Legends: The Emerald World

Ase looked at the entrance hole as the whole cell shook and the dragon's roar boomed. She could hear the guards screaming and running around, this was the prime time to escape, only if she could make the jump. If she was on her own, she'd give up as it seemed impossible, but with the spider and its master nagging on her head, she decided to try one last attempt in her own way.

She started running around the room and quickly reached her top speed, but she didn't climb the walls or try another jump, instead, she kept running and running, awaiting her chance. The spider kept biting her ear, trying to get her to jump but Ase ignored her. She probably didn't even feel those small bites, unless the spider targets a vital organ, her bites aren't going to harm a human.

After half a minute, Ase's luck seemed to have kicked in, the whole cell shook even harder than before, so hard that the walls cracked. This is what she was waiting for, dragons were known for two terrifying attacks. Their infamous breath attack, and their crushing diving plunge. If the dragon had used any of those two, the whole fortress would have been bound to shake violently.

At that moment, Ase ran on the walls, using the cracks to get even higher than before, and then lunged at the entrance hole, leveraging the cell's violent shaking to get a few inches higher, and her claws caught on the hole's edge, she had made the jump.

The spider screeches in celebration, cheering Ase in spider language, dancing on her head.

Before celebrating, Ase pulled herself up with both hands and crawled out of her cell. She then lay beside the hole, panting. She has been trying so hard for a while now, and she needed some rest.

As Ase rested, the emperor's thoughts reached the spider, urging her to get Ase to keep moving. The dragon is already here and it's a matter of a few minutes before it kills the guards and comes looking for more food. The powerful Ase would make a decent meal, and by the dragon sniffs her, it'll be all over.

The spider kept nagging at her to move as per the emperor's orders, one of the methods was blocking her nose with a web. She could rest when they get to safety. The emperor had instructed the spider to lead Ase to the other side of the fortress where they could jump down the wall into the mote and then swim to safety, even a dragon can't track their scent in the water.

After a few seconds, Asa caught her breath and stood up, looking at her side only to find a locked door. The entrance to the hole was inside a locked cell. She approached the door, tried to push it open, and failed, it was tightly locked.

"Spider, we didn't escape, we're still locked in." Ase said with a stupified face. How did she forget the door? They dragged her through it just this morning… She felt like an idiot for forgetting it existed.

The emperor had already seen the door as the spider went through it, and he knew of a way to get it to open. The locks in this prison were extremely large and made of hard iron and steel so strong prisoners couldn't break them. But this exposed a weakness.

The spider danged down from Ase's head and jumped at the door, crawling inside the keyhole. Her butt got stuck, and she tried her hardest to squeeze inside, but couldn't.

'I'm stuck…by stomach is just too big…' She thought, 'Is this the end?' The emperor sighed, she could've fit inside if she crawled sideways…but this spider wasn't following his orders exactly as he wanted her.

Seeing the spider stuck, Ase pushed her inside with her claw. The spider cried and started rubbing her painful butt for a second, but quickly went back to her work. She looked up and saw the six pins that the emperor mentioned.

She waved her hands to Ase so she used her claws to tension the lock, the spider then pushed the pins flush to the inner lock walls and glued them in place with her webbing. After all the pins were set in place, the lock turned and the door opened up.

The spider crawled out of the lock with a proud face, she looked at Ase with a smug smile, 'Did you see that? My masterful understanding of human technology.'

'I'm the one who told you what to do…' The emperor sighed and quickly went to remind her. 'Get Ase to move! Unless you want to become a grilled spider with the dragon's fire breath.'

Now that they were outside the cell, Ase was surprised to find out that none of the guards were standing guard at her door. They must've thought that she couldn't escape solitary confinement. But they were wrong, even she didn't expect she would escape like this.

Ase looked at the spider, "To think I'll escape thanks to a tiny spider. Sorry for earlier." She lifted the spider and put it on her head. "Should we get moving?"

They walked out of the solitary confinement hallway and into the large inner hallways, finding the road blocked, the stone hallway had collapsed so they needed to find another way out.

The emperor had expected such a thing and had the spider scout the place beforehand. He directed them toward the window at the end of the solitary confinement hallway. If Ase could get out of it and jump into the window beside it on the wall, she'd find herself in another solitary confinement cell which could lead them pasted the blocked path.

The two did just that and they didn't even need to unlock the door since the other solitary confinement cell wasn't used. Now that they bypassed the blockage, Ase was finally free to roam the castle.

"Let's go! Tiny spider." She said with a purr, stretching her back before starting to run.
