Chapter 50: 6

The first day at the Academy went on as usual: noise, new faces, lively conversations and a change of classes. I was sitting on the sidelines, thinking about my tasks.

I was worried about the Cryptologist. How do you digest his principles? I went over the options. Perhaps it was worth trying to learn writing not with hints, but through the decoding method. This could be a good way to digest the principle of "looking for hidden meanings in everything." But what if studying fuinjutsu, with decoding and analysis without using techniques, turns out to be more productive? This could become both a new direction of development and a way of digesting the sequence.

While I was thinking, my gaze landed on Sasuke Uchiha. He was sitting apart, but not far away. I knew that I had to establish friendly relations with him if I wanted to get closer to Itachi and possibly influence the fate of his clan. However, I still had no idea how to build a friendship.

When recess came, I went out to the training ground. It remained almost empty — the children preferred to study new classes or communicate with each other. In the distance, I noticed Sasuke, who was watching the older students practicing their moves on mannequins.

Without betraying my interest, I approached an empty mannequin. The training shurikens caught my attention. Although there were no compulsory classes yet, I decided to try my hand.

The experience gained through the Marauder, the Clown, and practice with paper substitutes has borne fruit. I stood at a distance of ten meters and threw the first shuriken. It pierced right into the point of the mannequin's chest. The second one flew after and hit exactly in the forehead area.

Picking up two more shurikens, I threw them at the same time. One hit the center of the chest, the other hit the forehead again. Looking around, I noticed that the only witness was Sasuke. Pretending not to notice him, I gathered up the shurikens, returned them to their place and left.

Sasuke didn't show that he was following me. He didn't call out to me, but I hoped that this episode would still leave a lasting impression.

The first lessons at the Academy were basic: history, mathematics and other simple subjects. In addition, we were taught chakra theory, teamwork, and strategies. Taijutsu was on the schedule, although so far it was more like physical education.

When classes ended, I lingered at the exit, watching the children return home. Most often they were met by their parents. Mikoto Uchiha came for Sasuke. Her appearance reminded me that I had almost no time left for a chance meeting with Itachi.

Saddened by the fact that I couldn't meet Itachi, I went to the library to study Fuuinjutsu.

Despite my young age, I was allowed to enter, saying that certain areas were not accessible to me. When I said that I was interested in learning Fuuinjutsu. They said that I was not allowed to study the techniques themselves yet, but I was still allowed to take the book Fundamentals of Fuuinjutsu.

I started reading this book. The memory of a cryptologist and a visionary allowed me to quickly delve into what I had read, and judging by the size of the book, I could read it completely in 4 hours. Unfortunately, I will only be able to spend two hours on it today.

It turned out that summoning techniques are not included in the list of Fuuinjutsu, they are in separate groups among the techniques of space-time and summoning. The book itself turned out to be informative.

The first thing that caught my eye was the complexity of the approach itself. There was nothing simple here, like "draw a circle, add a couple of symbols, and the magic will work." Everything from the meanings of the runes to the structure of the drawings turned out to be deeper than I expected.

Each character in fuinjutsu is not just a drawing, but something like a command or a key. For example, the "hold" symbol can be used to create a barrier, suppress a chakra, or stabilize energy. It all depended on how it was written into the seal.

I read an example where the same symbol framed by a circle created a barrier, and in a triangular structure it turned into a trap that redirects the flow of chakra. It made me think about how precise you need to be to use such constructions. The slightest mistake, and the effect can be completely opposite.

The next important part turned out to be the interaction of symbols. They don't work in isolation. Like words in a sentence, they need to be arranged in a certain sequence to get the desired result. There were several symbols mentioned: "hold", "storage", "separation" and "activation"

For example, the combination of the symbols "storage", "separation" and "activation" can create a seal that will release the object in parts. But if you swap "storage" and "activation", the result will be the destruction of the structure.

This explanation reminded me of programming: it's like lines of code where the order and syntax determine whether the system will work or break.

The most difficult aspect to understand was the work of the chakra. The book said that the chakra in the seals does not just fill the symbols with energy, it connects the physical world with the concept embedded in the structure.

The chakra needs to be applied differently for each seal. A stable chakra is ideal for retention, whereas an impulse supply is required for activation. The author advised to train in chakra control, starting with feeding through one finger to feel its intensity and direction.

To use this technique effectively, it is necessary to learn how to precisely regulate the flow of energy, keeping it stable and uniform. Novice practitioners are advised to start by feeding the chakra through one finger, rather than the entire palm, in order to better control its intensity and direction. This allows you to develop a more precise sense and control of the chakra, which is important for the successful execution of seals.

One of the basic techniques is to create a retention seal. This seal consists of three main runes. The first of them is "Hold", and it is responsible for fixing the object. The second rune is "Stabilization", its task is to prevent fluctuations and leakage of the chakra. The third rune is "Holding time", which ensures the duration of the seal. All these symbols are connected by lines, creating a closed circle that serves as a stabilizing frame for the entire structure.

To activate such a seal, the chakra is fed into its central node, from where it is distributed along the lines. When activated correctly, the seal begins to glow with a soft bluish light, which indicates its effectiveness. To test the print, you can place a light object, such as a stone, in its center. If the seal is activated correctly, the object will remain stationary despite external influences such as tremors.

However, when working with fuinjutsu, there are several common mistakes that can lead to failures. One of the most common problems is the sloppy drawing of lines. Even the slightest inaccuracy in their execution can lead to a leak of chakra, which is why the seal will not work properly. It is also important to properly regulate the amount of chakra, because its excess can destroy the seal structure. Equally important is the correct combination of runes and their sequence. If the character order is disrupted, this can lead to unstable print activation or even unpredictable consequences.
