Man in Warhammer, starting Primarch

Chapter 12: I will bring a second hope to mankind

"This is not a betrayal of the Imperium of Man."

Dukel saw their hesitation at a glance.

"After waking up from thousands of years of being out of control, this empire is no longer the one I was familiar with. The former glory is gone. Compromise can certainly bring about a peaceful outcome, but it increasingly contradicts the will of the Emperor."

Humanity had a chance for redemption, but it fell apart under the manipulation of the evil gods of the Warp.

The entire galaxy has become the plaything of the four gods, and all living beings are weeping and wailing in endless torment.

The Emperor who loved all mankind has now become an incorruptible mummy.

The Empire has lost hope.

If we continue to maintain this status quo, we will inevitably slide into a tragic ending.

Ten thousand years of chaos, endless negative emotions surging in the Warp—the power of Chaos has become too strong.

In this 41st millennium, the final war will come sooner or later, and everything will be destroyed.

Dukel came to this world with a perspective spanning all of history, inherited the extremely powerful body of the Primarchs, and possessed a system to assist him. He was determined to bring a second salvation and hope to mankind by his own strength.

But his enemies were formidable: the Four Chaos Gods, the Tyranids, the Green-skinned Orks, the heretics lurking in the shadows, and countless alien threats.

The power at their disposal could only lead to the gradual destruction of the human empire in its decay.

There are no vast human interstellar legions, no more twenty Primarchs united in a glorious crusade.

In this dark age, even the barrier between the Warp and reality has grown perilously fragile.

Chaos can invade any world at any time and bring despair to mankind.

The tendrils of bloated bureaucracies and corrupted forces extend into the ancient families across the galaxy.

It is no exaggeration to say that the enemies they face are far more terrifying than those of the Great Crusade.

None of these foes would grant him time to act cautiously. Dukel would have to move with lightning speed to unite every force that could be united.

Dukel knew very well that his recovery from millennia of dormancy and the uproar it caused in the Warp had already drawn the attention of the Four Gods and the Dark Lords.

Countless sinister schemes were already brewing, ready to destroy him or lead to his downfall.

With unwavering resolve in his determined eyes, Dukel glanced at the planetary governors, still hesitating.

An unyielding flame seemed to leap in his bright eyes.

"I am willing to serve you, Your Majesty."

"I would like to do so as well."

"And me."

One after another, planetary governors stepped forward to pledge their loyalty to Dukel.

Under the influence of psychic energy, they quickly set aside their prejudices.

"You are welcome to join my council."

"Together, we will save the human empire from sliding into despair."

Dukel nodded slightly, showing respect to them.

The psychic energy surged, and everyone present could clearly feel the determination and loyalty in the Primarch's heart.

They were naturally persuaded.

Some even felt regret.

They had doubted the loyalty of the Primarch before them!

"We can do it, Your Majesty Dukel. Please allow us to join the council."

"Yes, we are also willing to follow Your Majesty."

"Me too."

Looking at the planetary governors who had not stepped forward immediately, Dukel just nodded coldly, his attitude starkly different from before.

Even under the guidance of psychic energy, these individuals hesitated, and Dukel saw the doubts in their hearts.

These people clearly had no loyalty to the Empire and were merely clinging to their own power.

But they had come to this meeting from their territories, willing to discuss.

Thus, Dukel did not mind giving them a chance.

As for the planetary governors who had refused to attend, they were already sentenced to death in the Primarch's mind.

Dukel did not alter the original positions of those who joined the council.

After all, such changes must be made with great caution. Even the slightest mistake could bring nightmares upon the populace under their governance.

It might even cause severe upheaval.
