Chapter 24: Bishop Steps Down. Ring Project (3/5)
Far away at the World Serpent base, Raven thought:
"Huh? Me?"
She couldn't figure out why she was suddenly being accused by that past Hero (Fu Hua) as the culprit. And the method used? Based solely on factions?
Was it because she belonged to the World Serpent? Did that automatically make her suspicious in their eyes?
She refused to accept such absurd reasoning!
Just like the game's ridicule, how many false accusations and wrongful convictions had the opposing side caused!
....
While Fu Hua was getting visibly annoyed, the others simply found it amusing.
The Herscher of Sentience coughed a couple of times, lifted her gaze to observe the others' reactions, and then half-closed her eyes as she remarked,
"Cough, cough. Thinking about it carefully, the old Timer does make sense. Raven is from the World Serpent, after all!"
"And really, if we accused anyone else here, wouldn't things get a bit awkward afterward? There's also one we don't know well yet, might as well pick her. No need to overthink it."
"Old Timer, your IQ has improved!"
The Herscher of Sentience sighed with admiration, her tone filled with the pride of witnessing someone's personal growth.
She even gave Fu Hua an expression of extreme satisfaction, like a teacher proud of a student who had finally succeeded.
....
"Fu Hua, can you do that thing again?"
Elysia, eyes sparkling with anticipation, asked eagerly.
If the crowd had doubted the previous reasoning, given the Red Immortal's reputation, their attitudes shifted with the success of pinning the blame on Raven.
Everyone was left stunned.
"...sorry, I can't."
Although she apologized, Fu Hua refused outright, responding coldly and without any intention of furthering the discussion.
What the hell is this?
Ignoring all clues, coming up with something so absurd… Sure, it might be unprecedented, but bizarre? Not necessarily.
-----
As accusations flew back and forth, a makeshift courtroom inexplicably appeared.
(TL/N: The scene changed into "Attorney Game")
Sitting in the defendant's seat, Raven protested sharply: "In standard detective novels, the first suspect is never the culprit!"
She used this argument to refute the charges.
"And by the same logic, Fu Hua, because detectives are usually beyond suspicion, you're the one who's the most suspicious!"
[Makes sense. Truly logical.]
[Wow, that's actually reasonable.]
[Could you all stop relying on detective novels and use actual evidence for once?]
Meanwhile, Durandal, who was idly fiddling with the sound system, looked utterly bored.
"Can we hurry this up? Just decide on the culprit so I can time my BGM properly!"
Her attitude was as casual as someone worried about missing breakfast.
This behavior irritated both Raven and Fu Hua, who simultaneously pointed fingers at Durandal, declaring her the true culprit.
This chaos demonstrated just how unreliable this entire process was. The result didn't matter, everyone was simply treating it as a game.
Fu Hua even provided a plausible reason, Otto had failed to pay salaries, driving someone to extreme measures!
As Durandal stood dumbfounded by the accusation, the BGM she had been preparing suddenly started playing. She turned around, confused, only to find Rita operating the system.
Rita's reasoning?
"Because it seemed fun."
Durandal could no longer tolerate it. Pointing decisively at Rita, she declared her the murderer of Otto.
"You're the culprit!"
"No, you're more suspicious!"
"No, it's definitely you!"
And just like that, the argument escalated into a shouting match.
With their peculiar methods, it seemed everyone ended up labeled a suspect with meaningless deductions.
"Eh? Wait a minute!!"
Theresa's sharp cry interrupted the chaos. Everyone turned to where she was pointing, and on the screen where they were supposed to identify the culprit, new text appeared alongside an audio report.
[Collecting culprit names…]
[Mei, Durandal, Raven, Rita, Mei, Theresa…]
[Culprit confirmed.]
As the electronic voice completed its announcement, everyone froze, their previous arguments forgotten.
For a moment, silence reigned, and the situation has turned completely awkward.
"You're all culprits?! Damn it! No wonder none of you took the investigation seriously from the start!"
Kiana finally pieced it together and yelled, her realization dawning too late. She had assumed their lack of effort was due to personal grievances against Otto.
Now it was clear. They were all guilty! Why investigate anything at all?
Kiana recalled the first time she met Otto in the dimly lit room. He had accidentally fallen, and the Valkyries mercilessly delivered the final blow with their weapons, ensuring his death.
She replayed the scene in her mind and confirmed her deduction. Furious, she declared,
"You're all guilty! I'll arrest every last one of you!"
Just as Kiana resolved to bring justice, the system's counter chimed again.
[One culprit remaining.]
The hall fell silent once again, and everyone's gaze turned to Kiana.
"...."
Their unspoken looks seemed to say: What did you just say?
Seven people were present. Six culprits had already been identified. The remaining one was obvious.
Heh... so you're a culprit too.
The damage was minor, but the insult stung.
"Uh—uh—uhmm …"
Kiana scratched her head, a little sweat appeared on her forehead, feeling some extreme embarrassment.
She... seems to have remembered something?
Back in that first room, she had definitely stepped on something… and even ground her foot into it. Turning back now, it seemed like it might've been… Otto's face?
"How about we just delete this?"
Kiana gave a confident thumbs-up, her expression brimming with optimism.
"If everyone's a culprit, then no one's a culprit! Why should we all arrest ourselves?"
And with that excellent suggestion, the villa's atmosphere returned to a cheerful and carefree mood.
The Valkyries entirely ignored the person still lying on the floor.
Until… the bomb's countdown began.
"Wait, my villa—!"
Raven seemed to snap out of the jovial air, realizing something horrifying. Her expression shifted from confusion to panic, though it carried a sense of inevitability.
BOOM!
The island was engulfed in a massive explosion, leaving the villa completely obliterated.
But the mission was a success, the thigh leg ring's energy had been gathered, and Kiana advanced to the next world.
Perhaps aside from the body of Otto, there was also someone left lamenting the loss of their villa.
[Ah! That's satisfying. Raven's island villa met its loyal and faithful explosion.]
[Raven, villa, island version 2.0.]
[Perfect. If everyone's a culprit, no one's a culprit!]
-----
"Ahh— Teacher's island villa… The developers are just brimming with malice," Sora sighed as she sat in the orphanage courtyard with the others. The TV nearby was broadcasting the scene.
What could she even say?
At first, she had found the sunset scene quite moving, even motivational. But now… it had clearly devolved into pure comedy.
Teacher… really had it rough.
"Hehe, well, maybe it's just part of the game's settings," Lyle chimed in, casually scratching his nose. "Like how Bronya always refers to herself in the third person, or how Mei is super good at cooking, it's just normal, right?"
"You should call them sisters, they're real people."
"Fine, fine, but I was just giving an example! Still… even though we respect Teacher a lot, we have to admit, this setting… is just too cool!"
Lyle shrugged, his tone light and teasing, but he didn't contradict Sora's words.
"…You better pray Teacher didn't hear you," Sora shot him a sidelong glance and rolled her eyes.
"Sigh~ I bet the atmosphere at MiHoYo is amazing," Lyle mused, looking wistfully at the blue sky.
Life was so much better now than it had been before. The only downside was the lack of freedom, they couldn't just go wild and run off like they used to. On the bright side, though, Teacher probably had a lot fewer headaches because of it.
.....
"Are you okay, Raven senpai?"
Susanna looked at Raven, who was walking away with a darkened expression.
After a moment of hesitation, she quickly followed.
Although they seemed to be on opposing sides in the game, their relationship in the game wasn't bad. And since there weren't any workplace restrictions about it, she felt it was fine.
As she approached, she faintly heard murmuring,
"...My island villa... my villa..."
Raven's eyes were dull, almost lifeless, like a faded puppet. Her dejected aura was visible to the naked eye.
"Huh! I regret boarding this pirate ship! Watching this kind of scene and still having to work… although the salary is…"
She paused mid-sentence, stopping her needless complaints as her gaze landed on a figure holding some documents in the distance.
It was Su Lu, the editor.
She felt a hint of danger, though it was fleeting.
Raven frowned and glanced around, but found nothing amiss.
She assumed it was just her excessive sadness playing tricks on her. Curse that boss, she thought bitterly.
"...Oh, it's you two. Salary? Isn't your salary already quite high?"
Su Lu seemed to freeze for a moment before turning around naturally, speaking with a gentle expression, though her brows carried a trace of confusion.
Because of her earlier intuition, Raven remained cautious, but she couldn't detect anything unusual in Su Lu's expression.
She awkwardly continued the conversation with some forced laughter, and Susanna followed suit, nervously trying to gloss over the situation like someone caught gossiping.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the three of them parted ways. Raven, still cautious, glanced at Su Lu's reflection in a nearby mirror. Her movements were perfectly natural, just like always.
This finally dispelled Raven's earlier doubts.
....
In what was either Luo Mo's or Theresa's hall, Theresa sighed wistfully, "Everyone's a culprit, huh..."
"Exactly! Who'd have thought we were all culprits? No wonder it's called the case of the century!"
Kiana stood with her hands on her hips, looking proud. If someone else had been the victim, she might've felt a little bad about it.
But if it's Otto? Hehe, great! More of this, please!
"'Who accuses this magistrate?!' Is that the vibe we're going for?"
The Herrscher of Sentience spoke with interest. She had thought this was going to be a serious locked room mystery game, but it turned out that accusing everyone was the right answer!
The helpers Otto hired and the culprits were all the same people, no wonder his final move was to write out a card effect. He must've felt there was no hope for justice.
Still… good job!
While she could muster some respect for the real-life Otto, if there were ever a chance to hear him groan in frustration, she wouldn't mind at all.
"...That's pretty much what it means," Fu Hua sighed, rubbing her forehead. What could she even say?
Still, the fact that they had all ganged up on Otto somehow made her feel better. After all, it's not like Otto could see them now.
"Huh, I hope things don't get even more absurd later."
Fu Hua smiled wryly as she glanced at Luo Mo, who was feigning innocence. She shook her head, not feeling particularly confident.
----
In the new world, things seemed... a little odd.
In a pure white room marked "Gym," posters of fitness enthusiasts covered the walls. The room was filled with muscle-bound figures.
More importantly, many familiar Valkyries had gathered here.
Was this a world of determination?
Would it focus entirely on muscle training?
As Kiana glanced around, she made a shocking discovery. Theresa was normal! No more of that silly, dumb-face expression!
What a joyous occasion!
"What do you mean by that? When have I ever been abnormal?"
Theresa, holding a dumbbell in one hand, looked at her amnesiac niece with a helpless expression.
Since they were in a gym, their clothing was minimal. Black fabric wrapped around Theresa's chest, forming a completely flat surface. Like Bronya beside her, there was no curve in sight utterly smooth.
"Ah, well, it's a long story. Let me think..."
Before Kiana could finish, she was dragged off by Rosalia and Lilya.
"Workout time! How can you laze around with that flab?"
The three started a game of Twister, repeatedly testing Kiana's flexibility with all sorts of impossible poses.
Having not exercised in a while, Kiana felt like her body was about to break. Every cell screamed in pain, and tears welled up in her eyes.
But after seeing the naked white skin of Mei, she still felt a heat wave rising in her nasal cavity, and nosebleeds suddenly spurted out, her energy fade further.
She couldn't take it anymore, working out was pure torture.
But then Fu Hua approached. Wearing a black mask, her expression was unreadable.
"That expression? Those eyes? Those tears? What do they mean? Can your tears defeat Honkai beasts? Can they save the world?"
Kiana found it bizarre, was all this muscle training really necessary? It was just… weird!
"Without a perfect body, how do you expect to fight Honkai?"
Fu Hua spoke with conviction, leaving no room for doubt. "Your purity level is too low!"
"What does that have to do with purity?!"
"If that's the case, I'll give you one chance, to take me down here and now!"
Fu Hua sat down heavily at a table, slamming her arm onto it. Her palm opened wide, the challenge unmistakable, it was an arm-wrestling match to determine the victor.
Kiana confidently took the seat opposite her. In the past, she would have stood no chance. But now…
The moment their hands clasped, she saw Fu Hua's sleeve burst open, revealing pure, dense muscle underneath.
Her own hand instantly became as soft as dough in Fu Hua's grip, utterly powerless, as though she had transformed into an actual paramecium.
Kiana struggled to maintain the balance, but something was clearly wrong, why did it feel like Fu Hua was going all out?
This strength… this power… it was completely abnormal!!
She looked up at Fu Hua and saw something terrifying.
Cracks began to form on Fu Hua's mask, revealing her true face. Her once-calmed gaze now carried a sharp, intelligent glint, hidden until now.
Her mouth uttered the dreaded "Teri Teri" chant.
Kiana put all her effort into the match, but it was still difficult to overpower Fu Hua.
At that moment, a chain appeared in midair.
The Herrscher of Sentience, tracing the chain, arrived on the scene. She threw a furious punch at the old-timer's neck, nearly snapping her spine. One couldn't help but think that osteoporosis prevention should start early for the elderly.
With this unexpected help, Kiana finally managed to claim victory. Her thigh leg ring signaled that the task was complete, and she prepared to leave.
[Smart little eyes paired with the body of the Crimson Red Immortal, Shenzhou's Symbolic Warrior plus Teriri!]
[No one can defeat Fu Hua! Only Fu Hua can defeat Fu Hua.]
[Senti: Cun Jin, Cranium Crack! Old Timer! Eat my brick—oh no, I mean fist!]
-----
"A world purely relying on muscles, huh? That's really… ahaha… I hope I don't have to become a Valkyrie there."
Kiana scratched her head awkwardly, staring at the endless posters of "Purity" flying in the game, along with Fu Hua's repeated battle-damaged state, feeling utterly speechless.
If being a Valkyrie required using muscles to fight Honkai Beasts… what a disastrous scenario that would be!
She definitely didn't want to turn into Senior Lewis!
(TL/C: I still don't know if Lewis is guy or Woman. She looks like a guy, but wiki says the opposite)
Not that she was doubting the senior's abilities, absolutely not! It's just…
Well… she sincerely hoped there would be fewer Valkyries like that. Truly.
"Uh… this…"
"Using fists to fight feels way too reckless. It's like the aesthetic is straight out of the old timer…"
The Herrscher of Sentience muttered, her eyes shifting as she watched the game screen, deep in thought.
She suddenly felt it was necessary to choose a weapon more suited to her. After all, fists were something that old timers like Fu Hua used all the time.
As for those three standard weapons she uses, spears, chains, and swords. they were just too plain and couldn't fully express her unique temperament.
It was about time to craft a weapon that truly represented her essence.
Hmm… what kind of weapon should she create? It had to be something instantly recognizable as her masterpiece!
"But this world seems fairly simple, though,"
Theresa remarked with mild interest. As long as the game didn't overdo it with "Theresa abuse," she could tolerate watching it further.
After all, she firmly refused to believe that everything described in the game would happen after she succeeded as Bishop. That would just be far too bizarre!
"heh..."
Luo Mo simply snorted in response, after all, the real show was yet to come.
Muscle training might be tedious and concerning, but the bizarre dances that followed were enough to make people flee in the opposite direction.
----
In the next world, Kiana encountered a creature that resembles the yellow Homu, claiming to be the Homu King and the Demon God of Sand's Shelter, or simply "Sandy."
It jumped out of a river, proclaiming it could grant wishes.
However, when Kiana casually tested it, it turned out to be a complete fraud. In the end, it even tried to remove Kiana's combat suit…
But she didn't expect the review to be strict, so she wore two sets in advance!
As Kiana wondered why this world didn't seem heavily influenced by DumbTheresa, (zombie-Theresa) five pairs of glowing red eyes appeared in the bushes. Moments later, five miniature Theresa clones burst out, ready to assimilate everything they saw.
However, the Sand Shield Demon God remained calm, taking out a tape recorder. The Therese clones were instantly drawn to the mesmerizing dance on the treasured recording and began dancing along.
Seeing this, Kiana's eyes lit up, this might be a good way to handle the situation!
But then, the Sand Shield Demon God also started dancing uncontrollably, its twisted moves looking utterly ridiculous.
It was as if it couldn't stop, and the absurdity of the scene was simply off the charts!
Yet somehow, the mission was completed! Just like that!
Kiana could only slap her face, unable to bear the cringeworthy sight. She sighed in resignation, there was no saving this world.
She chose to move on to the next one.
---
In the hall, the conversation among the group took a strange turn. They seemed more concerned about the yellow-furred rabbit.
"How could they make Homu look like that? Unforgivable! Absolutely unforgivable!"
Bronya glared coldly at Luo Mo, then glanced down at the plush toy in her arms. Suddenly, even her beloved toy started feeling odd.
She picked it up for a closer inspection, it was so cute! But why did the game make Homu look so pervertedly weird!
Homu was clearly adorable! How could it possibly be so lewd? And wanting to strip Kiana of her battle suit… Disgusting!
"…Haha, that's clearly the Sand Shield Demon God, not Homu!" Luo Mo retorted dismissively.
"Homu… I can't bear to look! No way that's Homu!"
Theresa covered her eyes, choosing to ignore the five dancing clones of herself. Her attention remained fixed on the perverted Homu.
"Wow, do you all actually like that thing called Homu?"
Elysia asked curiously. She hadn't paid much attention to their preferences but had seen plenty about Homu before.
Personally, she didn't care much for it, probably because she hadn't grown up with it like they had.
She preferred something more like Fairy Elys, adorable and charmingly cute just like her!
"Well, I don't particularly like it myself," Luo Mo admitted fearlessly.
Theresa and Bronya both shot him sharp looks. They were die-hard Homu fans, after all…
-----
In this timeline, Kiana felt disoriented and groggy, as though she'd seen this scene many times before. She had no idea how many bubble universes she'd traversed.
What lay before her now looked like a subway station. Beneath the dim tunnels, a train rested silently. Through its windows and doors emanated a faint green light.
The walls were covered with sticky notes warning of dangers, though most were obscured by a mysterious viscous liquid, splattered like bloodstains.
The air was filled with faint crackling sounds of electricity, a sign that the power supply here was far from stable.
The eerie atmosphere thickened, and the unsettling background music tightened Kiana's nerves.
Although worried, Kiana had no choice but to press forward.
Suddenly, the green light inside the train turned into a sinister red flash. Out of nowhere, two cardboard cutouts of "Dumb-Theresa" popped up, staring at her eerily with their grotesque expressions.
Kiana gasped, her breath hitching. Her heart raced.
"It's creepy how they just popped out of nowhere… But at least they're just cutouts. Let's keep moving," she muttered, trying to comfort herself.
Despite her fear of all things weird and spooky, she had a mission to complete.
The Theresa cutouts, terrifying as they seemed, weren't actually three-dimensional, which made them slightly less…
Before she could finish the thought, the entire corridor lit up in a blinding red. The pretense was gone, a long string of identical Theresa cutouts rushed out from behind her.
"What the hell is this!"
Kiana dove behind a nearby wall, trembling.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's wrong with this subway station?!"
She gasped for air, her voice trembling. She didn't dare look back, feeling as if this scene would become a lifelong trauma.
"Oh, God! Heavens above! Aunt Theresa! For the first time, I miss the normal you!"
Kiana shivered, her thoughts in turmoil.
Compared to the short, nagging Aunt Theresa she once knew, the red-eyed, eerily grinning figures before her made the old Theresa seem adorable.
["The Time I, a Herrscher, Got Scared Out of My Wits by a Few Cardboard Cutouts"]
[Jump Scare Central! What's up with these Dumb-Theresas? Suddenly turning into a horror movie!]
[This creepy music… Yes, your soundtrack is impressive, but don't use it like this, please!]
-----
Even Theresa herself shuddered, feeling genuinely frightened. However, Kiana's inner thoughts about her didn't sit well.
"Was I not kind before?"
Theresa narrowed her eyes, glancing at Kiana.
She had always been kind!
However… to say Homu wasn't cute? She turned to glare at Luo Mo again.
Then, shrinking slightly, she quietly moved toward the more crowded sofa area, trying to blend in unnoticed.
"This video… Okay, I admit it's a bit scary," she murmured.
Kiana couldn't help but shiver. She hadn't realized during voice recording just how terrifying the game's visuals would become when paired with the eerie background music.
She glanced at Mei, who stood composed nearby, and felt an overwhelming urge to dive into her arms for comfort.
She was a little scared.
"Just a few… a few cardboard cutouts, and you're this frightened, Kiana?! How disgraceful!"
Theresa folded her arms and spoke sternly, clearly dissatisfied with Kiana's reaction.
That is, if you ignored her trembling knees.
She managed to force out her words with great difficulty before subtly making her way to the sofa and sitting down...
She was just tired! Yes, that's it, Tired!
Theresa was terrified of ghosts. Even mere rumors of them were enough to unnerve her. During the Second Eruption, she'd been jittery inside the tower just because of ghost stories.
And if she herself turned into a ghost… she'd still be scared!
Speaking of which, she still hadn't figured out why she had ended up in her current state.
For a moment, the fear in her heart even overshadowed her anger. But with so many people around, she refused to show her weakness. She forced herself to remain calm, clinging to the last shred of dignity she had as the school principal.
"Aunt Theresa, why is your voice trembling? Are you even more scared than me?"
Kiana teased.
Seeing someone else even more frightened than herself, Kiana suddenly didn't feel as scared. Really, it was just the abrupt transition from comedy to horror that had unsettled her…
After all, she was a Valkyrie, aHerrscher Valkyrie, officially recognized and all!
"Luo Mo, what kind of world is this? It's so uncomfortable —"
Elysia called out. While she wasn't exactly scared, she found this eerie and unsettling video game style deeply unappealing.
The once-cute Theresa now seemed utterly bizarre. If Theresa suddenly made that kind of face... it would be shocking, to say the least.
It would be like seeing a vacant, dim witted look appear in Mobius' usually sharp eyes. Absolutely alarming!
"Didn't someone complain things were too ordinary? Of course, we had to include something extraordinary," Luo Mo's calm voice resonated, causing Theresa's face to stiffen.
She muttered something under her breath in protest, but her words were so garbled that everyone ignored her.
"Is this really a 16+ game? Bronya has serious doubts. Of course, Bronya isn't as easily scared as Kiana."
Bronya held the frightened Seele close and firmly rebutted, though deep down, she gave her boss a thumbs-up!
If she herself wanted to watch a horror movie, her intentions might be too obvious. But since it was her boss's doing, well… she couldn't be blamed for enjoying it!
She relished Seele's embrace and the warmth of her breath, cherishing the rare sensation of warmth.
Amidst the coldness of her mechanical exoskeleton, only Seele could provide her with such tender solace.
"Sixteen plus…" Luo Mo repeated the words with a sly smile. "What does a 16+ game have to do with my video?"
He then cast a triumphant look around at the group.
Bronya and Seele opened their mouths as if to argue, tilting their heads in thought. However, they found themselves unable to refute his impeccable logic.
"Wow, boss, you're really something. Even I can't keep watching this!"
Kiana exclaimed righteously.
She then leaned in closer and whispered, "...Call me next time."
Her playful expression suggested she approved of the protagonist role Luo Mo had assigned her.
After all, it wasn't her being targeted!
-----
Kiana's attention shifted to a vending machine nearby. Inside, a variety of canned drinks were neatly arranged.
However, she didn't have any coins on her.
Even if she found one, she wouldn't be able to use it.
As she searched the area, she suddenly noticed a coin in her palm. It bore the image of Dumb-Theresa.
She couldn't help but frown.
But given the circumstances, Kiana could only take a gamble. She inserted the coin into the machine.
No drink came out, but instead, a projection began to play.
In the projection was a normal looking Rita, speaking,
"If I am lucky enough to speak with you…"
"Then the situation must have reached a dire point. If the pathogen aboard this train isn't eradicated completely, Dumb-Theresa's virus will spread further with this train's journey."
Rita's projection… Sure enough, this is also the key singularity!
Kiana stared at the projection, lost in thought. If she could prevent this from escalating…
"This space is no longer the underground station we humans typically recognize. Twisted, mutated, and illusory creations are everywhere here. I hope you possess the wisdom to discern reality from illusion."
Rita's gentle voice carried an undertone of helplessness and fear.
"I will offer what aid I can," she said.
The vending machine emitted a clunking sound. A pair of blue-tech goggle fell from the slot, seemingly designed to reveal the truth hidden within the illusions.
"They will show you that seeing is not believing. My time here is almost up," Rita continued.
"I wish you… a safe journey."
Her voice lingered in the eerie, chilling ambiance as her projection dissipated into the air.
Amid the clanging sounds, a bottle of blue soda rolled out from the vending machine. It was both Rita's final blessing and the last trace of her will.
After putting on the blue goggles and looking again into the deep, dark tunnel, Kiana murmured:
"The last… blessing?"
A sense of oppression weighed heavy on her chest, filled with shadows of despair and hatred toward Dumb-Theresa.
But no matter what, she had to confront it. Even if she was the last one standing, she must shoulder this responsibility.
The two rows of Dumb-Theresa clones had now dwindled to just one, aligning with what Rita had said. The final Dumb-Theresa slipped into the train's doors, and Kiana immediately followed, diving into the carriage.
"Welcome. This train is bound for ■■■. Please remain seated and hold on tight. Have a pleasant trip—"
Dumb-Theresa's voice echoed from the broadcast, carrying a strange, unsettling tone.
Kiana warily scanned her surroundings. In such a confined space, how was she supposed to eliminate the pathogen Rita had mentioned?
"Passenger Kiana, greetings. To ensure your travel experience, we will now conduct a brief survey,"
"Now, here's the question,"
Dumb-Theresa's voice emerged from nowhere, teasing and toying with her like a cat playing with a mouse.
"When the train doors are about to close, what should you do?"
"Are you kidding me? You're asking me about travel etiquette now? Catching you is the only thing I should be doing!"
Kiana's frustration boiled over at Dumb-Theresa's words.
This entity had turned the place into a living nightmare, assimilating so many people, and now it had the audacity to ask such ridiculous questions?!
"Heeheeheehee…"
"Wrong, wrong, wrong!"
Dumb-Theresa's maniacal laughter echoed, repeating "wrong" three times. The train blared its warning sirens as red lights began flashing.
A Dumb-Theresa head hung upside down from the ceiling, her strange gaze fixed on Kiana.
"For your safety, please wait for the next train~"
Dumb-Theresa sneered coldly, her voice dripping with the chilling tone, like the Herrscher of Dominance.
[This video isn't so bad. Even the Herrscher of Dominance would bow down to it!]
[The Thousand Herrscher Dumbtheresas—now making their debut!]
