I watched as my clone completed the sealing of the scroll. In the center of the structure was a special circle into which blood was to be dripped. There were symbols around it that radiated along the entire circumference, and there were markings on the side to display the amount of spiritual and physical chakra.

The design looked quite simple, although I didn't know if similar devices existed in Konoha. Most likely, they exist, but I developed my own copy from scratch. Or rather, my clone did it. After finishing the finishing touches, he handed the scroll to me. I made an injection on my finger and dropped a drop of blood into the center, carefully following the process.

The symbols on the scroll moved like living snakes and began to approach the drop. Gradually, the blood disappeared, soaking into the drawing, and the lines became more and more active. After a few moments, numbers appeared on the side indicating the concentration of chakra in the blood:

Comparing my results with the benchmark, I was clearly out of bounds.

To create such an accurate device, I had to refine the initial drawing of the scroll using the chakra of steel as the base. These edits raised questions from my mentor, but in the end they paid off.

After taking measurements, I wanted to check the impact of recent improvements. Over the past month, I have brought the abilities of a Cryptologist and a Magician to one hundred percent and decided to evaluate their effect on the chakra. After completing my training, I immediately began to move on to the next stage — the Faceless One.

It was as if my mind had separated from my body. I felt my skin spreading, muscles and joints melting like wax under fire. The feeling was unpleasant, but not painful. My body gradually recovered, and my consciousness returned to its previous state.

Without pausing to analyze the new possibilities, I repeated the energy measurement. The clone had already dissipated in the process of advancing, so I prepared a new scroll on my own. After dripping a few drops of blood, I watched the response form:

The promotion increased my spiritual energy by almost two times, which significantly reduced the results of physical training. However, the Faceless One, although it does not give physical powers, has certain abilities that can affect my body. The main one is to change the structure of the face and body in a small range. I can't increase my weight, but, for example, it's quite possible to lengthen my height by a head.

Faceless allows you to modify almost all muscles, but without a clear understanding of the anatomy, this ability is limited. However, if I can understand the difference between trained and regular muscles, then maybe I'll make a significant leap in my workouts.

I immediately started the next promotion, and the Cryptologist was replaced by Prometheus. My body began to lose its usual density. The air around him felt sticky, clinging to his skin, pulling it into shapeless streams. Something was changing inside -alien threads were making their way through consciousness, as if they were capturing memories and sensations.

Reality began to melt, as if under fire. The lines of objects broke, shifted and disappeared, leaving behind traces of ash. Glowing spots appeared around me, like stars settling on bodies. They shimmered like drops of molten gold, dipping in and out. I raised my hand, and the spots moved as if resonating with my movement. It seemed like I could pull on those spots of light and rip them out of the surrounding space.

Unlike the Faceless One, who immediately allowed me to change my appearance, Prometheus gave me the ability to "Steal". Within a 50-meter radius, which would increase over time, I could take items, abilities, or even aspects of their physical nature from others. The main force was directed at otherworldly abilities, which, unfortunately, are almost nonexistent in this world. But I could steal both mundane abilities and other people's skills.

The process itself was complicated. For example, if I try to steal Itachi's kunai throwing skill, I'll need a lot of attempts. But stealing movement from Sasuke in his current state would be easier. Abilities and skills are restored at a target over different times: it will take about six hours for an equal opponent, less than two hours for a stronger opponent, and up to two days for a weaker opponent. And I can use the stolen stuff for about ten minutes.

The success rate was influenced by the target's status, my knowledge of the ability, and the opponent's resistance. I couldn't steal knowledge as such, which precluded the possibility of mastering ninjutsu through this technique.

Another enhancement was applied to the "Deception" ability: it became more charming, numbing the opponent's senses and making him more trusting. It was a small but useful detail.

Prometheus' ritual was relatively simple. I need to master the genjutsu that allows me to put a person to sleep and use it to complete the ritual. The situation is more complicated with the Faceless one. I may not be able to find the mermaids, or at least I can ask Kisame to sing.

What really made me think was how to digest Prometheus. If this is the one who stole fire from the gods for the sake of people, maybe I need to steal from some for the sake of others. This sequence was more reminiscent of Robin Hood than Prometheus. But, anyway, the direction was determined.
