'Do you believe this to be the best course of action? Secrets are dangerous weapons. Giving them to those who don't know how to wield them could harm rather than protect them.' Thane's beast pondered as he sat within the Room Of Requirement, nestled between the tree's roots with a severe look on his face.
'Perhaps, but this way, I can train them, prepare them for what's to come.' Thane replied just before he felt the room shift and a doorway appeared in the middle of the oasis.
A second later, Daphne walked through the doorway, her eyes wide and her head on a swivel as she looked around. Eventually, her gaze settled on Thane, who stood up to greet her, "When I got your directions, I surely thought you had gone insane...What is this place?"
"A relic of the past and a magical marvel, unlike anything I have read about," Thane replied as he walked over and stopped at the island's shore. Meanwhile, Daphne stopped on the coast of the mainland; a ten-foot moat of crystal blue water separated them.
"Surely you aren't going to make me swim over?" Daphne asked with a raised eyebrow.
Thane smirked before waving his hand and channeling his beast's melody. A staccato note rippled down Thane's body and into the earth, causing it to surge.
A solid stone bridge rose from the depths, six feet wide, displacing water to either side.
Daphne stared at the earthen construct in wonder before she glanced back up at Thane, "H-How did you do that? And what was that sound?"
"I'll answer all your questions as soon as the others get here," Thane promised as he walked across the bridge to stand in front of Daphne before taking her hand.
Daphne stepped into Thane, pressing herself against him as she guided his hand down to the curve of her ass, "Oh really, how long before they get here?"
Thane blinked as he suddenly realized the heat pouring off Daphne and how her legs were pressed to slowly rubbing together.
"I don't think this is the time or the place," Thane advised as his heartbeat sped up, and he adjusted the collar of his shirt.
Daphne pouted with her plum-cherry lips but let out a sigh, "Very well."
Thane went to step back, only for Daphne's hand to shoot out, grabbing the front of his shirt and pulling him down.
Thane felt Daphne's pillowy lips press against his own as her tongue slipped into his mouth, seeking his own out in a passionate kiss.
Thane let out an involuntary grunt as he reciprocated Daphne's affection, swirling his tongue around hers. But only a second later, Daphne suddenly pulled back as she bit Thane's lip, drawing blood.
Thane cursed as he licked the wound and glanced at Daphne, who was staring up at him with a mischievous smile, "Next time we're alone, make sure you don't have anywhere to be for the next hour."
All Thane could do was stare dumbly at Daphne, who stepped away as the doorway repeated behind them, allowing Luna and Rose to enter.
The two had seemingly been conversing, only to stop when they noticed Thane and Daphne. Rose, more specifically, noticed the lack of space between them.
"Thane!" In contrast, Luna shouted joyfully as she ran over, practically bouncing, "You have a friend?"
Thane shook his head, clearing the thoughts Daphne's words had put into his head, "Is that so hard to believe?"
Luna nodded as she came to a stop in front of Daphne and Thane. "I thought you were a recluse, considering how much time you spend in the library and here."
Luna's honesty and well-meaning intent were crushing as Thane practically deflated.
"You must be Luna Lovegood," Daphne asked with a joyful smile, "My name is Daphne Greengrass."
Luna looked up at Daphne, blinking her wide silver eyes, "Greengrass...I think I've heard that name before...Is your family into landscaping?"
Daphne blinked as her mouth opened and closed, trying to reply, but her train of thought had been completely derailed.
"No Luna, the Most Ancient and Noble House of Greengrass isn't into landscaping." Rose corrected as she walked up next to Luna, though her eyes were fixed solely on Daphne with a cautionary gaze.
"Ah, Rose Potter," Daphne greeted Rose, though her words had more of a frost to them. You know I just had a run-in with your bother yesterday."
Rose stiffened momentarily, "Good for you, I guess."
Daphne tilted her head to the side, "Do you not care for your brother?"
"That's none of your business," Rose snapped back, which made Daphne raise an eyebrow in surprise.
"I suppose it isn't."
Thane cleared his throat, pushing past the awkward moment, "Now that you're all here, I should probably explain what I wanted to talk about."
Three sets of eyes fixated on Thane, who felt a strange moment of nervousness before he heaved a steadying breath, "What I'm about to say will probably make nonsense. But I can prove everything if you don't believe me."
Thane then launched into a lengthy explanation, sparing no details. He talked about everything, from his first visit to Gringotts to the night when he learned about his connection to the Fae to the current moment.
Thane even discussed his efforts to set up the awakening ritual and fight with Voldemort. The most difficult part by far, however, was explaining how Luna and Rose were the reincarnated souls of his past life's wives and were destined to be together.
Thane saw a range of expressions pass across Daphne Luna and Rose's faces the entire time, but when his words came to a stop, he could tell what they were feeling or thinking.
The silence was deafening, and the anticipation was killing Thane, "I know this is hard to believe but-"
"You said you could prove it," Rose interrupted, her face an unreadable mask of countless emotions, "Show us that all of this isn't some made-up lie."
Thane paused before nodding, and a second later, he dropped the transformation, reverting his features to their natural Fae appearance.
"Woah," Luna stared at Thane as he reached up and pushed his long green hair out of his face, tucking the loose strands behind his long, pointed ears, "That looked uncomfortable."
Thane let a slight smirk spread across his face, "It's actually a relief; maintaining my metamorphosis for so long can be draining at times."
"You really are telling the truth," Daphne muttered as she reached out and touched Thane's ears and traced the silver tattoos along his forearms, "The Fae are real, and you're the last of your kind?"
Thane took Daphne's hand and nodded, "Yes, now I have to prepare to carry out the duty my people have carried out since magic has existed on the Earth."
For a moment, Daphne was silent before a look of resolve settled on her face and she nodded to herself, "Very well then, I had settled for creating one of the most powerful houses ever seen in Great Wizarding Britain through our union. But I guess being the queen of a magical kingdom would be a nice challenge."
"Creating the most powerful house was your idea of settling?" Rose asked incredulously, "And what do you mean by queen? Thane said Luna and I were the ones with reincarnated souls."
Daphne turned around to address Rose, smiling, "Don't worry; I won't hog him...much."
Rose's cheeks flushed, "W-what...I-I'm not interested in Thane like that! R-r-ight Luna?"
Luna tore her eyes off Thane, "You aren't? Why not? Is Thane not your type?"
Rose blushed even harder, "I-it's not...I-I never said."
"A bit of advice: never hesitate to chase what you want," Daphne interrupted Rose, who glared at her as she turned back around to face Thane, who was at a bit of a loss, "So what comes next."
"W-what?" Thane asked as he blinked. He had gone into all of this expecting to be shouted at and blamed.
Daphne sighed, "Seven years isn't a lot of time; even if half of what you told me comes to fruition, the entire magical world will want a piece of you. In a worst-case scenario, you must be ready to fight every Wizarding Organization in the world. So I'll ask you again, what comes next?"
