Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain

Chapter 438: Nyx vs Gauri

Away from the realm of mortal's reach, a place far from the agony of Apate, where the sound of her screams as she shouted, when Amy sliced her skin with a scalpel, nice and slow, couldn't reach _ two forces of nature were standing face to face.

Clouds of darkness and white silvery light churned and collided against each other fighting to control the sky which was on verge of collapse. The darkness swallowed the light like a hungry beast, and the light pierced the darkness and shone even brighter.

There was no balance between their powers forming a line, or a foolish pattern of yin-yang _ the contrasting energies were fighting against each other like living beings. The thought of coexisting or accepting other's presence was a taboo for them.

"Get out of my way, Gauri. She's way out of her limits." Nyx spoke, staring at the goddess whose pet beast was blocking her daughter's way to escape.

Gauri placed her hand on the lion's mane and played with it's hair with an amusing smile on her lips. "Limits you say? Cause I didn't see you coming forward when it was your daughter who had the upper hand. When she was the one toying and torturing with my avatar, wasn't she off limits too?"

"She made a mistake." Nyx said with gritted teeth, acquising to her blame. "But don't forget Apate is a goddess. Her dignity cannot be…"

"And Amy is my avatar." Gauri said, interrupting the goddess of night. "You should've taught her about the consequences of going after a primordial. That too, twice."

"..."

"I ignored her impudence last time, but she brought it upon herself today." Gauri said, while ignoring the glaring eyes of Nyx. "Even if my avatar lost or let her go, I wouldn't. It's high time someone teaches her a lesson."

Nyx frowned hearing Gauri's warning and glanced down, her eyes staring at the suppressed chaos within Apate's body which suddenly started rioting, and clenched her fists. She couldn't help but curse her daughter for being foolish.

Why couldn't she be smarter like her other siblings, and wait in patience behind the scenes. She could still use the rules of games as an excuse before, but why was Apate so foolish to jump on the board herself and take part in torture. And if that wasn't enough, she used her divinity, got punished, and got captured too.

Gained nothing, and lost everything.

Ohh what a shame.

Even though there was no sound around them in the void, Nyx still felt like Apate's screams were echoing in her mind. Calling for her.

The sea, land, sky, and air _ everything seemed to turn colder all of a sudden as a shadow of the moon became clear in the clouds where chaos collided against darkness, it swallowed both the magics and started growing bigger in size. It's shadow covering all their figures.

"What do you want?" Nyx spoke, ignoring the lion's grunts as it struggled to stay afloat and steady in the sinking void. "In return for my daughter, what do you want?"

"Giving in so easy. Are you sure you're Nyx?" Gauri spoke, waving the trident in her hand on 'ground'. It made a clinking sound as if metal colliding against something solid, even though there was nothing around them.

The waves of sound set off in every direction, destroying the shadow of the moon.

"There's no point in us fighting each other. Let your lion lift it's barrier so my daughter's incarnation can return to her realm. And then we can discuss…"

"Unh unnn ammm, is that the mortal's effect? Cause I recall you weren't so shameless before?" Gauri joked as she stood in front of her pet partner, blocking him, and the soul attack from the greek goddess. "Your daughter broke the rules first. _ and honestly there's nothing that I need from you."

"So if you want to free your daughter, just tell her to cut off the connection with her incarnation. She's the goddess of deceit, she can get faith power easily. She'll recover ... ."

Gauri's words caused Nyx's eyes to darken in anger. Unwilling to let her daughter suffer, Nyx stopped wasting time and tore off a strand of her hair.

The thin black hair floated above her hands and grew into size until it became a black halberd.

"Don't say I didn't warn you." Nyx said as she threw the halberd straight at the lion.

The mount of hindu goddess Dawon, which is a hybrid of a lion and a tiger stared at the oncoming attack, and despite feeling the threat, instead of backing down, it forced it's claws into void, cracking the space by it's sharp nails and then roared towards the sky.

The ear piercing sound waves carried the pride and power, offsetting even the mighty primordial's weapon to a side. And going further until they reached a few meters from Nyx, where they were blocked by a barrier.

The cloak of shadows swayed ever so slightly behind Nyx, showcasing the effect on it's barrier.

Yet Nyx didn't even flinch, but smiled as she looked at the lion spewing blood from the corners of it's mouth. Only two seconds later, a hole big enough for a fist to pass right through appeared on Dawon's neck.

Gauri frowned as she looked down at her mount grunting in pain without moving from it's place, so she can sit straight. And doesn't feel any discomfort.

"You've grown stronger, Dawon. But there's no need for you to face her." Gauri said as she gently placed her palm on it's injury.

She closed her eyes and pulled out a strand of hair from the mount's body, healing it's wound and all injuries.

"I warned you, let me go. Otherwise even you won't be able to heal it next ..." Nyx was speaking in a threatening tone, but stopped and frowned when she looked up.

The magic of light in the sky disappeared, giving free reign for the darkness to spread endlessly_until with a loud explosion like a big bang, a storm of chaos surged in the middle. The dark red fog was particularly visible in the dark clouds, as whatever it touched eroded, burned, and then turned red.

In a matter of moments the entire cosmos seemed to be covered in chaos. With darkness existing here and there in far corners of it, like it was fleeting or fleeing from something.

"Don't make me angry." Gauri's voice echoed everywhere in the emptiness, not gentle, playful, or loving like before_ but filled with cold murderous rage. "Or it will be bad for you, and worse for your daughter."

Along with the changes in 'heavens', a sharp cry of pain echoed in space, as Nyx looked down, she saw a shadow of her daughter squirming on the floor. Cracks started forming on her body like dry land.

The cheat of chaos even transferring the pain back to the source, to the real body of her daughter far away.

Nyx looked up, staring straight at the pretty pupils of Gauri which had now turned red with wisps of bloody chaos surging over her head like a halo.

"Threatening a mother with her daughter, I thought you were above this, Gauri. Where'd all your kindness go? Or was that all just… hypocrisy?" Nyx mocked as she grabbed her cloak from her left hand, and shirked it lightly.

The cloak sucked all the darkness together and then released it back in a condensed form which almost turned liquid alike. This wave of darkness pushed the chaos back in a corner, forming another equilibrium.

Gauri didn't even care to look up and she just stared at Nyx, her pupils changing colors back to their original shade. "Heh, you disappoint me, Nyx." She spoke in her charming voice, which felt so pure and soothing that one could listen to it for eternity and not get bored.

"Using the same tactics twice." Gauri said, her eyes turning to a side where she could see the figures of Nyx's other children gathering together. "The last time I showed you kindness, and let your sons go… But you took my pity, and came back to punish my avatar. Even for Greeks, that's a new level of ignorant pettiness."

"..." Nyx stayed silent hearing the Hindu goddess's mocking words, as it reminded her of a failure centuries ago.

Nyx waved her hand, sending her children away, lest the past repeats itself.

Knowing that Gauri had no mood to give in, Nyx just took a breath and shook her head.

With a wave of her hand next instant, the connection between Apate and her incarnation got severed.

Eris, the goddess of strife and discord, who was standing on sidelines with her two other siblings, Moros, the God of doom, and Hypnos, the God of sleep. _ frowned at her mother's actions.

Severing an incarnation forcefully for a god, is like sacrificing a part of their powers forever. Not to mention the injuries they suffer due to backlash, or the period of weakness which follows afterwards.

"Amelia Blake…" Eris muttered in her mind as she stared at Amy's image, who was still madly slicing the empty air in her anger.

"I'll remember you." She said and then left the place of battle to look for her little sister, Apate.

What she was thinking, no one knows.

As soon as Nyx severed the connection, Dawon lifted the barrier blocking Amy.

Gauri watched as all of Nyx's children left one after another, and then turned to look at Nyx, who was still standing there, staring straight at Amy, as if noting her madness in her mind.

"She's a lost cause. A loose cannon. Few more trips with chaos, she'll be a junkie." She said and averted her eyes with a sneer.

Gauri didn't let go of the insult of her avatar, and shot back while staring at another corner of space. "You should focus on your avatar first. Mine at least had a good reason to go crazy, yours just is. _ He's gonna be much worse than my little chaos junkie."

Nyx humphed and then disappeared from the space, appearing above the figure of her avatar, who was fully consumed in his anger, crying and screaming in pain while constantly fighting with the spirit of a fallen God.

The body of Mara's chosen lying behind his back with a dagger etched in her heart.

"Where'd he even get the courage? It's not a damn incarnation acting on a set pattern of past personality, but a real true God." Nyx thought as she clicked her tongue watching Rio charging forward instead of backing down or running away.

###

Author note - If u idiots forgot, Mara is the name of goddess who chose Katherine as her chosen.

...

I know the 'fight' between goddess's of their level should be filled with extraordinariness but come on, world system banned private fights remember. Hence the small sprinkler is what you get for now.

Full on god fights only happen when, FIRST, god has no fear of death. Cause he be dying soon after or before even the fight finishes. SECOND, .... Yeah, there's nothing else. First case is sounds so simple but can be associated with too many conditions and consequences so... That's it.

...

Also what do u think, these characters gonna do next? What's next for their story?

1) Amy. - Her anger hadn't calmed down until Nyx snatched her prey away. How will she react and move forward. Also is she really gonna turn into a junkie.

2) Apate. - She's ashamed, angry, annoyed, and weak now. Will her current condition affect the master plan she's been working on for years. Or will someone foil her efforts there too?

3) Eris. - She's off to see her lil sis Apate? Will she vow revenge and hunt Amy? Or will she spank Apate and shrug her shoulders and laugh at her misfortune. Will she be a shoulder to cry on type of sister_ or the sister who sneers and throws salt over shame.

....

Also what do you is up with Rio? Why is this guy going nuts every time he's left alone.

Sigh, what a handful mc.
