Luisa and the Witcher

Chapter 41: Dance

Luisa was at the Reigns. It's been two days since Zeke and her left Kimoira for Fernandel after meeting the elf Witcher.

"What's on your mind?" Luisa heard Lindsey say. It brought her back to earth as she was really in deep thoughts.

"Uhm, nothing." She lied.

"C'mon Luisa, we've been friends for quite a while now and I can tell if something is bothering you. Plus, you're mixing up the ingredients for the potions." Lindsey pointed out and that was when she noticed it too.

Luisa let out a soft chuckle as she shook her head. She was totally done with everything that concerns elven magic and potions, she was really good at them now. But her gifts and secret weapons were taking their precious time, makes her wonder if she's ever gonna get it. What if the Witcher mutation tampered with them? But then, what about that day in the woods?

"Well, I was thinking... since there's a book about the gift bearers of the high elves, is there a book for the- Or rather, are there also gift bearers for the other elves?" Luisa asked.

"Of course there are. Also I'm sure there are books for it but we the high elves are not in possession of it, we also don't have knowledge of how it is done. But the other elves whom it belongs to might actually be in possession such books and knowledge." Lindsey explained.

"I see." Luisa responded.

"You know, the gold moon will appear in three days time. Are you really ready?" Lindsey asked.

"Yes, I know all the spells and I have all the things I'd need-"

"I know you're ready but... are you ready? There's a possibility that you won't get your gifts, are you mentally prepared for that disappointment? The summoning of the gift bearers was originally to know if an elf is gifted or not.

Elves with delayed gifts use it to find out if they're gifted at all, which is also another opportunity to get it faster as the bearers bestows it on you rather than getting it the slow and natural way." Lindsey pointed out.

"Lindsey, I've been through a lot in my existence. I'm too strong mentally for a single disappointment to break me down." Luisa assured.

"Well, that's good to know." Lindsey smiled.

"If... If I don't get my gifts, does that mean I won't get my secret weapon too?" Luisa inquired.

"I don't know Luisa. It's also a possibility, but we'll see." Lindsey answered.

"I'm done with elven magic and potions now, I can start practicing to obtain my secret weapon," Luisa declared.

"Yes, you're pretty good now. You're a fast learner, I didn't expect you to catch up so easily and quickly." Lindsey said.

When Luisa got home, she immediately went in search of Zeke. He was in his room, Luisa only opened the door slightly, she didn't even walked in as she was a little bit taken aback by what she was seeing. Zeke too, didn't even notice she was standing at the door staring at him as he slow danced to the melodic music played by his stereo system.

A lilt cigarette was in his hands as he swayed side to side. He moved to where his glass of blood was and picked it up to sip. The wind carried the smell of the blood and Luisa sharp sense of smell didn't miss it.

Was that... Blood?

Why would Zeke drink blood?

But strangely Luisa wasn't stunned by the possibility that what Zeke was drinking could be blood, she was more surprised at that sight of Zeke dancing. She has never seen him dance before.

The sight of it was beautiful.

Angelic but... in a dark way.

He was wearing a black trouser and a white long sleeve t-shirt that was well tucked in. The first three buttons of the shirt was left unbuttoned, his medallion dangled on his neck and his jet black hair was dishevelled.

It was the first time she noticed his hair had grew longer, because he always gelled it backwards with some few strands falling forward to his forehead.

Zeke finally noticed her presence when he was done with his glass of blood.

His tongue ran across his lips.

"Luisa..." He called, then his hands brought his hair backwards, the black cross earrings he wears sometimes came into view.

"You're back early today." He continued. But Luisa's eyes went to the glass he was still holding in his hands.

Traces of what seems to be blood was still on it.
