LOVE IN PARIS: Married To My Brother-in-law

Chapter 16: Make Tonight Counts

After arguing for a while, Yvette and Blair began reading the script together seriously amidst occasional jokes and banter. There was an air of teasing in the way he interacted with her though it wasn't overwhelming but it caught the attention of everyone on set.

Soon whispers began to circulate, Blair was known for being cold and indifferent even towards his other famous co- stars yet here he was actively engaging with an unknown rookie, it was enough to turn heads.

From across them , Nadia lounged in her plush chair while her manager and assistants tended to her had her eyes narrowed as she watched the exchange between Yvette and Blair.

She was already bitter about her landing a prominent role and also about what happened at the opening ceremony and now seeing her receiving attention from Blair was more than she could handle.

"She thinks she's so special, huh . What so good about her ?". Mary , Nadia manager mouthed under her breath, her words dripping with unconcealed disain.

"Just because she's getting a bit of attention from Blair?. I guess he's just interested in her pretty face and what's under her skirt". One of Nadia's assistants added.

"It won't last. So let her enjoy all the attention she wants". Nadia smirked, caressing her nude polished nails.

"Aren't you really going to teach her a lesson?." Another of her assistants who was massaging her shoulder asked.

"Shh." Nadia stopped the assistant from speaking any further, her eyes gleaming with malice. "I don't need to do anything, there's no need to dirty my hands. Isn't it just a bit of attention, let her enjoy it . I bet someone is getting impatient to take her down".

"Do you mean Miss Jocelyn?".

"Hmm. She's already been humiliated by loosing the role to her and she hasn't even vented her anger. Things won't be easy for Yvette even if we don't make a move. " Nadia replied, a dangerous smile crossing her face. "Let's just sit back and wait for the show to begin".

As the day went on, Yvette and Blair's scene was filmed and to everyone's surprise, they were flawless. The chemistry between the duo was electric, filming the whole scene in a single take .

Even Director Cole couldn't hide his excitement as he exclaimed. "That was superb. The two of you have a natural chemistry, it's exactly what I was hoping for. If things continued like this , we'll be able to wrap up earlier than intended".

Yvette felt a flush of pride at his words though she was careful not to let it go to her head afterall she still had to worry about Nadia .

Blair ,ever the professional simply nodded and returned to his usual composed self but there was a glint of satisfaction and admiration in his eyes.

As the day came to a close, Yvette gathered her belongings ready to head home with . As she stood at the garage waiting for Leila to catch up with her, a black Porsche rolled by stopping just beside her.

The window rolled downward, revealing Blair's handsome face.

"Mind if I give you a ride". He offered casually, sticking his head out of the window .

Yvette smiled politely shaking her head. "Thank you but I have my car waiting besides I'm still waiting for my manager".

"As your lordship pleases". He grinned, his gaze holding hers for a moment longer before saying. "If one day Silverscreen Horizons Entertainment no longer has a place for you, don't hesitate to ring me up". And before she could reply he waved her goodbye and left.

Yvette smiled at his words and watched as the car disappeared into the down the road and finally Leila ran up to her. The two ladies were engrossed in chatting happily unaware of the lone figure watching then from a distance, her expression darkened with jealousy.

When Yvette arrived home she was surprised to find Zeke in the bedroom, folding some of his clothes into a small suitcase. The sight made her pause.

"You're home". She said, her voice filled with both relief and confusion. "But , why are you packing?".

Zeke rose up upon noticing her, offering her an apologetic smile as he pulled her into his embrace. "I have to leave for a business trip, last minute notice. I'll be gone for a few days or at most a week".

Yvette couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment but she immediately masked it with a smile. "Oh, okay".

"Im sorry". He muttered and pulled her back into his embrace. "But I'll be back soon before you even notice, I promise".

Yvette leaned into his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. "Then I guess we should make tonight count since we won't be seeing each other for a week". She said quietly pulling back to meet his eyes. "I'll go make dinner".

"Are you sure?". Zeke asked, stunned to hear her offer and she nodded affirmatively.

"That sounds perfect but then please don't poison us, we're just newlyweds I still intend to enjoy time with my wife cause I don't remember you know how to cook or learning how to either". He teased, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

"You wait and see". She threw him a pillow angrily as she ran down the stairs and into the kitchen, but her smile betrayed her anger.

She put on an apron as she entered the kitchen though she felt nervous about the whole thing, cooking had never been her strong suit but tonight she wanted to impress him.

"What was I even thinking about before blurting out words carelessly". She hit her forehead but soon got to work finding a recipe from her phone online.

After fumbling and dawdling around in the kitchen even refusing Mrs Lawrence help she was finally done.

She stole a glance at the small kitchen clock, it was almost time. Patting her chest encouragingly, she took a deep breath and then plates the dishes into the bowl carefully, wiping the edges of the plates as if it would somehow enhance the taste of the food.

Zeke was already seated at the dining table, casually scrolling through his cellphone as he awaited his wife delicacies.

Yvette walked in with her heart racing as she placed the bowls of dishes before him. "Dinner's ready". She called out, her voice tinged with hope and a touch of anxiety.

Zeke looked up and smiled warmly, doing away with his cellphone. "Smells good". He complimented after taking a sniff and she took her seat opposite him.

Zeke picked his cutlery, swirled it around the dish and brought the first bite to his lips. Yvette leaned forward lightly, her heart hanging on his next words.

"Well ,is it delicious?". She asked.

Zeke hesitated for a fraction of a second then he smiled. "Mm, yes it's delicious Wifey". He chewed slowly giving an exaggerated nod as if to convince her of his praise.

But she knew that he was just buttering her up with all that exaggerated words and nod. Her lips curled into a wry smile as she picked up her cutlery.

"You're lying". She said softly. "But it's okay,I know I'm not the best chef and my dishes are certainty not worthy of being compared to those five-star you're used to so you might have to manage this tonight".

Zeke chuckled, lowering his spoon and taking her hands in his. "Maybe you're not a five-star chef yet but believe me the dish is certainly delicious". He squeezed her hands gently, his thumbs brushing lightly across her knuckles. "Besides, anything that comes from you is naturally delicious".

Yvette felt her cheeks flushed as she decipted the hidden meaning of his words and his gaze on her was just too obvious. She immediately picked up her cutlery and continued eating.

After clearing the dishes, she ventured upstairs and as soon as she entered , she saw Zeke seated at the edge of the bed.

"Come here". He whispered, his voice low and intimate and magnetic that she walked over to him immediately.

He made her sat on his laps as he pressed his lips on hers and she could feel her inside fluttering.

His intermittent kisses slowly made it's way down the other parts of her body. She could already feel her body shaking, she could no longer think straight. Only him could arouse this kind of electrifying feelings in her making her as weak as sand.

In the heat of the moment, all she could notice was his handsome face, nose bridge, his soft lips and passionate eyes, waiting to swallow her whole.

She could feel his strong arms easing her gently on the bed and he continued his onslaught, caressing, kneading and squeezing and she responded eagerly, her fingers tugging at his blonde locks to pull him closer.

"Don't . . . Don't leave . . Don't leave a hickey there. I. . . I still have to film". Yvette moaned as she felt his breath moving to her neck but he was too feverish with desire and did anything he wished, placing hickeys on anywhere he considered suitable and she could only moan in pleasure.

However, when the time came to take things further he didn't rush but instead laid beside her peppering her face with kisses.

He then lifted her up and strode towards the bathroom, placing her gently in the bathtub. He noticed her curious expression and explained.

"I've already told you earlier that I won't force you until you are willing".

Yvette felt extremely grateful at his thoughtfulness as she watched him fill the tub with warm water. But they were already married, what right did she have to make him accommodate her indecisiveness.
