Chapter 7: Power System + Status
[Master Axel, I have finished calculating the rewards.]
"Well, go on," Axel said, sitting down and stroking the sleeping blob on his lap.
[Here are the rewards you have received for completing the initiation trial.]
Basic Rewards:
1. Your Very Own Labyrinth – You are now the rightful owner of this labyrinth.
2. Labyrinth Master's Sigil – A badge of your status as a Labyrinth Master. It allows you to modify your labyrinth, command monsters, and oversee its functions remotely.
3. Observer's Mirror – A tool to spy on any outsiders within your labyrinth's territory.
4. Emergency Teleportation Rune – A one-time-use stone that instantly returns you to your labyrinth core in moments of life-threatening danger.
Advanced Rewards:
5. Dimensional Storage Ring – A ring with a spatial dimension (10x10 meters), perfect for carrying your essentials.
6. Ethereal Cloak – Grants you invisibility while within your labyrinth, ideal for ambushes or observation.
7. Summon Token – A single-use item that allows you to summon a powerful boss monster to defend your labyrinth.
8. Combat Experience Boost – Enhances your physical abilities, reflexes, and mastery of combat techniques, improving you as a fighter.
9. Portal Ring – A ring that grants you the ability to create, manipulate, and remove portals within your labyrinth for instant travel.
10. ??? – An unidentified object of unknown function.
As the system finished listing the rewards, several items materialized in front of Axel. At the same time, he felt a surge of power flow through his body. His muscles twitched, and his mind was flooded with combat techniques, making him feel like a seasoned warrior.
"Ha, sweet buff. I can understand everything else, but... what the fuck is this supposed to be? Another fucking core?" Axel muttered, eyeing a strange sphere among the rewards. It looked eerily similar to the labyrinth core he'd acquired during the trial. Picking it up, he examined it closely, trying to discern its purpose. But the sphere remained dormant, offering no clues.
[Master Axel, this item seems to be a byproduct of the glitch that interfered with the trial.]
"Figures. Another lovely fucking gift from the glitch," Axel sighed, placing the sphere back with the rewards. "Let's just hope this doesn't come back and bite me in the ass later."
With that, Axel turned his attention to the rest of the rewards. A mirror, two rings, a token, a cloak, a rune-etched stone, and a sigil rested neatly before him.
"Sweet haul. Now what?" Axel asked, slipping on the two rings on his fingers and placing the remaining items into the storage ring.
[This labyrinth is now fully under your control, Master Axel. This chamber shall serve as the labyrinth core room.]
"Wait a minute," Axel interrupted. "Before we dive into the labyrinth stuff, I need answers. What exactly is this world? Where am I?"
[This world is called Aetherium, a vast realm brimming with magic and secrets. As its name suggests, Aetherium thrives on Aether, a primordial energy that connects the physical and metaphysical worlds. The world consists of numerous continents and regions, each with its unique inhabitants and characteristics.]
The system continued its explanation:
Veythar Peaks: The mountainous homeland of dwarves and wyverns.
Silvanis Forest: A vast woodland where elves, dryads, and nature spirits dwell.
The Azure Veil: A mysterious oceanic region home to sea monsters and aquatic races.
Eryndor Plains: The heart of human civilization, where Axel currently resides.
[These are just some of the main regions in Atherium, there are many more places each with their own unique characteristics.]
"Hmm... Alright. What about the power system of this world? Lay it out for me," Axel asked, leaning back against the chamber wall.
[Power within Aetherium is categorized into ranks, used universally by adventurers, Labyrinth Masters, and monsters alike. The ranks are:]
F-Rank: 1–50
Barely above normal human capabilities. Most peasants, untrained adventurers, and non-combatants fall into this category.
E-Rank: 51-100
Slightly superhuman. Individuals in this rank can start to utilize their Aether affinity and perform basic extraordinary feats.
D-Rank: 101-200
Skilled adventurers or warriors. Stronger, faster, and tougher than most humans, capable of consistently defeating F-Rank monsters.
C-Rank: 201-400
Professional adventurers and elites. At this rank, individuals can defeat small groups of monsters or solo weaker labyrinth bosses.
B-Rank: 401-700
Masters in their fields. They can clear mid-tier labyrinths and are known for their prowess in either combat or magic.
A-Rank: 701-1000
Heroes and legends. These individuals can rival labyrinth bosses and reshape small-scale battles.
S-Rank: 1001-2000
Exceptional individuals with near-mythical power. Their presence can turn the tide of wars, and they can clear high-tier labyrinths solo.
SS-Rank: 2001-5000
Demi-gods among mortals. They can decimate armies and take on labyrinths filled with S-Rank monsters.
SSS-Rank: 5001+
World-shaping power. Rivaling Primordial Entities themselves, their strength, speed, and endurance are near limitless.
The system also elaborated on labyrinth ranks, which follow the same grading system. Higher-ranked labyrinths are more dangerous and house stronger monsters, sometimes even multiple bosses. However, rare anomalies can cause labyrinths to shift in rank unexpectedly.
"Interesting... So this world runs on a ranking system. Seems simple enough," Axel mused. "Anything else I should know?"
[There is one more thing Master Axel, you have unlocked the full potential of the system when you cleared the trial. You can know see your complete status information.]
"Show me my status then."
