Lord's taboo harem

Chapter 2: The system

The woman who gave birth to him, Sera, named the boy Jorgan, and he became known as Jorgan in this new world. Now at five years old, Jorgan had grown into a curious and capable child, his previous life's memories carefully hidden beneath an innocent exterior. The system had become his constant companion, providing daily tasks that helped him adapt to and understand this magical world.

[Daily Quest Alert: Practice basic mana control exercises before sunset.]

Through diligent completion of these tasks, Jorgan had already achieved the rank of intermediate mage – an unprecedented accomplishment for someone his age. Jorgan never revealed his magic to anyone, not even his mother.

Their home was nestled in a small village by the river, surrounded by towering mountains that seemed to catch every passing cloud. The constant rain created a perpetual melody against their wooden roof, and the misty air was thick with magical energy that even novice mages could sense.

"Jorgan!" Sera called from their cottage door. "Come inside before the evening rain starts!"

He had spent the afternoon practising his water manipulation techniques by the river, taking advantage of the abundant moisture in the air. The system had proven to be an excellent teacher, breaking down complex magical concepts into manageable steps that even a child's mind could grasp.

[Task Update: Basic water manipulation mastery reached. Reward: New skill tree branch unlocked - Advanced Element Control]

Life was simple and quiet, and the villagers shared close bonds. One of the tasks from the system often involved Jorgan connecting with the women in the village—helping them fetch water, carrying small items, or simply chatting with them. Though he didn't understand why, he dutifully completed the tasks, finding himself more at ease with everyone as time went on.

That evening, Jorgan returned home after completing his errands. His mother greeted him at the door, her gentle smile brightening the dimly lit house. Inside, his grandmother was busy preparing dinner.

"Welcome back, Jorgan," his mother said, kneeling to his height and pulling him into a warm hug.

"I'm hungry," Jorgan said, burying his face against her shoulder.

His grandmother chuckled from across the room. "This little one is always hungry! How many more years will you cling to your mother like this?"

"As long as I can," Jorgan replied with a cheeky grin, earning laughter from both women.

Inside their cosy home, his grandmother stirred a pot of hearty stew over the fireplace. The aromatics filled the air, mixing with the scent of freshly baked bread.

Jorgan hugged his grandmother in turn, feeling genuinely grateful for the loving family he had found in this new life. While memories of his past life's betrayal still lingered, they were gradually being overshadowed by new, happier ones.

"Did you go around talking to women again," Sera said as she served him a bowl of stew. "I saw you talking to the wise woman."

Jorgan excitedly talked to his mother about how she taught him how to read and write.

[Daily Task Completed]

The system's focus on building relationships within the village confused Jorgan but he did complete them, thinking that it would reveal its purpose one day.

And there was daily task of having milk, it was weird but he did drink from her.

That night, as his mother tucked him into bed, Jorgan reflected on how different this life was from his previous one. Here, surrounded by genuine love and supported by both family and the mysterious system, he had a chance to grow into someone truly extraordinary.

The constant rain outside provided a soothing lullaby as Jorgan drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the magical achievements yet to come. The system's soft glow in his consciousness was a reminder that this second chance was not just about gaining power, but about living a life worth living.
