Legends: The Emerald World

As the guard rushed out, the tiny spider latched onto his face. He felt her on his forehead and swung his arm to swat her away. The spider dodged his arm and stared straight at his left eye, 'Relax, lights out.' She bit him right in the eye and he screamed his lungs out, running out with her still latched onto his hair.

He screamed, swinging his arms, groaning in pain as he smacked on the walls, stumbling through the doors and into the inner yard of the fort.

As the guard used both hands to cover his bitten eye, the other one was left exposed. The spider crawled in and looked at him in it. For some reason, he could tell she was a bit troubled by it but bit him nonetheless. 'Sorry…'

The guard tripped and rolled on the ground, writhing in pain, his screams drawing unwanted attention from an overgrown lizard.

Blinded, the guard crawled on the ground screaming a cursing the tiny spider, finally dying from a fireball flung by the dragon. Luckily, the spider had already jumped off him.

Dragons are unlike most beasts and animals, they can eat raw meat but pretty much prefer it cooked, especially fire dragons, as the scent of raw flesh disgusts them. They live it charred, burned, and crisp.

{Notice: Spider leveled up to level 4. Stats increased.} Even though it was the dragon's kill, the tiny spider got a bit of credit as she had assisted in the kill.

In this world, all people have access to the system equally, and they only differ by their own efforts and achievements.

The emperor was in his cell, hearing all those notifications as he watched Ase scrambling to find the keys after she finished all of the guards. The last one piqued his interest, 'What system?'

When the spider returned, Ase had already found the keys and started opening the emperor's cell. At that time, the emperor was still looking at the panel that only he could see floating before his eyes.

If he has stats, the spider he tamed should have some as well since she's been getting skills. The moment the emperor focused he saw a new page appear, showing him the spider's stats.

Seeing all of the skills and stats popping before his face, the emperor almost became overwhelmed if not for Ase coming in to free him from his shackles. "You're the one who sent the spider?" She looked at him realising how frail he really was.

She had never seen a man in such a condition.

Shriveled, a skeleton with skin on was the best description that Ase could think of. She could see his humerus bone clearly and his spine was clearly visible from the holes in his tunic. His dried lips had cracked several times and he almost fell on his face the moment she freed him if she didn't catch him.

Forget walking, he can't even sit on his own. They can't escape like this. Ase understood the weakness of his flesh, and she looked around for something to help. She was no mage and wasn't comfortable carrying anything in her arms without using her claws. These sharp claws would rip the emperor apart with a single wrong move.

She needed something to carry him safely and still be able to move.

"Leave…I'm… a burden." The emperor amassed what power he could speak, but Ase ignored him and rushed toward the other prisoners. She quickly freed them to take the rope they were tied with. Using that rope, she tied the emperor on her back.

The spider took a comfortable seat on her head, building a sturdy net between her ears, and lay there.

The shonky prisoner looked at Ase, "Leave that sack of bones, he'll only slow us down." That shifty bastard gave the emperor, Shin, a disgusted look. All the prisoners here besides Ase were from the same village, and they were all colonized by the imperial, dragged from their homes, and forced into hard labor, when they resisted, they were thrown here to rot and die.

The old man grunted, spitting on the wall, "It disgusts me that I agree with you, but that's true." He looked at Ase, "You must understand, we're facing a dragon. You're the strongest one here and having you burdened by carrying that kid will only result in us all getting burned to death."

The old man violently scratched his own head, unable to stomach the face he agrees with that vile thief of a son. "We have to live." He looked at Ase with pleading eyes.

The other prisoner agreed. "Why not let one of us carry him?" A prisoner suggested, "So you can fight…in case we need that." Not all prisoners were happy with such a suggestion, and none of them seemed to want to volunteer and carry Shin.

Ase turned her head, looking at them, "MEOW :3" She jumped out of the door and ran away, leaving all the prisoners lagging behind. They cried and started running as fast as they could after her.
