security guards responded, "Roger that, Gabriel. We're monitoring."
Meanwhile, back at the table, Kris and Corey were busy greeting acquaintances and taking pictures. Every now and then, Kris glanced at Gabriel, who stood motionless, a solid presence amidst the glamorous chaos.
"Have you always been like this?" Kris asked suddenly, beckoning him closer. "Always so… focused?"
Gabriel leaned in slightly, keeping his tone low-key. "When you're dealing with lives on the line, every second counts. That's something you never lose, even off the battlefield."
Corey watched him for a moment. "It must be hard to relax with that kind of mindset."
Gabriel smirked. "Sometimes it is, but it's also comforting to know that I can prevent trouble before it happens."
Later, during the charity auction, the man Gabriel had identified as a suspect began to move toward the stage. Gabriel, ever watchful, discreetly signaled for security to intercept him. Within seconds, two security guards approached the man, who began to resist.
Gabriel quickly approached, arriving at the location before the situation escalated. "Is there a problem here?" he asked, his presence immediately disarming the suspect.
The man tried to justify himself, but Gabriel quickly realized he was carrying something under his jacket. "Team, search him," he ordered.
They found a small hidden camera and a microphone. The man was a paparazzo trying to record private conversations during the event. Gabriel instructed security to escort him out.
When he returned to the table, Kris greeted him with a satisfied smile. "I knew something was up. What happened?"
"Just a paparazzo trying to infiltrate," Gabriel said calmly. "Nothing to worry about now."
Corey nodded, impressed. "You're a real human shield, man."
As the night drew to a close, Kris approached Gabriel while Corey was distracted by a friend. "You know, Gabriel, can I be honest with you?"
"Sure, Kris," he replied, crossing his arms.
"You impress me. It's rare to find someone so professional and trustworthy. And honestly, with everything we've been through with the press and the stalkers, having you around is such a relief. I want you to know that we really appreciate what you do."
Gabriel stared at her for a moment before responding. "Thank you. That means a lot to me. Protecting you isn't just a job. It's a commitment."
Kris smiled, lightly touching his arm. "Well, you're more than fulfilling that commitment."
When the event finally ended and Gabriel walked Kris and Corey to their car, he felt a rare moment of satisfaction. Despite the challenges and pressures, he knew he was in the right place, making a difference for those who trusted him.
And for the first time in years, he began to think that maybe this new chapter in his life was exactly what he needed.
Chapter 5: Protecting the Barker Family
Gabriel adjusted his jacket as he watched the sun rise in Calabasas, preparing for a new day of work. This time, his responsibility was to escort Kourtney Kardashian, her husband, Travis Barker, and their children on a family outing. The family had planned a quiet afternoon at an exclusive park, but Gabriel knew that quiet was relative when it came to celebrities.
Upon arriving at the family estate, Gabriel was greeted by Kourtney at the door. She was dressed casually but elegantly, and exuded the serenity that is characteristic of her personality. Travis appeared close behind, wearing a black T-shirt with skulls and a friendly expression.
"You must be Gabriel," Travis said, extending his hand. "I've heard a lot about you. It seems my mother-in-law is impressed."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Barker," Gabriel replied, shaking his hand firmly.
"Call me Travis," he said with a smile. "I'm not very formal."
Kourtney chimed in. "We're glad you're here, Gabriel. With the kids around, I'd rather have a professional like you handling security."
"It's an honor, Mrs. Barker. I'm here to make sure you guys enjoy your day without any worries."
"Mrs. Barker? Pretty formal, but I like it," Kourtney joked, winking at Travis.
The kids, Penelope, Reign, and Mason, ran down the stairs, excited for the outing. Gabriel watched them closely as they approached. He knew that protecting children was a special responsibility and required constant vigilance.
Travis helped load the day's gear into the SUV while Kourtney gave instructions to her children.
"Penelope, stay close to me. Reign, don't run too far ahead," she said with the calm of a seasoned mother.
In the car, Gabriel took the front seat, next to the driver. He had already studied the route to the park, identifying potential danger areas and planning escape routes. As the vehicle rolled through the streets of Calabasas, Travis struck up a conversation.
"So, Gabriel, I hear you have an interesting background. Ex-military, right?"
Gabriel nodded. "I was a sergeant in the Brazilian Marine's Amphibious Commandos. I worked in special operations for several years."
"Special operations?" Travis raised an eyebrow. "That sounds pretty intense. What exactly did you do?"
"Our work involved infiltrations, rescues, high-risk missions on land, sea, and air. It was challenging but rewarding work," Gabriel explained, keeping his tone professional.
"Wow," Kourtney said, glancing at him in the rearview mirror. "I didn't know we had a hero with us. I bet nothing catches him off guard."
Gabriel just smiled. "I do my best to always be one step ahead."
At the park, Gabriel took up his strategic position as the family spread out across the playground. Mason and Reign ran toward the soccer field, while Penelope followed Kourtney to a picnic.
Travis, with his easygoing energy, brought out a skateboard and began showing the kids tricks. Gabriel stood, watching. His trained gaze scanned every movement around the family, alert for any suspicious behavior.
There were other visitors to the park, but he could quickly identify who seemed like a regular and who might pose a threat. At one point, Kourtney approached with a picnic basket in her hands.
"You never relax, do you?"
"My priority is your safety," Gabriel replied.
She smiled, tilting her head. "It must be exhausting, being on high alert all the time. Do you even enjoy what you do?"
"I like the purpose," he said sincerely. "Knowing that I'm protecting people gives me a sense of accomplishment."
"Good to know," Kourtney said, handing Gabriel a sandwich from the basket. "Get something to eat. We don't want you to pass out in the middle of the service."
Gabriel hesitated, but accepted. "Thank you, Mrs. Barker."
"Please call me Kourtney," she insisted, smiling.
As the day wore on, a group of young people with cameras and cell phones began to approach the area where Travis was practicing with his kids. Gabriel noticed them immediately and began to move toward the group. He politely raised his hand to stop them.
"Excuse me, guys, this is a private area. I'm going to ask that you respect the family's space," Gabriel said, his voice firm but polite.
The young people tried to argue. "It's just a picture, man. We're fans!"
Gabriel remained calm. "I understand, but this isn't the time. Please step aside."
Travis, who had noticed the interaction, came over to Gabriel. "It's okay, Gabriel, I'll handle this." He addressed the young people, keeping his tone friendly. "Hey guys, I appreciate your kindness, but today is a family day. I hope you understand."
With Travis's intervention, the group agreed to leave, although reluctant. When Travis returned, he patted Gabriel on the shoulder. "You were ready to get some action, huh? I like that."
"It's the job," Gabriel replied, with a slight smile.
Later, as the family relaxed at the picnic, Reign approached Gabriel curiously. "Are you, like, a superhero?"
Gabriel laughed. "No, just a bodyguard."
"But you look like a superhero," the boy insisted. "Can you fight?"
"I know a few things," Gabriel said jokingly. "Maybe someday I'll show you."
Kourtney, overhearing the conversation, intervened. "Reign, don't bother Gabriel. He's working."
"He doesn't seem to be bothered," the boy replied, smiling.
"It's okay," Gabriel said. "I like curious kids. It's part of learning about the world."
As the sun began to set, the family decided to call it a day. Gabriel walked everyone to their car, helping to load their gear and making sure everyone was safe. On the way back, Kourtney thanked him.
"It was a wonderful day. Thanks for making sure everything went smoothly, Gabriel."
"That's what I'm here for," he replied humbly.
Travis turned to him. "I gotta tell you, man, you're not just good at what you do. You make us feel really safe. That's rare."
Gabriel just nodded, satisfied that he had accomplished his mission once again. He knew that the job wasn't just about strength or strategy, but also about earning the trust of the people he protected. And today, he felt like he was one step closer to that.
Chapter 6: A Protector's Workout
It was a sunny morning in Los Angeles, and Silva was finally enjoying a day off. He decided to take advantage of his free time to train at the local gym, keeping himself in tip-top shape.
Even away from work, a workout routine was a pillar in his life, something he had maintained since his days in the marines. For Gabriel, training was not just about aesthetics or physical fitness; it was about discipline and self-care.
Dressed in a fitted black t-shirt and workout pants, Gabriel entered the gym with a clear purpose: total focus. He chose a less busy time to avoid distractions, but even so, the room was already full of people working out.
The sound of weights being lifted and loud music filled the space, but Gabriel didn't mind. His goal was simple: an intense session to release accumulated stress.
As soon as Gabriel started working out, his presence immediately caught people's attention. His imposing posture, well-defined physique, and aura of confidence made him stand out among the crowd. In the corner of the gym, a group of women whispered as they pretended to stretch, but in reality, their eyes were fixed on Gabriel.
"Have you seen that guy? He looks like a Calvin Klein model," one of them said, trying to hide it as she pulled out her cell phone.
"I think he works for the Kardashians. I saw a picture of him the other week," another commented, adjusting her position to take a discreet photo.
Meanwhile, Gabriel remained oblivious to the hubbub around him. He was on the bench press, increasing the weight with each set, focused on pushing himself beyond his own limits. His muscles stood out under his t-shirt as he pushed the weights with precision and strength.
Between exercises, he took the opportunity to hydrate himself and check his posture in the mirror, making sure each movement was executed perfectly. Around him, more curious eyes turned to him, some people taking sneaky photos and sharing them on social media.
When Gabriel moved on to the deadlift, the room seemed even more charged with attention. A young woman approached, pretending to adjust the weights next to him.
"Hi," she said, with a shy smile. "You look professional. Any tips on how to improve my deadlift form?"
Gabriel looked up, polite but professional. "Sure. Foundation is key. Position your feet shoulder-width apart, keep your back straight, and focus on using your glutes and quads to lift, not your back."
She tried to mimic the movement he'd explained, but she was clearly more interested in keeping the conversation going. "Do you train here often?"
"No, just today," Gabriel replied, without elaborating. He was used to casual interactions like this, but he didn't want to distract her.
"Well, thanks for the tips," she said, smiling. "Oh, and you do look like someone I've seen on the internet… are you a security guard?"
Gabriel just smirked. "Something like that."
As he continued his set, social media began to buzz. Photos and videos of Gabriel began circulating on Instagram and Twitter, with captions like:
"The Kardashians' new bodyguard is ABSURDLY handsome. Who is this man?"
"We saw this guy at the gym today. He's so professional and charming."
"He protects the Kardashians and still rocks the gym. My new crush."
The posts began to go viral, attracting comments from curious followers. Some asked who he was, others speculated.
Later, as Gabriel moved on to cardio exercises, he noticed the constant stares and whispers around him. During a break, an older man, clearly impressed by the intensity of Gabriel's workout, approached.
"You're in the military, aren't you?" he asked, as he adjusted his training gloves.
"I am," Gabriel replied, remaining polite. "I work in private security now."
The man nodded. "I can tell. You have the posture of someone who has undergone serious training. Keep it up, young man."
"Thanks," Gabriel said, grateful for the less intrusive interaction.
Leaving the gym, Gabriel gathered up his water bottle and towel, planning to head home and enjoy the rest of the day. However, in the parking lot, a young woman with a camera in her hands approached him.
"Sorry to bother you," she began nervously. "But do you really work for the Kardashians? I saw some posts about you today."
Gabriel frowned slightly. "I don't know where you got that from, but I don't usually comment on work."
She smiled, undeterred. "Well, I just wanted to say that you're all over social media. I think they're going to call you 'the mysterious security guard' now."
Gabriel nodded briefly before getting into his car. He knew that anonymity was nearly impossible when working for such a famous family, but he never expected his simple trip to the gym to attract so much attention.
As he drove home, he thought about how he would deal with this exposure. For Gabriel, his priority was work and making sure that this new fame didn't interfere with his mission.
When he got home, Gabriel checked his social media for the first time that day. As expected, his name and photos were circulating. He shook his head, slightly amused but also cautious.
There were messages from strangers, questions from curious people and even a few interview proposals, which he promptly ignored.
With a sigh, he turned off his phone. "One day off and they're already complicating my life," he muttered to himself, before preparing a simple dinner and getting ready for another day of work.
