Luisa and the Witcher

Chapter 31: Something sinful

It was somewhat a beautiful morning. The skies of kimoira were almost clear. This happens only few times in a year and Luisa always thought of it as a beautiful morning and with that mentality, that day always went smoothly for her.

She was on her way to the training grounds of the new recruits. The new proteges were asked to report there. She got to the door that had the 'new recruits 8-12years' on it. She never expected she would be back here again.

She entered the large library-like room. The ten male recruits were being lectured by a second ranked witcher. Present also were Gideon, Hal and a witcher who had just finished his protege stage.

"Hey Lulu," Hal teased her and she just glared at him. Her eyes met Gideon's and he nodded at her.

Just then, the recruits were dismissed and that was when Luisa spotted a wood elf boy among them. Her heart skipped a beat. She immediately had a soft spot for him, he could have been her little brother. She walked closer to him.

"Hey..." she whispered and he turned to face her, his small cute face was emotionless.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Zatara," he answered.

"Zatara?" the name echoed in her mind.

"Which wood elf clan are you from?" she asked further.

"Southern region. By the coast," he replied. She knew that wood elf village.

"How did you end up here?" she asked and she didn't miss the frown that appeared on his face. She saw his fists clenched.

"I was the only child of my parents and my people accused me of sorcery which led to the mysterious death of my parents. They called me possessed, evil, without any prove and treated me like an outcast.

"I followed the witcher because he promised me a better life with honor and respect," tears ran down the boy's cheeks. She could feel the hatred in his voice. Cruelty was everywhere. She didn't know when she hugged the boy.

"I can feel your pain, Zatara. I'm not going to treat you the way they treated you. I'm going to be there for you like the sister you never had. My name's Luisa," she assured and she felt his hands wrapped around her after some while as he hugged her back.

It has been so long since someone cared for him, so long since someone hugged him like this. His people rejected him yet here he was being accepted by strangers.

They soon let go of each other.

"I'll be there for you no matter what. This i promise to you. If you have any issues don't hesitate to relate it to me, okay?" she added and he nodded. Then she allowed him to join the others.

She turned around and saw Zeke staring at her. His face was emotionless and handsome as ever as his jet black hair was gelled neatly backwards with some strands falling on his forehead.

Luisa couldn't help but swallow as her heart skipped a beat, the effect he had on her has never changed one bit. He started to walk towards her, his hands in his long black fury coat's pockets as his medallion dangled.

"I didn't see you last night" she mentioned.

'How would you, when you had company and was busy making an uproar,' he thought.

"How would you when you were busy causing a stir at the mages' den yesterday?!" he commented. News really gets around quickly. But how come she felt like he was mad, was it really about the stir.

"Come, the carriage is waiting. Say goodbye to your friends there," he told.

...

"When will you be back?" Carter asked her. Hal and Gideon were also there.

"Anytime I guess," she replied. Now, after seeing that little elf boy, she wanted to be here.

"I don't know why you have to leave everytime to fernandel," Carter added and glanced at Zeke who stared back at him with a poker face.

"Most witchers are here, in kimoira," he turned his attention back to Luisa.

"Hmmf, you know my mentor doesn't like staying in kimoira always and prefers visiting no matter the distance. And as his protege, I have to go every where that he goes," she replied and he nodded before he hugged her, she didn't hug him back.

"Have this," he gave her a little box.

"Carter? You didn't have to," Luisa responded as he placed it in her hand.

"I had to," he replied and placed a kiss on her forehead, throwing everyone including Luisa off as they didn't expect him to do that in public.

"When did they make it official?" Hal asked but got no response from Gideon.

"I mean I knew he had feelings for her, but hothead?" he continued.

"Bye for now," Carter ended.

"Bye..." Luisa responded and got into the carriage, Zeke did as well after having a short glance at the mage.

"Man..." Hal started, wrapping his hand across the mage's shoulders as the carriage left.

"When did you two become a couple?" he asked.

"We are not. I'm courting her," Carter replied. "Oh, because I know my hothead," Hal added and Carter raised a brow at him.

"Treat her well, or you'll answer to me. I made a promise to myself and a friend," Gideon spoke and walked away.

"What's with him?" Hal responded.

Meanwhile, in the carriage. Zeke and Luisa sat opposite each other in silence.

"Are you two in a relationship now?" Zeke broke the silence.

Luisa stared up at him, "No. We're just friends,"

"You two seemed more than just 'friends'," he continued.

"You seem to trust people easily," he added.

"(Scoffs) Because I talk and laugh with people, doesn't mean I trust them. I'm always on my guard because anyone can betray you," she stated.

'Better, glad you kept that in mind,' he thought.

He didn't want to bring up the fact that he knows that they kissed. Two mages came up to him yesterday and told him. She wasn't bringing it up, what if it wasn't true. Why would he even care?

Wasn't this great? She was finally getting over him, then why was he feeling... jealous. He has never been jealous of anyone all his existence because he was always on the top. Why was he feeling jealous now of that stupid mage all because of this little shortie.

Luisa couldn't help but think about yesterday and compare Carter to Zeke, she couldn't help it. Carter was sweet, cute, funny, innocent and lighthearted.

While Zeke was the complete opposite, he was dangerously handsome, funny sometimes though, crazy, narcissistic, nothing close to innocent, sinful, emotionless when he wants to, but overall...he still cares a lot about her and all these was why she was so in love with him.

'He didn't have the right to kiss her,' Zeke thought. That mage didn't even have the right to kiss the ground she walked on. Was he the one who now had the right? A voice said to him and he sighed.

'Luisa was the one giving that Carter all these chances,' he continued in thoughts.

'What am i saying?' he asked himself.

He couldn't even imagine another person kissing this little shortie of his. He was the only one who has the right to kiss her.

To... touch her...

He started to fantasise about her. 'Zeke, get a grip of yourself,' he scolded himself.

Luisa looked over at him, he was in deep thoughts, he looked as if he was having an internal battle with himself.

"What's wrong? What are you thinking about?" she asked.

'My body on yours on the bed as I fill out your fantasies,' he thought.

"Something...sinful," he replied instead and even though he didn't mean for it to sound seductive, it did...with the way he said it and Luisa's ears were already as pink as a ripe peach. She diverted her attention to the box Carter gave to her. She opened it and found a pretty bracelet inside.

"Wow..." she brought it out. Just throw it away, she heard Zeke mutter.

"What?" she responded and she saw as his eyes widened a little.

"What?" he replied.

"Did you say something?" Luisa pretended to have not heard him.

"No...No I didn't," he answered and looked out the window.

Luisa smiled, were her eyes playing tricks with her her or was Zeke actually...jealous. Why? Does it mean he was already falling for her?

...
