Loop Mob – A Mob’s Interdimensional Travel Caught in a Loop

Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Appraisal Skill

Chapter 24: Appraisal Skill

For me, who acquired the Appraisal Skill, there’s a lot to do. I have no idea where to start, but first and foremost, I decided to begin with my own status.

Skill Points Left: 10

Tapping the “+” next to the skills reveals the details of the acquired skills. I can tap each one to see a detailed explanation.

– Gravel Stone Bullet Lv4
– Generates and shoots minerals in exchange for MP.
– Acquisition condition: Earth attribute

– Lv1: Gravel Stone Bullet
– Shoots multiple gravel stones. Number and attack power depend on INT/10. MP10
– Lv2: Scattergun Shotgun
– Shoots multiple gravel stones. Number is INT/2, attack power is INT/10. MP20
– Lv3: Stone Rifle
– Shoots a single gravel stone. Attack power is INT/1. MP30
– Lv4: Stone Blast
– Shoots multiple gravel stones at all enemies. Number is INT/1, attack power is INT/10. MP40

– Spear Technique Lv1
– Martial skill usable when equipped with a spear.
– Acquisition condition: POW 10

– Lv1: Strong Strike
– Converts MP to POW, adds POW/2 to attack power. MP10

Very clear. I now understand why most commoner students cannot acquire Spear Technique. At level 1, commoners receive status points distributed among POW, INT, AGI, and DEX. Therefore, at level 1, it’s impossible to acquire Spear Technique. Swordsmanship is the same. My years of taking swordsmanship classes with no apparent progress now make sense.

And it’s not just skills; it’s equipment too.

– E Short Spear
– Attack Power: 5, Weight: 2
– E Breastplate
– Defense: 5, Weight: 10
– E Leather Hat
– Defense: 1, Weight: 1
– E Leather Boots +1
– Defense: 3, Weight: 1
– E Cape
– Defense: 2, Weight: 2

This weight refers to POW, and if the POW value exceeds it, there’s an AGI penalty. If it surpasses five times, the equipment becomes impossible to wear. At level 1, my POW was 2, so the Breastplate was barely wearable. The professional eye is indeed reliable. Also, through appraisal, I noticed a “+1” on the Leather Boots. Perhaps, in this loop, I opted for a slightly more expensive and sturdy pair among the Leather Boots.

Once you start playing with appraisal, there’s no end. While at home, I deliberately avoided looking at the items. Although the inventory I diligently organized at the end of the year is impressive, the appraisal results are far more detailed. I’m already tempted to redo it. Everything, from the ledger to everything else, is lacking. If I continue like this, I won’t be able to go to school. Above all, it seems like I’ve fallen headfirst into the merchant route, the one I’ve been avoiding the most throughout my numerous loops.

Pressing on my throbbing right hand with the left, I returned to school after winter break. Even at school, there are so many things I want to appraise, and it’s genuinely troublesome. First, let’s start with the people.

“Happy New Year, Alexi-kun. Did you have a pleasant vacation?”
Always smiling, Professor Clement Kabaneru.

Name: Clement Kabaneru
Race: Human
Title: Marol Territory Academy Instructor
Level: 10
HP: 100
MP: 500
POW: 10
INT: 50

– Landscape Lv3
– Gravel Stone Bullet Lv2

– E White Coat
– E Leather Shoes

Skill Points Left: 10

Wow, an insanely specialized rear-guard status. Finally getting martial skills at level 10, this guy really went all-in on INT. Other teachers are mostly around level 5, with similar stats.

The only notable exception was the seemingly arrogant Professor Lucian Laquell.

Name: Lucian Laquell
Race: Human
Title: Marol Territory Academy Head Instructor
Level: 23
HP: 460
MP: 920
POW: 46
INT: 92
AGI: 46
DEX: 46
Attribute: Fire

Skills:
– Fireball Lv4
– Flame Explosion Lv4
Equipment:
– E Three-Piece Suit
– E Leather Shoes

Status Points Left: 0
Skill Points Left: 30

As expected, his status is quite impressive. Originally a military man, he seems to have played a considerable role. Even though he was a military man, there hasn’t been a war in this area recently, so he might have been deployed for large-scale magical beast subjugations in forests or mountainous regions. If I were to form a party in this world, I would definitely want such talented individuals in the rear-guard.

And the thing I was most curious about. As usual, I stepped into Kabaneru-sensei’s research lab. I then picked up the magical book for the Golem Creation Art.

Golem Creation
→ Skill to generate and command a golem in exchange for MP
Acquisition conditions: Earth attribute, Level 50, INT 300

“What?”
I unintentionally let out a surprised cry. Level 50 aside, INT 300? You have to be extremely specialized to acquire that. It’s impossible for an average person unless, like Kabaneru-sensei, they have an inborn extreme specialization. And even with extreme specialization like his, a minimum level of 50 is necessary for acquisition. The last person to master it should have been a century ago.

Nevertheless, I’m relieved that I have Appraisal. Without it, I wouldn’t have known about this. Also, “Status Open” in Japanese. It’s quite a challenging game without memories from my past life; you can’t even see your status.

Am I somewhat cheating with Appraisal and being able to see my status? However, being aware that I’m endlessly looping through the same three years, am I fortunate or unfortunate? Sometimes, I feel like I’m going insane, thinking, “After three years, it’s going to reset anyway,” but there’s nothing I can do about it. Anyway, for now, let’s avoid the scholar route that seems to be pulling me in with all its might and strive for the Golem.

——Wait a moment? It feels like I’ve forgotten something.
