Chapter 2: Bob meet's Rob
As I float through the disjointed void, I find myself absorbed by shadows, my mind racing with confusion. The darkness is thick, wrapping around me like an oppressive shroud, muffling sound and even light. I can't shake the feeling of dread. Something unsettling is brewing, something looming just beyond my comprehension.
"Where am I?" The question bursts from my lips, cutting the silence like a knife.
"Your question is not important, mortal," a voice hisses back, cold and echoing. The words scrape along my skin like fingernails on glass.
"Who are you?" I force my voice to remain steady, but my hands are trembling.
"As I said, your question is not important."
Suddenly, a swirl of glowing colors materializes before me, coalescing into a bizarre contraption—a wheel, it looks like. The surface is covered in letters and symbols that flicker and change shapes every few seconds, feeding my confusion like a hungry beast.
"You will roll the wheel," the voice commands, an authority that sends chills down my spine.
Fear claws at my insides, but curiosity drives me onward. I reach for the wheel, feeling the slick texture beneath my fingertips as I take a deep breath. "What happens if I spin it?" I dare to ask.
"You will find out," it replies ominously.
So, I spin the wheel, my fingers trembling as I push it forward. The colors wheel around with dizzying speed, blurring everything. My heart races in tandem with the spinning. The anticipation mounts until suddenly, the wheel slows and comes to a halt. My breath hitches in my throat as the letters resolve themselves into a title: Naruto.
I was confused and confused turned into understanding. Excitement surges through me, overpowering the fear. This is it! I am going to be reincarnated! —I feel hope surge in my chest. I've dreamed of this! If I had known that dying would lead to something as spectacular as this, I would have chased danger far sooner.
"You must roll the wheel again," the voice urges.
"Okay, okay!" I stammer, almost giggling with glee. A part of me still feels the lurking dread, but the idea of becoming part of a world I had long adored makes me ignore it. I roll again, waiting impatiently as the wheel spins, my heart racing with giddy delight. It stops again, but this time the letters rearrange to spell: Monkey.
The blood drains from my face. "What?"
The voice, still as monotonous as before, responds, "You will be reincarnated in the world of Naruto as a monkey. Goodbye."
"Wait! No! Stop!" I shout, panic replacing my joy like ice water in my veins. I reach out, but black tendrils of nothingness wrap around me, squeezing tight. The darkness consumes me, swallowing my desperate pleas as I plummet into an abyss of chaos.
