Chapter 37: Elves day out
"It's no special bird, just a normal raven but you can make it a pet and start talking to it. Even regular people without the wood elf gift can still learn and practice how to communicate with animals," Max explained further.
"Wow, thank you Mr. Reign. I've never had a pet before," Luisa appreciated.
"Let's take this step first, after you have finished learning everything about elven magic... we'll move to trying to unlock your secret weapon, of course while you are trying to harness your gifts as an elf.
"To me, I believe those gifts will come when the time is right. But you might likely get all three gifts as a wood and high elf or you might get two or maybe... just one," Max shrugged.
Luisa collected the bird from him and placed it on her hand as she stared keenly at it.
"It seems to like you," Max commented.
"Mr. Reign, why a raven of all birds and animals?" Luisa asked.
"Why? Don't you like it?" he questioned.
"No I do. In fact, I know you said it was a normal raven but this bird seems peculiar," Luisa mentioned.
He shrugged, "It is a regular raven. Why a raven? Because I just personally love ravens,"
Lindsey chuckled, "So what are you going to call it Luisa?"
"Hmm, I'll call it...Raven," Luisa replied.
"What? You will call your raven bird 'Raven'," Lindsey tried to suppress her laughter.
Luisa chuckled, "I'm not very good with naming things,"
When Luisa was about to go, Lindsey informed her that she and Senora might show up at her doorsteps today, because Luisa decided to go home very early.
Luisa didn't take it seriously. When she got home, she was so excited to show Zeke the raven.
"So you are seriously going to call it Raven?" Zeke asked and Luisa nodded in affirmation.
Zeke chuckled, his hand went to his cheek as he rested it on his knuckles, "What a lovely name for a raven bird,"
Luisa joined in his amusement as she knew he was being sarcastic.
At the past midday, Luisa was stunned to see Senora and Lindsey at the mansion.
"I thought you were bluffing," Luisa commented.
"Well, I wasn't. We are going to have a fun elves day out," Lindsey was the one who reply.
"Yes, I've got the perfect plan of everything we are going to do," Senora added.
Luisa couldn't help but smile, she never knew she will be able to make new friends again, not just any friends but female friends who were elves.
She decided to take permission from Zeke, he agreed but told her to come back home on time. She made sure to put the raven in its cage which Mr. Reign gave to her along with the bird. She placed it in her room close to the window, so it could receive some fresh air and sunlight.
"I'm going out, Raven," Luisa started as she made sure to put food and water in the cage for the bird.
"I'll be back soon, so see you when I come back, bye," she smiled as the bird tilted its head at her.
She walked out of her room and the trio were out soon and into town, they went to the valley of valor. They just walked around site seeing as they talked randomly.
Luisa hasn't seen this much of the place until now, the few times that she has been here with Zeke, it was either to eat or to buy something.
The place was indeed very beautiful.
Senora led the way to a theater as it was the second thing she wanted them to do, after site seeing. She wanted them to see a play together.
This will be the first time Luisa would be seeing a play since a very long time now and that was when she was still in her elf clan. It was a theater that organizes plays every weekend and Luisa could have only gone with her parents just a few times.
Senora paid for their spots in the theater and the trio took their seats to enjoy the play. The play was a viewers friendly one, it was just about a forbidden love between two people all because their clans don't see eye to eye.
All the actors were good at what they were doing and the play turned out amazing though it had a tragic end as the ML was killed while the FL was forcefully married to a rich old merchant of her clan.
"Wow, now that was intense," Lindsey commented as they exited the theater after the play. They were walking towards their carriage which was Lindsey's, to get some things they will be using for a picnic.
"I know right, the FL is so good at acting," Senora mentioned.
"Yeah, so were the other characters," Luisa chipped in.
"I know, but the FL has always been my favorite human actress," Senore smiled.
They soon got to the carriage and they collected all the things they will be needing. They proceeded to a part of the valley which was a landscape of well trimmed carpet grasses and some willow trees.
They laid their picnic blanket and sat on it, setting up the food and others. They ate as they continued their random conversations, at some point they started playing a puzzle game then a word cross game. It was so fun.
"I so want to get drunk right now," Senora giggled.
"I will join you but I can't get drunk, my father's going to have my neck if I do," Lindsey responded.
"I have no choice but to join but I'm definitely not getting drunk, you shouldn't too Senora," Luisa told.
"I know, I was just saying," Senora smiled.
"I'm sorry, about what my brother tried to do to you," Senora added.
"You just had to bring it up Senora," Lindsey chastised.
"It's just that I haven't gotten the chance to apologize properly," Senora replied.
"It's okay," Luisa responded.
"It's part of why I wanted us to hang out together today, we wanted to cheer you up," Senora continued.
"It's fine, I'm totally fine, nothing happened and it's been days now. How's your brother by the way?" Luisa asked.
"Well, he's fine, his arm is all healed now and he's as arrogant as ever," Senora replied.
The trio all stood up and packed up everything they used for the picnic. They went to the carriage again.
"Where are you ladies headed to again?" the coachman asked, after the girls kept the things they used for the picnic and attempted to leave again.
"We just want to check something out, you have nothing to worry about we'll be back in no time," Lindsey was the one who replied.
The coachman allowed them to go and the girls grinned mischievously at each other as they headed for one of the drinking pubs in the valley, far away from the coachman.
Turns out, there will be something to worry about as the trio got themselves into trouble.
